While this unicorn may not be of royalty like her name suggests, one special day out of the year, Halloqueen uses her magic to project a form more fitting to her regal nature.

Very cute! And I'm glad you started a thread. I go thru spurts myself - I'll post a bunch of pics then be MIA for months. Just having a thread up here is motivating, I think :)

I adore your take on Cool Breeze! She has something in her that reminds me of a cute bug, which fits summer wing and windy wing ponies great!

I love your style for Cool Breeze! Really a unique look for a Winger - she is adorable!

That Cool Breeze! :lovey: Your style is so whimsical and pretty, I love it! The Pokémon are adorable too. :)

Thanks everyone.

I see wingers as a relative to Breezies, so I do interpret them more bug like, I'm glad that managed to come across.

I hear you about the motivation, while I haven't done anything fancy yet, I've been sketching more ponies at least.

And a small Pokemon update.

Small update. I don't make a lot of Pony OCs, but I had the idea and had to doodle her.

I will commission you!  I love your take on Minty.  Can you do Gusty?  I can pay via PayPal.

About commissions: It's more to test the waters, and is just for a limited time to see if people are interested. I'm not really expecting too many (so many things to draw!) but hoping it will improve the lag in pony art. Anyway, I'll draw you any Hasbro pony for a humble $5, that does include colour. You will receive a roughly 900x900 pixel file (larger, than what I typically upload) without a watermark. OCs are not included, but if you'd want to see your pony/character in my style, maybe we can work something out.

Update: Real pony update. I also tossed a couple older pieces into the pony spoiler. ^.^ Have another one sketched and needs to be coloured so hopefully one more pony to add soon too.

Title: Re: Aluke's Art / Quick inquiry in last post, interested in a holiday adoptable?
Post by: aluke on November 15, 2016, 12:05:34 AM
Just a small doodle that I thought would make a cute adoptable. Though, before I take the time to polish the line work and start an appropriate thread in the adoptables section, I figured I'd ask first. Would anyone be interested in adopting a holiday stocking pony? Inspired by what has to be my favourite pony ornament (Twilight Sparkle in a Stocking, so cute).

So yes, would anyone want to adopt one of these for December?

Oooh yes please! The Adoptables forum has been pretty quiet as of late, it would be amazing to have some new active threads. And very kind of you to offer these! ^.^

Minty is the sock pony after all! :P I'm so delayed on these, I want to set this up sooner than later (being seasonal and all), but I don't know what to do without photobucket. I guess it's time to figure out how to use deviantart stash.

I'd love one.  The Adoptables section hasn't been very active lately.

Lostpony- I guess so? If you want to request a stocking pony just follow the link in my post above. :) If you meant my actual artwork, thanks. If you are interested in my art, I'm not really actively advertising commissions, but I can probably squeeze one in.

Post by: aluke on January 08, 2017, 12:07:15 AM
Pony art hasn't been a huge priority lately, but this came out of my nightly doodle session, plus I needed an excuse to axe the retired adoptable header. I need to learn how to clean up traditional photos, or invest in a new scanner.  >_<

Undetermined sea pony-

Hi!  What I meant to say is that your art seems to be popular with members here.  Has a distinct look which is very nice especially the eyes and snout.

(I'm kinda hung up on using my own for my avatar, and I've only drawn one passable thing so far. do you like it?)

Great work! and good luck with things like scanner etc, ack.  I can't get colored pencil shading to scan and I'm about ready to build a light-box with a camera mount or something.

Well thank you. There's no written rule that you have to use an adoptable as your avatar,  :P some people just like to collect art. Haha, but alas, it's not like you HAVE to adopt one either.

I think the worst part about traditional art is getting an accurate representation on your computer.

Also small update again, I forgot to put my Pony in a Pear Tree entry in my art thread, in the OP now.
Title: Re: Aluke's Art / Shoo be doo~ Pencil Sea Pony + PiaPT
Post by: lostpony on January 08, 2017, 06:00:02 PM
Haha right there next to the partridge too.  Dangit I forgot to ask Santa for pony in a pear tree.  Maybe next year.  I like the closed eye.

The colors on mine came in OK with my smartphone but everything else was bad, on a scanner everything but the colors came through...I think a good hi-res, close range camera set on a mount with a good spectrum of diffused lighting might work.  I'm determined to keep using colored pencils and get this all under control before getting into drawing on the computer so hopefully I can solve the problem.

Haha thanks lostpony. There's always next this year.

Well, based on this convo, I decided to whip out my pencil crayons after half a year. Original phone image next to a digitally brightened (and more accurate) version. I'll have to take a picture in natural light,  as it's past midnight now, as well as dig out my old scanner and see if I can get it running. Honestly, it's 2017, why is it still so much work to take a decent picture.
