Pony Corral / Re: Flocking: Yay or Nay?
« on: April 22, 2024, 09:13:05 PM »
I deflocked a Paradise a few weeks ago and still cant get over how white she was compared to how dirt coloured she was before.  Now I just need to re-hair her but I'm thinking that beautiful white and the super orange hair will look amazing together :)

Customs / Re: Dreadlocks in MLP Hair?
« on: November 22, 2023, 03:56:32 PM »
At this point I don't really want to remove the hair.  I might have a look around for one with a baity hair cut and try the brushed wool thing but even one with bad hair is worth quite a bit these days.

I might do some more research and see what I can uncover :)

Thanks for the help, worst comes to worst I know I can dye my own hair the fluorescent yellow green I need, and its getting time for a hair cut. It won't be the first time I've used my own hair lol

Customs / Dreadlocks in MLP Hair?
« on: November 21, 2023, 10:38:53 PM »
I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right place but I'm wondering if its possible to dreadlock hair from hasbro dolls that came out the same time as G1 MLPs? I've got a Pizzazz doll that I really want to dread lock but I'm not really sure how to even start.  I've got a bunch of MLP from the same era that have massive knots that I'm too scared to brush out because I'm hopeless at smoothing it out.

So my question is would it be possible to create dreadlocks that look even and intentional rather than just the matted lumps all my ponies seem to have? Has anyone else done dreads on a pony?

Every time I've done dreads on my own hair I've started out with thin braids and then teased them but I just don't see how that will work on such a small scale :/

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

G1 flutter ponies!  I think making wings look like soap bubbles was genius.  I could stare at them all day.

I remember looking at the sunset through them and thinking it was the most beautiful thing in the world.  Even thinking back now its definitely in my top 3

I love the butterfly island hair colour method and this one looks like an excellent example of why.  <3

I was just looking at some princess ponies for sale on a local auction site and came here to ask if it really is just the forelock on the princess ponies because it looks terrible.  I'd still own them haha I wouldn't let that stop me but its doesn't look great at all.  I have a princess primrose and the tinsel in her mane seems to be scattered but the shelf is too high for me to get to to have a closer look >.< First world problems am I right?

I agree with the moulded hair comment too.  The only moulded hair pony I have is Optimus Pony and it just seems appropriate for that one.

The Dollhouse / Re: Let's Talk About Lady Lovely Locks
« on: July 03, 2023, 04:20:28 AM »
I can identify the scorpio constellation because of the Lady Lovelylocks annual.  I would sell my first born to have a copy of that again.

The dolls were beautiful but quite hard to find in NZ, my Mums friend got me a Maiden Fairhair when she went to australia and I loved that doll so much and was really excited when they finally showed up here :)

I thought the Pixitails were the height of fashion when I was 10 ^.^

Edit: Ok so it turns out I've forgotten how to post pictures haha >.< I could post a link to the auction but last time I was here that was against the rules . Will happily post a picture if someone could remind me how TYA

Hi, I found this pony on a local trading site and wondered if anyone know who it is.  The symbols look like twice as fancy but the ghost of the doll website shows no TAF's with that colour scheme

I know I'm late to the party but I saw the thread and had to say something; Powder was my first pony and the reason I have such love for them now.

I'd have an army if I could but for now I have 2 :)

I just want a flutter pony with its original wings so I can lay down on a trampoline on a hot sunny day and look at the way the clouds change when I see them through the wings.  I've been thinking about replicating the experience lately by maybe making some repro wings and putting them on my Morning Glory flutter but I no longer have access to a trampoline and its turning to autumn here so I guess I've got a few months before I can do it.  *wanders off to look at the price of trampolines*

Off Topic / Re: How does your SO react to your collections?

My husband is very supportive.  He collects Transformers and I was a little jealous that he always got new releases and the dolls I collected were pretty much done (Jem, except for Integrity Dolls but I'll never own any of them... way too pricey) so I started to re-collect My little ponies so I could keep up with him
