Why do they hate her so much?

I always hear she doesn't test well with the target audience and she's also the least favorite in the adult fandom. I guess it's because she's what some people would call "a country bumpkin". It also doesn't help that her storylines mostly focus on her family and her family business and that she's the least goofy one out of the main cast :/

Always makes me a bit sad that the one G1 import is the least favorite.

I was wondering if it could be that kids find her the hardest to relate with because she has (IMO) so much 'realistic' responsibilities that could be seen in real life too, and kids somehow notice that and feel like maybe she seems too grown up and serious when compared to the others. After all her parents are dead(?) and she's running a huuuge farm and raising her little sister at the same time. She rarely stresses over a random party, studies, cute little critters or fashion disasters, which are more likely to be closer to the 'target audience' (and by that I mean kids). When it comes to the other actually 'grown up' characters like Celestia and Luna, kids simply love them 'cause they're so cool. Lol, I dunno..

Also... about Apple Jack.  I agree with the serious lack of her release.  I NEED FS APPLEJACK!!!  Someone above pointed out the lack of AJ in several new lines, what about the lack of rerelease of FS AJ?
