Problem with a member here on the Arena and slow shipping (?)
« on: November 16, 2012, 01:19:22 AM »
Hi everyone.
I'd need some help to confirm that a very expensive pony supposed to be shipped with express service is actually been shipped this way.

I have a tracking number but on the usps site it says info unavailable and that for that shipment tracking is not available online.

If you can help me, maybe contacting a post office, please pm me and i will give you the tracking number to check.

Thank you.

I'm sorry you've have trouble with tracking. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if anyone, but the seller can help with contacting the post office for you. If the number isn't appearing on USPS.com I don't think any post office other than the one that mailed it will be able to access information about it.

How long ago did the seller ship? If they shipped in the last 24-48 hours, it's possible that the tracking hasn't been updated on the site yet. Or did the seller give you an incorrect number?

Also I recently had a tracking number that never appeared on the site (always with that same "unavailable" message). That item was something a friend sent to me, so I know exactly when she shipped it. Even after receiving the item, it never was updated on the site. I think USPS.com may have had some recent problems with tracking on their site.

Hi:)
Thank you for the answer:)

The pony was supposed to be shipped 4 days ago.
I have paid more than 40$ for express because it's fully trackable.

I have asked the seller if it was the correct number. She read the message but didn't replied. It was 2 days ago. Now i have sent her another message but it's still unread.

The problem is that i have sent the payments (700$) as a gift. I abviously trust the (very well known) seller, but, and i think it's understandable, i am a little nervous.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Ok...there are some news...
The seller contacted me after i have posted this message (ah the coincindences) and i have discovered that even if i have paid for express she sent the pony with priority.
She gave me the wrong number the first time and now she gave me the right one but she is very defensive.

I have also been told that she gone to the post office and they told her that the pony is still in Richmond from the 13th of november and it will leave the states after the thanksgiving....which sounds very fishy to me.

Is it possible so that a pony shipped with priority is still in the states from the 13 of november??? Almost 10 days ago?

I am pretty furious right now...

I suppose it is possible depending on where she started out.  Fingers crossed that your pony comes home soon!

rybett's right.  Plus as I am sure you heard there was a Hurricane that impacted the whole East Coast here.  It could possibly be why there is a delay.  I know USPS's site still had an announcement up on their website saying there were still delays as of last weekend.  I have not checked it since then but if your package was mailed during that time, it would definitely have an impact on it.  It's just a thought   But in my experience Priority International does not move along any faster than First Class International sometimes.

Although it doesn't explain why it was not sent Express if that is what you paid for.

Hi.
Yes, i knew about Sandy, but the package left the States on the 13 of november from Virginia Beach, VA.

It's still could be affected by that, but not sure.

Thanks for the support.

I can believe there is a problem with USPS caused from Sandy in the Virginia Beach Area.  Not only was that part of Virginia hit by Sandy but they also had a Huge amount of snow fall with a lot of downed trees and power lines.

I dunno... I have sent international mail since Sandy (that processed through east coast facilities) and did not have delays to that extent, only  couple of days. If it is still in Virginia that means the package has been sitting in a post office for what as of today is 8 mailing days not moving. Something out of the ordinary is going on there, and the post office should be able to provide an answer as to why.

I hope your seller has an explanation as to why they did not send the pony with the mailing method you expressly asked for. Looking at the post office website it looks like the express mail you asked for would have been $39.50, so it's not like you didn't pay enough to over it.

Thanks again for the answers.
I repeat, it could be because of Sandy, but at least my seller should have been told that from the post office!
That is what i don't understand!
Ten days and the pony is still there? Ok, but why?

If you have the correct tracking number now, you should be able to google VA beach post offices and call and have them give you some answers...after all it is being shipped to you. Good Luck!! Make sure you get your refund for the differences of shipping methods!

That could be a spendy phone call.  Curious, who is the pony?

1-800-275-8777 This should be a toll free number to call. You can talk with them there and they can answer all of your questions and track your package. If you want to talk to an operator, then just keep saying "Operator" I think that this is a voice activated system.

I tried, but it's not free from outside the States.
I will wait, something hopefully will happen.
