Title: Let's talk about Kingdom Hearts Mobile Game
Post by: Ponyfan on September 02, 2016, 02:33:08 PM
Kingdom Hearts Unchained is my first experience with Kingdom Hearts although I thought most of the games looked interesting and even watched some of the cut scenes on YouTube. I really enjoy the Kingdom Hearts mobile game for the most part although I'm not enjoying the current line of quests I'm on (the Underworld) but that might be because I've never been a big fan of Hercules.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained is sadly not a very good example of the series. It's a fun distraction during a break at work or anywhere else you only have your phone, but, yeah... I got tired of the repetitive worlds, just the same darn worlds over and over and over again, with the same enemies and the missions are all pretty much the same. The story is so spread out that it's hard to even really follow it. There's so much more variety to all of this in the other games of the series.

Probably my favorite part of the series is the music. I especially loved it when the composer Shimomura (hope I spelled her name right. >.<) started using live instruments instead of MIDI and she really started liking the oboe/English horn (you can hear some oboe and English horn in Unchained, too. Daybreak Town's theme has some very pretty oboe playing. OMG)

The only Kingdom Hearts that's really worth playing is the first one. There was a kerfuffle with the creator of the game after the first (or maybe the second?) game and they've gone waaaay downhill since then, though people still play them avidly. The first game has the best balance of Disney and Final Fantasy stuff. The second game was okay, but it added a lot of (I think) unnecessary extra characters (well, technically they were added in the game that came between 1 and 2).

Basically, I always LOVED the concept of Kingdom Hearts... but there are elements to the games that I have never been a big fan of.

I used to be really into the series (collected merch, cosplayed, played the games. read manga, etc.) but I lost almost all interest in it by this point. I played like 5 of the games but only ever finished one of them. I was one of the Organization XIII fangirls

Thanks everyone. I'm sad to hear that I missed the best games in the series. speaking of the music I do love the opening theme that plays after you open Unchained. i don't get to hear the world themes since I usually play when other people are around. Also why is Sora not in Unchained?

Well, you can still play them! Both Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 have been re-released on PS3, and some of the early handheld games were included with the re-releases. :)

I really loved the first two games. Didn't care too much for the 380something days. I recently restarted playing 1 due to selling off my ps2 and upgrading to a ps3 so I got the re releases to replay. I've been having fun with unchained despite it being repetitive

Oh my, do my sissy in law and I LOVE Kingdom Hearts! We live and breathe anything Disney and video games, and this is the best crossover thing for us ever. We are IMPATIENTLY waiting for the third and wanting to get the remastered 1&2 for PS4 super bad. I just LOVE how silly and akward mermaid Sora was signing that song with Ariel xD and the Halloween Town level was my favorite!

Be careful, they're PS3 releases and the PS4 sadly isn't backwards compatible with the PS3. Otherwise I'd only have a PS4. =/

Sorry if I sound rude, I just want to help if you didn't already know.

Oh, its okay Harmonie! We keep hearing rumors that they are working on a remaster for PS4, we are aware there are PS3 versions but of course we sold our PS3s right before PS4 came out xD

Kingdom Hearts was the first video game I played "by myself"... it barely counts because I was so stressed about missing anything I made my mom buy a step by step guide to every little thing (like the locations of all the currency). We printed it out and that thing was HUGE! In the end I was maxed out completely and couldn't even finish it cause I had no experience playing games :/

I had a lot of fun though! I did some crappy cosplays with my friends at school and stuff like that. We even made sea salt ice cream once. It was SO good! Ever since I've been dying to make it again.

I liked Chain of Memories but never got overly far. The whole card based thing was kind of bizarre to me. I played it here and there until my GBA totally screwed up, wiped my save, and stopped saving anything a couple years ago. I was so mad.

Does anyone have tips for defeating Master Ava? I am saving up my jewels and have one dark metal (the old hag from Snow White) and also have a high level King Mickey medal, but the last time I tried to deadest her I spent a lot jewels and barely made any progress on defeating her.

I'm convinced I'd need to spend thousands of dollars on medals before I could beat Master Ava.

This game is always really harsh with the bosses.
Title: Re: Let's talk about Kingdom Hearts
Post by: Ponyfan on October 25, 2016, 04:52:58 PM
Thanks Harmonie. I've been able to fight the other bosses using many jewels to continue. I don't really have a good idea to defeat Master Ava. I read that using a dark medal made it easier but so far my medals don't seem strong enough.

I thought using a dark medal would make it easier to defeat Master Ave but so far it hasn't worked for me. I think I will be stuck here for quite a while. :(  Have you had any luck beating her Harmonie?

I'm convinced this is where the game stops for me. You'd have to have a keyblade full of guilted Premium medals to be able to beat her. =/

I've really enjoyed this game but if there is no easy way to beat Master Ava without spending a lot of money for the Premium medals then this will be the end of my game too. :(

So, I just beat Master Ava! ^_^

I'll tell you how, in hopes that it can help you. I hope you see this in time! Right now (probably ending in a day or two) there is an event where you can get a ton of the Meow Dream Eater medals for FREE.

Go for the Speed (Flowbermeow) one. Get them, guilt them to where you have a fully guilted Flowbermeow. It's a GREAT medal if you get it guilted.

You may need Namine (which allows you to use the buffs that the enemy has, which in Master Ava's case is three times attack power or something like that), too, though. I was lucky to get one in the draws they have right now. If you have enough jewels try and you might get one, too.

If you have time do the Power (Meowjesty) medal too, it is INSANELY powerful and great. I have cleared so many missions I never could before with a fully guilted Meowjesty!

Congrats, Harmonie.  :)

Thanks for the tip on the Dream Eater medals. :) I'm having a little trouble trying to defeat all of the enemies in 1 turn to get the Speed Dream Eater  medal. Mostly with the Invisible and the Neoshadow. I've been saving up my jewels to try to beat Master Ava. Which medal draw should I use to try to get Nammie?

Title: Re: Let's talk about Kingdom Hearts

I believe it was the Score Assistance Deal for 1500 jewels. I just looked at the list and Namine is indeed on there.

You can get the medals regardless of whether or not you get the objective cleared. It's still random and you may end up going two or more tries without getting any, but it's much more generous than previous events like the Jack or Halloween Sora one. Those were terrible. I wish I could try them again with my guilted Meowjesty and Flowbermeow, though!

I  kept trying and got a lot of Speed Dream Eater medals.  :) My special attack bonus 3 circles are lit up and I leveled it as high as I can. 80/80. I did the score assistance deal but didn't get Namine. Am I ready to try to beat Master Ava?

You want to make sure that you get Flowbermeow to 6 Stars so you can fill up all five circles and go even further to get the bonus, until it looks something like this:

Sorry you didn't get Namine. =( That might make this really tough, still... But you should at least try a guilted Flowbermeow.

Thanks Harmonie.  :) I've been playing a lot today trying to get the Dream Eater medals. I don't have the right evolve medals to evolve the Dream Eaters any higher but I am trying to stock up on them so I can evolve them tomorrow. I think Friday and Saturday are the evolve medal challenges. How do the Magic Mirror medals work? I have a lot of them but can't use them.

Ponyfan

Friday is the day where you can get 1 star to three star evolve medals, and Saturday and Sunday are for four and five star evolve medals.

Magic mirror medals are a big help after you've guilted a medal. Chances are the percentage you get after guilting a medal will not be the full one. A Magic Mirror medal will up the percentage of medal's guilt by 1. This is really helpful because for instance I was having trouble getting my Flowbermeow and Meowjesty to 100%. I kept on getting more medals of them and leveling them up and applying them to raise up the percentage but it was to no avail, they both got stuck at 96%. With the Magic Mirror medals, I was able to raise them both up to 100% with little effort.

I'm not sure I understand your question here.

They need to be the same star level before you fuse them.

Sorry my post was confusing. :(  I was asking if all of the medals need to be the same level to get the special attack bonus before I fuse them.  So if I evolve my FlowberMeow to 6  stars the other Flowbermeows need to be 6 star medals before I fuse them or the special attack bonus won't light up, is that right?

Right, but you can fuse some of the medals at five stars with one five star medal, level it up to six and then fuse that level six with another level six and it will all carry over.

^Yay, I hope you can beat her soon!

Meowjesty is an incredible medal, too. I have it fully guilted and almost 1000 points of power added and OMG it can take enemies (like those big heartless carrying the swords) at level 125 with three bars of health down almost all by itself.

Thanks, Harmonie. I'm pretty sure I can beat her next time as long as I have a lot of jewels saved up. :) I didn't get enough Meowjesty medals to be able to fully guilt that one, but I do have some of the special attack circles filled.  That is great that it is so powerful against those Heartless. I always have a tough time beating them.

Thanks, I actually beat him last night. It started with me doing the Larxene event. I beat the last quest of that, which is a boss. That boss required the same keyblade, and once I figured out how to beat it, I figured I'd go try it on the elk boss as well.

This setup right here is what I used:
Spoiler
Using the healing Minnie and the defense increase of Santa Sora every turn I was able to keep alive. Mostly used 1 cost Demyx for attack, although sometimes Moana, too. Jack takes up too much special gauge, especially when you need it for Minnie and Santa Sora
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I ended up having to use a continue on the Elk boss because it strikes much harder than the Larxene boss and can take out my character with full HP in one hit. I wasn't going to sit around and stress myself out over that. =/

I have a surplus of Santa Soras, as I got mine 99% guilted with far less medals than I thought. Of course it may take many more to get to 100%, but I have a Magic mirror if all else fails.

I wish we could gift medals in this game to other people, because I'd certainly give you some!

Oh I totally didn't realize this thread was talking about the mobile game-  I've been playing that off and on-  fairly recently-  am a little confused about what you mean by "Guilted"

Are you supposed to feed medals of the same kind to your medal to make it stronger?

Pretty much, yes.

If you look at the image above, you'll see yellow orbs and a 100% in the Special Attack area. You start by adding medals that are exactly the same (same character, version, and star level). Adding one will fill a single orb. Once you get past five, then each one you add will "Guilt" it, which means that the special attack will be multiplied by a certain percent. That percentage is the 100% you see in this image.

The exact percentage you get is randomized. You can raise it by adding another medal the way you did originally. Each medal has a certain percentage that it will max out. The one above is maxed out at 100%. Premium medals can be maxed out at 120% or even 150% in some cases. The ones you can farm from quests max out at 25% and thus aren't very helpful. The ones you get in events are typically 100%, though, so that's nice.

Also of note is that guilting raises your Nova attack. You may know about that. If not I can explain that, too. Guilting the first time of a particular medal will raise the Nova level by one. Guilting that same medal to its full percentage will raise your Nova attack an extra five levels. Note that if you get another of the same medal and try to guilt that one like you did the first it will not raise your Nova attack. So if you have Sora A, guilt it, and then guilt it again until it's at 25%, but then get another Sora A and try to do the same, it will not raise your Nova level.

Hope that wasn't confusing. I'm not a very practical person. >.<

Glad I could help you all (and that I made sense lol).

You should definitely guilt Classic Goofy. It has an expensive SP cost, unfortunately, but it does a lot of damage.

Today is the day where you can get unlimited power level up medals through the special quests, and we have a 0AP event going on right now. So today is the day to do it!

I'd say, for the most part, get rid of the Goofy's you farm that are below 5 stars. Sometimes I've leveled up 4 stars, but I wouldn't try to do this all from 4 stars.

The key for me is Meowjesty. If you didn't get it, and you see another opportunity to get one and guilt it, GET IT! With a setup that buffs it beforehand, I can take out any and all of the Admantite Ore quests (except for maybe the Moogle o Glory ones, those are beyond).

Otherwise I would recommend finding your strongest medal, putting it in a slot in a keyblade that boosts it up to x2 or so and place medals that will buff it up before it. Classic Goofy and Classic Donald are pretty good medals. I would recommend getting them and guilting them. They might be able to help you. Classic Goofy is expensive, but attacks all enemies and does a very good amount of damage. Not as much as Meowjesty, but it still should help you out.

Not here in the West, no. The JP version has a method (which is called Mickey & Brooms.). However, the Western version has been holding them back from us forever. It is a point of much contempt with SE global at this point.

They want us to spend unspeakable amounts of money to pull for enough medals to guilt them. Don't do it. In all truth, I wouldn't spend a penny on this game.

I finally beat some of the ore challenges. What worked for me was adding Uncle Scrooge medals to some of my best medals. Can you get another ore if you've already beaten the ore challenge and won one? What happens when you run out of ore challenges but still need the ores to level up your keyblade?

Each quest only gives you the ores the first time you clear their objectives. If you go through all of them you will have enough ores to be able to level up each keyblade fully.

Going about getting all of them is pretty tricky, though. I relied on Meowjesty with a lot of buffs to be able to take down a lot of the quests. If you find a setup like that, that can carry you through a lot of them (that setup even got me through the magic keyblade ones!) than you should probably focus on leveling up that keyblade and the rest will fall into place.

I would recommend watching this guy's (https://www.youtube.com/user/Smelly0ctopus/videos) YouTube. Believe it or not, but his advice landed me in the top 5000 of this recent HSC and I got Ariel & Flounder! =D Of course, you have to understand that he has played the way he has since the beginning, which has made him so good.

Thanks Harmonie.

I got a little bit of a surprise tonight. I was playing the story quests and reached the end of Story Mode. I thought I still had a lot of story quests left and didn't realize battling the Darklings was the last one. I'm pretty sure I know who at least one of them was.

Anyone still playing this game?

If you are, I just want to say, if you have the jewels and you don't already have her, get the Illustrated KHII Kairi. That medal is 100% worth it!

I still play. :) Thanks for the info on illustrated Kairi. I did two epic medal deals trying to get her but haven't so far.

I've still been playing :) I managed to snag the KHII Kairi when she was first released and she is a -complete- game changer. Many quests that I was stuck on has become a piece of cake sense getting her. She's set on all of my keyblades lol

This game is SOOOOO much like "Summoner's War" -  except you fight with monsters that you summon.  (And.. some of the monsters are a little ridiculous big boobed succubi).

But other than that-  very similar.  And for some reason just slightly slightly more interesting? (A few more things to do)

If you like this game, you might try that one...

Does anyone have tips for defeating Iron Maiden in Cinderella's room? I can't make much progress before I have to continue and it eats up my jewels pretty quickly.

Afraid I can't avoid bragging... Sorry y'all. I have been so out of luck in this game for a long time even though I've been working hard, and the game finally threw me a bone:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

For some reason, I was up at 2 am and could not sleep when the banner came. So I decided to pull just for the heck of it. The third pull is what you see above. I was so surprised. I fell back on my bed and had to cover my mouth so my squeal wouldn't be so loud and wake up my neighbors. Lol.

I've never gotten an EX medal before, never even come close. Also the only Boosted medals I have ever gotten came from the recent WoFF banner where they were very likely to get.

So... It's incredible this happened for me.

Well, I beat the one in Hades Cup, so I think the one in story mode is easier and should work with the same strategy. (I beat the story mode one through sheer power, but I'm not going to assume that others can do that lol)

Do you have the Hayner, Pence, and Olette medal and the Pooh, Tigger, and Rabbit medal? If you farmed them, and got Extra Attack, the boss and the cats can't take you out.

If not, look for medals that raise defense against whatever attribute the maiden is. I think she's magic, IIRC. Vexen B would really do the trick, especially with Extra Attack.

So, if you have a couple of good defense medals like that, you'll still need to strategize. Again, I'm assuming it is like the one in Hades Cup. You'll want to use single target medals, preferably powerful ones that deal less hits to avoid bringing down the counters as much as possible (Xaldin B would be amazing here). You'll want to take out the cat on the right first, as it will heal.

After you take out that cat, just keep on using defense and slowly taking out the other cat and boss. Hopefully that will work.

Thanks Harmonie. :) I don't have any of the those medals but I'm going to keep trying. Am I supposed to take out the purple cat first? I get his health down pretty low and one of the cats heals and pushes it back up to almost max.

Congrats on your medal pulls. :) That looks like some fantastic medals.

You need to attack and take out the bottom-most cat first. It heals, so you want to take care of it first and then everything else.

Wow, congratulations! I thought maybe that boss would be difficult for others like Master Ava and the other Foreteller battle from earlier this year were for me... but I guess it's not that hard. I have Sephiroth EX so I'm out of touch. I took Master Aced out so easily.

Now I'm trying to parse out what's happening in the story and I can't. Did the player character actually fight Aced or was it a dream? This story confuses the heck out of me. Aced's characterization seemed like him given how he acted in Back Story, but... Why would our player character dream that? Have they even met all of the Masters?

And then another "dream" where they met up with... the grey haired guy (I'm so glad this is not a KH forum or I would be shamed for eternity for not remembering his name, I'm sure ) again and they talked about the promise from ages ago.

What is it with this game and "dreams"? I know it's KH, and KH has a history of these scenes that I can never tell what is actually happening, probably because I'm super slow.  :(

Thank you. It was a little hard for me but not as bad as Master Ava. I know very little about the KH universe but I'm confused about the story too. I took it as Master Ava is collecting the Dandelions to start the new world after the war and Skuld, the gray haired one (Ephemer?) and the other two have met at the departure point. The 5th one is supposed to be a mystery but I think it's going to be our player character which might explain the dreams. I thought the battle with Master Aced might have been some kind of test,  like the fight with Master Ava but I'm not sure. I think the characters have only met Master Ava and only our character has met Aced.

I'm not sure what is going on in the last scene either. I heard the Japan version is more complete  than the US version and I think  there has to be more to the story that we don't know because there are a lot of things that aren't resolved yet like the dark Chrinity that appears every once in a while. Why are all those Keyblades in the background in the last few scences.? I have to wonder if they're supposed to be from other wielders that disappeared somehow?

What does everyone think of the new pet that can battle with you in the latest update? So far I think it's cute but don't really understand how it works yet. I hope there are more story quests soon.

What exactly do you not understand about it?

I just want more pet types. I actually really like the dog model, but I really want a unicorn or some other kind of horse.

It turns out I was on the wrong screen when I was trying to set my pet's medal. That's why I was having trouble. I wish there were more pet types too. I expected more besides a cat and a dog too.

So right now Union Cross (the multiplayer) is offering a bunch of old Event medals if you run through it and defeat enemies. The Pet steals more for you, if I'm right, too.

I 100% recommend trying to get Young Kairi and trying to roll Extra Attack trait on her. Defense is super important in the game at this point.

Thanks Harmonie. :)

I’ve got enough Young Kari medals to complete the special attack bonus (2 wth 3 special attack dots filled in) but have to gather more evolve medals. They are some really great medals in Union across this time.

There's 15  new story quests and a new bunny pet. You have to win bunny parts though through the 500 jewel blind box.

The blind box is such a terrible deal. The very least they could have done was add medals with each pull to at least give you some non-aesthetic perk for pulling.

I say that, but if they make a horse/unicorn/pegasus pet and it is cute enough my jewels will be gone.  :yikes:

It wouldn't be a Kingdom Hearts game if the story wasn't confusing! Lol.

I don't play it as much as I used to. I'm afraid the game has just become too easy. I pulled both Kairi EX and Xion EX. I think these medals are just kind of game ruiners. The game is wayyy too easy for those of us who have them. Meanwhile, because they're incredibly hard to get, SE can't really make the game harder because it would leave too many people behind.

What on earth were they thinking making such a game-changing medal an EX medal?
