G1 Heart Throb Question

Okay I have two of these ponies.  One her mane is all the same length.  The other has a shorter section a bit longer than a forlock.  So which one is right?  The one with the shorter section in the front or the one with all hair the same length in the mane? I am so confused. I looked in my book but it only shows photos of the back on the pony and I can't figure out how her mane should be.  I am concerned one of mine might have a slight haircut, but its really hard to know for sure.

The section at the front maybe something like a quarter to half an inch shorter than the rest of her hair?

This is normal in a lot of releases. A lot of ponies which didnt have forelocks have a tiny hair length difference at the front - its no doubt to do with how the head turns in and therefore a little less length is needed there.

When we consider the sheer number of Heart Throbs and Surprises which got a release, I dont think its surprising that there is some minor variety in batches and that some may have this little shorter length and others hair all the same length.

Yea that is what I was wondering.  Thank you so much.  I looked and looked my two girls over and I actually did find a couple of plugs on mine that are a tad shorter and never noticed them before.  Longer than a forlock...but wanted to make sure it wasn't a hair cut. So glad to know.

My childhood Surprise has a shorter forelock, but it is longer then a straight haired pony's forelock because she is supposed to have curly hair. That shorter bit is a curly forelock. Just the other day I was washing the hair on a Surprise I found in the thrift shop and thought it was strange that she didn't have a shorter forelock like mine does. I can promise you no scissors ever went near my childhood Surprise, so I'll back up the suggestion that there were different batches done in different ways.

I have an unrelated question but regarding Heart Throb - was Heart Throb released in the UK? The My Little Wiki page is contradictive.

Well I know they made their own NBBE Heart Throb baby but I am not sure about a UK adult.  There are Nirvana Heart Throbs though.  Germany made a NBBE HT baby too.  I just don't think I have seen the adult version in that country either.  Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I have not seen any reference to it in books or on sites.

No we didnt get her. The only Heart Throb we got in the UK was the Play & Care Baby version. There are releases of Heart Throb on English cards but these were sold in Scandinavia
