Off Topic / Re: Disney Swap Brag Thread Pic Heavy
« on: March 20, 2016, 06:15:18 AM »
Hey guys, I am feeling better thank you so much for the well wishes to get better nemubones. I had to disappear due to surgery so that was a bummer and the reason things got back upped with me. I meant to ship before I went under but something happened (I forget now what happened) but man what a trip to the post office to ship it. The shipping almost cost me more then the items in it! LOL.

So I have a brag too. My package came from FAR AWAY, I was really excited about it too. It made recovery MUCH better for me. I didn't get a lot of Detailed photos as I was really high on pain killers when I got it. But I got a few photos.

All wrapped all nice like. I really didn't want to tear into them cuz the paper was so cute!

All unwrapped, At this point I was already into the chocolate! It was noms! Really really NOMS! I had to share with my kiddo though. I really didn't want to but as she helped me with the package and unwrapped most of it for me. and took my photos for me as I couldn't hold my camera. She also had to read the post card for me. I found it funny. But we got through it.

The tsumtsums are soft I squeed when I un wrapped jafar and ariel! I am a huge fan of the villians so that was ROCKING!
The Pin is on my lanyard and I had to fight my kid to not take it from me. She wanted it as much as I did. I love That silly cat, so does she. So it was funny, But she got to open the tsume tsume packet for me and she was happy with that considering she took the one I got. (I think it was a dalmatian) Yup joys of a teen who doesn't take NO as an answer.

Also where ever you found the cross stitch THANK YOU! I have been looking everywhere for them so I was so happy about that. I have yet to start it but maybe I will when I am hauled up in bed next.

I used my note pad to keep track of my healing by the way. So that was handy to have. The nurse that came in to check on me laughed at it. She thought it was cute. Wasn't happy that I had all that Chocolate to keep me happy. She was mad at the "empty" calories I was eating. but she let it go.

My daughter added my tsumtsum's to my shelf.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love it all and I can't wait to get on that cross stitch. I think that is the best thing ever! THANK YOU!

I wanted to come and say I got my partners present and it is amazing. And to find out my partner has not gotten my gift yet.

I am worried now as we sent it on something earlier. Ugh I thought it was the first but I am not so sure now. Pain killers you fail me! Please keep me posted.

I should mention I am not around often due to being on bed rest after a bad spill on the ice broke me. (ice and stairs do not mix) So I hope to check back as the pain is low.

Question: This awesome item I found for ya partner, the packaging would kill me on shipping can I take the figures out of the package and wrap them in bubblewrap? It would save me about $10 in shipping xD
Go for it just take a photo of it first for me please so I can see it. Also if you could Flatten the box, I would love the art work from the box if possible. I don't need any of the innards but I love to collect the art work! =^_~= I understand huge shipping fees!

It is actually what I am encountering as well. I huge amount of shipping fees. But my package is wrapped and put together and I have photos of it but I will post them later

Hey guys I am shipping early due to something that came up. I know we are shipping on the 11th/15th but is there an issue if I ship my partners package on Friday? I was surprised with a huge event that I have to deal with and I know when I start it I will be gone for a few weeks. So is there an issue if I ship friday?

And man I hope my things are just as epic as Lala's! You make me hope I am your partner as I want to know what is so epic lol. Who ever gets it better post asap so we can all find out the amazing most perfect item. Well back to work for me. I have to have a report done in 10 hrs and not even started. UGH!

At this point, I have a few small extras/gifts for you. So you'll have more than one thing to open. But. I'm trying to decide whether to get you two big things that will take most the rest of the budget, OR I can buy you one of the big things and more smaller things. ???
This is a swap so what ever you want to do would be fine by me!

Is there anything you forgot to add to your list?
If there is I have added it to my list! on my post!

Post Merge: January 12, 2016, 05:50:36 AM

question: I have a piece of Disney merch from when I was a kid, it is in PERFECT condition. I was wondering is it tacky to send it as an extra to your partner if you think they will love it more then you do?

I am joining. I sent the pm and here is my list.... can we edit them later if need be?

1. Favorite Disney movies?
- Beauty and the Beast
- Lion King
- Hunchback of Notre damn
- Robin Hood
- Aladdin
- Little Mermaid
- Pocahontas
- Marry Poppins
- Finding Nemo
- Really anything from the Classic Disney Pre 2000 and PIXAR!

2. Favorite Disney characters?
- Belle (fave char evar!)
- Chesier Cat (I Collect this little guy in the Black and white version from the original novels, and the pink version from Disney)
- Ariel
- Ursula
- Maleficent
- Jafar
- Jasime
- Megara
- Pocahontas
- Scar
- Marry Poppins

3. Are there any Disney movies/characters you dislike?
I don't think so! Not really.

4. Any particular merchandise type you prefer (plushies, figures, pins, etc.)?
Figures, Pins, Tsum Tsum, Animator Dolls

4. Any particular merchandise type you'd rather not receive?
Food items

5. Do you have a wishlist?
Not posted, but I wanted to get into animator dolls I own none, So this is a great opt for that. I also want tsum tsum. I only own two! (groot, and Eeyore) I am into figures and art! I also just visited disney and got into the pins. I only have Poppins, ursula, and ariel in her green dress so the disney collector pins would be awesome! (and it is a small shipping box!)
Did I mention I love Blind Boxes?

6. What would you like as extras?
Anything from where the person lives. I love postcards, art, pins, and if you want to do food I LOVE chocolate.

7. What is your favorite type of candy?
Chocolate, and cookies

8. Any candies you specifically don't like? Allergies?
Gummy Candies, sour Candies, and I am allergic to fish, and shellfish doubt that will come into play.

9.Would you appreciate hand made items made just for you?
-First this was added after I did my list.
SECOND YES YES AND YES! I love things from other people!!

Partner how do you feel about a themed box? (I.e. All items from the same movie/character/etc).
Oh I would be okay with this if you wanted to do that!

Would you prefer several smaller items or a couple larger / more expensive ones?
I like small items they often go further!

What are your favorite colors? (That can be helpful when deciding how to wrap gifts)
Purple and Pink

Do you prefer your box decorated or plain?
Plain, my post services hate boxes that are decorated, and I hate them cuz they often come to me so nice but got dirty from travel, so I have to throw them out and I feel bad for it. So please do not decorate. please! I beg you!

Would you prefer a variety of different item types in your box or would you be happy if it was heavy on something (Tsum Tsums or figures, for example)
That is up to you. If you can find all my faves in tsumtsum then do it.

Most of us have posted collection pictures, but I'm still worried that I might get something my partner already has. Could everyone either post some pictures and a list or at least a basic rundown of what kinds of things they already have?
Posted in my original set of questions. I have two tsum tsum Eeyore, and groot, a few pins from disney, I also had a brain fart when I wrote that and found other things.
Alive in wonderland mug featuring the tea party in purple from disney store, chessier cat plush backpack.

If I find something that is much cheaper in used condition, do you mind if I get that? Or would you prefer all new things?
I am okay with this, it means more things! I get to enjoy more items.

Partner fiancé and I have extras of the Figaro and Marie plastic blind bag tsum tsums (the ones with the accessories). Any interest in one as an extra?
I LOVE BLIND BAGS! and Aristicats is awesome. I also love Figaro! YAY!

Partner is there anything you like off the Disney Store Japan website that the US online site or store doesn't carry?
I am not going here this could be bad. Anything from Japan is awesome and they often have more tsum tsum. so I am staying away form there. but if you find blind bags we cant get here I would happily love them!

This is a swap so what ever you want to do would be fine by me!

ULTIMATE ITEM TO GET:
I am a cross stitcher and I would love to have any of the Thomas Kinkade cross stitch, or Alice in Wonderland cross stitch... Been looking for. http://www.hixxysoft.com/bothy-threads-fairy-tales-alice-in-wonderland-cross-stitch-kit.html  (do not order it from here, this is expensive) but if you can find these at your local Joanns COOL! As I am Canadian I can't find these anywhere!

The Dollhouse / Re: Ball Jointed Dolls- Thread #3
« on: January 03, 2016, 02:37:44 AM »
I've not done a faceup before, but I did a lot of research.

I plan to use Testors Dullcoat as the sealant.  I also plan to get some quality watercolor pencils.  I keep reading tips and tutorials, I want to feel prepared!

Thank you for the warning, I would hate to ruin an expensive item like this!

-----------

Your centaur looks awesome!  What supplies did you use?

He is sealed in full with MSC original as I bought a few cans the last time we imported it. The majority of him is done with high quality chalk pastel. Make sure there is no oil, it discolours the resin! And water colour pencils from staediler. And I use Reaper Acylic Minature paints as they blend well with water, and the flow improver, they are bright and vibrant and come in a lot of premix colours and it is easy to control colour ratio with the eye dropper bottles. So I can mix paint and then get close to the same colour if I need to re mix. It also works with my airbrush so that is what I use.

Also the string in them is an elastic that is braided with threads around it. I have a whole bunch of sizes if you want me to show you mine? And most dolls come loose so hot glue suading is a good option as is tightening the elastic in them. They often come loose to prevent damage. My Cuprit can stand on one leg after we tightened her elastic and Hot Glue suaded her.

If you need help with them pm me I would be willing to sit on skype and talk you though ANYTHING you need.

Spoiler
My Cuprit, her name is Eavan, on one foot.

And her crouching.

Thank you so much!

I know that MSC is supposed to be the best, but also the hardest to buy.  :P

I was thinking about the Citadel Purity Seal, but I got mixed reviews when searching it.  Same thing for Testors actually..  So, I don't know for sure what to try.

I know I will need a new (low temp) hot glue gun, as mine is the high temp and I read that could melt or burn the resin.  I do NOT want to do that!

So much to think about.  I guess it's a good thing there is a 3-4 month wait.  lol!

Testors is good. I used them for the first 2 years of my dolly life. And it works. Just it yellows after time. But as it is your first doll you will re do the face up numerous times and you grow any ways with your doll. I think only one doll has a face up that is over 5 years old for me. And she was painted by Call Me Gorgeous!!
