Need help styling some monofiber silky hair.
« on: May 22, 2013, 04:48:09 PM »
I rehaired a Wind Whistler custom with pixie pink monofiber hair from Retro Dolls US, and I can't get it to stop sticking out! :yikes: Any suggestions on how to fix this?

in my experience, monofiber is not easy to style
have you tried hot water to set it to a sleek style? (I don't believe it will curl)

What I've experienced myself (and seen other people say too) is that the water needs to be actually boiling. I've only done two ponies with monofiber and had success getting it to lie flat by pouring boiling water on it, but just hot didn't work. I did still have a couple of strands that wouldn't lie down that I had to clip off, but it was literally one or two hairs. I haven't done curls, but I've seen someone here who has, wish I could remember who. . .

boiling water, curling iron all of it works. i love monofiber and it's really fun to play with actually. just don't go over 400 degrees and it'll be fine.
