2 different G2 Golden Glows? And PC^_^

I have recently got a Golden Glow i was going to sell but i've noticed is different from the one i have in my collection.

The one i will sell is the second one with the green wings.

can someone tell me more about them and also help me with a price check?

I also can't recall seeing her with green wings! Maybe a packaging error? Then again she's also the other way around in the packaging. Cool find

Yes it looks like the second Golden Glow has been packed with Copper Glows wings but in Silver Glows plastic bubble [as Silver Glow faces the left in her packing as opposed to the right facing Golden and Copper] and then had her own sticker slapped on the front of the box! Talk about a combination of packaging errors on the way out of the factory...always thought she suited Copper's wings better then her own anyway, I guess the factor agreed for a while!

As she is a factory error packing then pinning a price on her could be tough. Loose and complete these 3 girls seem to be in the $30-35 region at the moment - definitely a surge in G2 popularity plus those dang tough to find wings. MOC I would put the top one at $50+ mark - the second one $80 as she is a factory packing error, you just have to find the right person looking for one.

Ya know, it's pretty common for G2's to have variations in their accessory colors.  In these cases I've notice that some seemed to be packaged differently.  For example, I've got 2 MOC Princess Golden Light's.  One has a flat, box-like "bubble" and the bubble on the other one conforms to the shapes of the pony and accessories.  Both have glittery orange combs, but on the first one, the sun crown and hairclip are orange, and the fan and sunglasses are yellow, while on the latter one the accessory colors are reversed.

My guess is that one was released earlier than the other.  Maybe one with Princess Silver Rain and Prince Firefly in 2000 (both have conformed bubbled), and the other with Sapphire and Fuscia in 2001 (both have flat box-like bubbles).  I think the group images on the back correspond to support this theory too, but my MOC's are both in storage now, so I can't check (I just moved).


Silver Rain has variations in her accessories too.  I've got one MOC with conformed bubble, and the other complete and loose, so I'm not sure what her bubble looked like.


Anyway, maybe it's the same thing with Golden Glow.

OK, OK, I'm finally getting around to this.  Here ya go:

Eh, darn, I took a pic of the backs too and sent it to my email, but it's stuck in que; my phone can't seem to handle sending multiple pics.  It could take a while before I finally get it.  I'll try to post it later if/when it finally comes through.  Anyway, you can see the accessory variations.  LOTS of G2's have variations in the colors of their accessories, but I'm not sure about the card bubbles, and whether they were released simultaneously or at different times.

The back of the card with the molded bubble (which seems to be an earlier edition) shows Silver Swirl and Twinkle Star (both from 1999) along with Silver Rain from 2000.  The implication is that they're all Princess Ponies from the same group.  This backcard also has a cut-out card that's a drawing of Golden Light with her accessories; it includes info about GL's personality.  These cut-out cards were printed on (all?) the early backcards and boxes.

I'm pretty sure the other one was a later edition.  The back shows pics of GL along with Sapphire and Fuschia (both from 2001).  They're photos, and there is no cut-out card.

Prince Firefly isn't shown on either card, though I think he was released with the 2000 princesses.  I'm getting him MOC, so I can find out what his card looks like when he arrives.

And, yes, I have more Golden Light's than I really need.  I hadn't really intended to start a mini-army, but she's so pretty, you just can't have too many of this pony.

Wow, thats really interesting. I have never seen the head thing in 'neo' orange before. I have it too and it is the lighter orange, like in the first MOC.

Wow! Thats really interesting KPF! I didnt realise there was a different in shade of accessories in the differing date/country releases.
