I spend far too long at my desk, either browsing the web, gaming or working on something. I've bought about half a dozen cushions over the years to help alleviate the pressure on my spine and backside. Some were promising but in the end didn't hold up.
I'm on the hunt for a really good cushion. Facebook has shown me ads for one for larger people and it looks pretty good. They also have matching back and foot cushions. The Cushion Lab (https://thecushionlab.com/)
Then there is the Purple (https://www.amazon.com/Purple-Ultimate-Seat-Cushion-Relieving/dp/B01CKMP21W/ref=sxin_16_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.6fd80408-71b6-44da-b059-082bba9089d3%3Aamzn1.sym.6fd80408-71b6-44da-b059-082bba9089d3&crid=CC71ARVG9RHQ&cv_ct_cx=purple+cushion&keywords=purple+cushion&pd_rd_i=B01CKMP21W&pd_rd_r=7cfb229a-4f06-4c37-83f3-9a0329b17270&pd_rd_w=uOIfF&pd_rd_wg=V9GPD&pf_rd_p=6fd80408-71b6-44da-b059-082bba9089d3&pf_rd_r=FJRY8GM2JYVBJVEDM1WY&qid=1686814888&sprefix=purple+cushion%2Caps%2C163&sr=1-1-364cf978-ce2a-480a-9bb0-bdb96faa0f61-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0&psc=1&smid=A39Q3A3D4B6005&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzMkw3UjdXNkhNUkFLJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDE1NjcxMU83M0Y5RTdMNUJUJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA4MDY0MjUyRjVGSU1QQUpOSDVUJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3Bfc2VhcmNoX3RoZW1hdGljJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==) cushion, by the same company that makes the Purple mattress. It's quite pricey but it has very high ratings.
Then of course there are highly rated cheaper options.
I need something that isn't going to go flat in a month.
Any recommendations?

And update! I went ahead and bought the Purple cushion and it came today. It's very big. It's the "gamer" version, the biggest and thickest one they sell. I took everything else off my chair and it's just the purple cushion.
My first reaction (aside from, I'm shorter at my desk now  ) was how the edges come up around me and hold me like a gentle cloud. My behind feels okay. I'm going to sit here for a while and then update again to see how things feel after a prolonged sitting session.

I would snag my Mom's purple cushion for long drives in the car. :P Feels really good! I hope you enjoy your new cover!

Watches with interest!!! I think I need a proper ergonomic cushion with the lower bit at the back, because it would feel SO much more comfy to me!!! Going on the PC, crocheting, knitting, all of these are done sitting, & being uncomfy sitting is just not good...

Well, day two of using the Purple cushion and I have no complaints! It holds its shape really well. I did add a small blanket on it because I could feel the little squares.

i have to re-upholster our dining room chairs - wish I could use something like this! LOL

I had a long session in my chair working on things yesterday. The cushion is holding up! The real test will be longterm, but so far so good :) It's comfortable and hasn't squished or sagged or anything.

Bumping for an update.
I've had the Purple cushion for a month and it's still as cushy as it was when I first got it. No flattening, no sagging. I'm pretty heavy (400+ lbs) so usually it doesn't take long for a cushion to fail. It's still supportive and I don't get a sore bum after sitting for a while. It's expensive but I'd say it's worth it if you spend a lot of time sitting.
