Introductions / Hello again, it's me : Archi
« on: July 19, 2019, 06:46:34 PM »
It's been a long while since I've been on. A lot has gone on in my life and I had to walk away for a bit so I could keep this a happy space, unsullied by my constant angst/rage/miffs.  ^^;

Trader & Shipping Support / When and How to Complain?
« on: June 11, 2017, 12:33:08 PM »
I have some non-pony purchases that supposedly were shipped from Hong Kong that haven't made their way to me yet and I'm wondering if it's worth screaming at the Sellers at this point. I've an ever increasing stack of Eeyore Tsum Tsums that I would like to finish filling out as much as possible.

I've waited 60 days for the one that has been sitting on my Purchased list and almost as long from the other. Different sellers. In that time I've had packages arrive from the UK, China, Sweden, and Japan. I'm pretty patient when it comes to international shipping as I know not every Post is as great as the ones I have.

1. Should I escalate the one that's still under 60 days since it has a Tracking number that says it's been shipped or be ever patient?

2. Should I give up on the one that's over 60 days and just let the Seller know that I never received my product? Is there a way to recoup the little money I spent on that?

Customs / Daenerys Targaryen for Aintnobuffalo : Literature Swap
« on: May 06, 2017, 03:28:54 PM »
I'm truly sorry that I didn't get this lady and her entourage shown off earlier than this. I can only attach pics on my computer and in trying to be healthier I don't get to my computer as much anymore...  ^^;

One of the characters listed was Daenerys Targaryen, the Queen of Dragons from A Song of Fire and Ice. Even though the books themselves bore me to tears because I dislike the writing style, the lore of the world provides days of Wiki-holes to rabbit myself away in with plenty on her and her supremely interesting lineage. I have spent more time than I would like to admit, even after finishing this lady, diving back into the world to know ever more.  ^^;

Her hair is a pale three color rainbow of Oyster (pink), White Witch (white/silver), and Marshmallow (yellow) from DollyHair. I'm still no good at styling hair but luckily Daenerys seems to keep her locks simply coiffed.  ^.^

Her Symbol is a variant I made of the tri-headed, red dragon on a black field that is the crest of the Targaryen family. I felt this shape fit better on her flank and resembles some images I found from earlier in the timeline renditions of the ruling family's emblem. The skirt can carefully be removed for cleaning or a different display.

Her wings are made with layers of Angelina Film but I didn't do as good a job on them as I'd envisioned. Alternate views:

Pony Corral / Spring in the Orchard
« on: April 11, 2017, 09:27:42 PM »
I took a page out of lostpony's book and made a little story of the photoshoot.  ;)

It's well known that some plants seem to do just a bit better with a little song at just the right moment so Echo will hum to the baby grapes in the orchard.

  :whistle:

Many of the vines are hard to reach so it's easy to get a bit of "extreme gardening" in while the rest of the family joins in full song.

  :happy:

Echo always seems to worry Mimic with how high he likes to go.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login
  ^^;

His excuse is always that humming only carries so far and the grapes are always sweeter higher.

  :P

Echo's favorite part of singing to the orchard is stealing kisses under the leaves.

Arts & Crafts Corral / Needlefelt Accessory Pin Choice
« on: March 22, 2017, 07:45:35 PM »
I made a new pattern for a Tsum Tsum like Large pony and have been making some background ponies with personality relevant pins. Some are easy. Muffin pony gets her muffin, Doc Whooves gets his screwdriver, etc. Some are exceedingly difficult.

I need outside opinions on what sort of pin to give Lyra since so much of her "known" interests are fan created. Thank you for your input!

They're bigger than my hand and about the same size as what Disney has for their Mediums (9" to 11" for my Tsumegas and 10" to 12" for their Tsum Tsums.):

Pony Brag Arena / Belated Holidays Brag!

First, the whole lot together!

My brother-in-law laughs at my pony collecting but he gave me my first two Guardians sets. Because he's awesome. The wonderful duenia pointed out where I could find the Sunset Shimmer 5" plushie I'd been searching for. And PinkieShyPony did a private custom pony swap where I ended up receiving two very handsome boys, Snowy Night and Merry Memories.

I may end up giving Merry memories some more/new hair. I'm preoccupied with sewing at the moment so I'm just giggling at his unique hairstyle while he keeps me company at my desktop.

Snowy Night is absolutely perfect. I'm just trying to tame the tinsel in his hair (which has always been a task and a half in itself for me...) so he displays slightly better. The paintwork detail is absolutely exquisite and I wish that the pony I sent in return was half so well painted.

Customs / Genie Custom Contest Entry - Gustavo
« on: November 09, 2016, 09:36:03 AM »
This was my entry for the custom contest in the Wishes Do Come True Genie Project group on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/1591812564457570/

One of my largest single-pony collections (non-phony) is Gusty. By far, my collection of Brothers is my other largest Army. He fits right in with them now.

I attempted to dye his legs for the gradient but it worked more on the Apoxie Sculpt than the body so I used acrylic paint to fade into the color his feathers turned. He has a lighter green than regular Gusty but darker than Gustavo plus I went with her Firebird rather than his Sugarberry. I love him very much. :heart: :green: :heart:

Customs / Halloween Swap for gemini pony - Trick or Treat
« on: October 25, 2016, 08:29:06 PM »
I felt that Gemini wanted a pony which would fit in with the vintage Halloween feel of her Pinterest board. So I decided to do a creature themed pony. This is Trick or Treat a Secret Surprise pony that is more than a little mischevious.  :bat:

He is actually made from two different Secret Surprise baits as I wanted his treasure box to be green rather than pink. The horns and saddle are made from Apoxie Sculpt and the clear portion of his wings is made of Angelina film. The saddle is semi-functional and almost works as it should. The boning wire for the wings got in the way of me putting the box back into his cavity (which is why it sits too high...) but the saddle is a full sculpt, not a repurposed saddle. The hair is supposed to be more tiger-like as I bought some Eye of the Tiger from RetroDolls US but I think there must be some special way to ensure that the stripes show up as they should that I am not aware of. All in all I like him.

Customs / Kawaii Swap for tsukikakushi - Hanami Matsuri
« on: October 10, 2016, 10:37:05 AM »
After many trials involving my hair being late in the mail ( :pout: ) and irl problems creeping in, I managed to make a kimono wearing pony that I can be happy with. She's rooted in RetroDolls 'She Hulk', has plastic and fabric cherry blossoms, and clothed mostly in Apoxie sculpt that I dyed myself. I tried to make the kimono as close to something I thought a real pony might wear as I could. Hanami-kun comes with a small cup of ocha, 3 hanami dango, and a sakura mochi with a plate for her food.

Please enjoy. [begins picture deluge]

I'm sorry I don't show how long the tail truly is but I've had so much trouble with styling and keeping the hair from being uselessly tangled that when I finally got it tamed this much I refused to take it down just for pics.  ^^;

Arts & Crafts Corral / My Little Crochet Tsumi
« on: June 17, 2016, 08:39:33 PM »
I'm trying to make a reliable pattern for these cuties but I feel the need to get some outside opinions on Symbols/Cutie Marks. If the pony is as easy to know by color as Rainbow Dash is does she truly need her Cutie Mark for further recognition? I know that I'd have to sew or glue on anything like that and I'm trying to keep the cost low.  ^^;

Pony Corral / Re-winged!
« on: May 16, 2016, 02:20:28 PM »
Let my winger obsession lapse for a bit. My collection with HK to China comparison photos here.

I bought new wings for my Argies! They arrived today from PinkKittyWinks and they are perfect. She sent me a tutorial link so that I'd have a better idea on how to let my girls be true wingers again.  :biggrin:

I ended up using the parts found within the bodies, just in case I want to change the wings out eventually, and used no glue. A heavy duty set of pliers is my go-to tool and they worked just fine for me. A lot of warping happens even with the seams Xacto'd the way I do things so if you're squeamish about using that much force then the way the tutorial says to do things is the way to go. I essentially forced the entire assembly back up through the holding hole.  ^^;

I did cut a seam to release what was left of the wings and didn't harm the post. My Coolbreeze was an overly glued mess but Sun Glider was clean and had a second untouched post sealed inside the body. It's back there now too.  :P

The small bit of work was worth it, I think. Here's my Argie girls now!

Pony Brag Arena / Teeny Additions Plus Others
« on: May 05, 2016, 03:50:52 PM »
The larger pieces in my brag aren't MLP but the ones I'm most excited about are. I scored a few cheap murloc plushies I'm going to mod so my rainbow can become larger. I also have started a tiny Tsum Tsum collection. I want only Equines and am hopeful they make a zebra at some point.

But the pièce de résistance would have to be my new blindbags!  :heart: :squee: :heart:
They may or may not come out as official release (Nightmare Night Big Mac and Zecora are likely) but they now have places within my display. I still need to photograph it again but I want to make sure I get all of the new BBs fakies that I can first.  ;)

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Tsum Tsum Collector Question
« on: May 03, 2016, 11:48:40 AM »
I'm not a real collector as I'm just getting two characters right now and maybe a couple more as Disney puts them out. I have all of Eeyore (or almost as a couple are on the way) and want to know one thing.

Is there the mini versions of Bullseye (Toy Story horse) or is it just the 3.5" plush?

If there are minis out I need to find them but so far no go.  :pout:

Arts & Crafts Corral / My Little Cadence Plush!
« on: April 26, 2016, 08:22:55 PM »
So. While I'm decent at sewing I'm not good at the look I want for the bodies of the plushies I want in my collection. Which means I cheated a bit to get something remotely close to the look I want.  ^^;

A cheap Funrise Pinkie Pie was sacrificed so that my Shining Armor didn't get a Godzilla sized bride.  :lol:

Customs / Video Game Swap for RedLynx : Mega Absol
« on: April 11, 2016, 08:06:11 PM »
Mega Absol was on the top of RedLynx's list and I thought it was interesting and a very sleek and sneaky-sophisticated build, potentially, so I went with that. I must say that I tried creating a MegaStone that she could hold and failed in a mundane and unamusing way several times so...  :pout:  No Symbol/cutie mark for her because I didn't think the design could fit one in tastefully enough. The horns and talons are colored clay that are just sealed. I can't style manes for beans but she has both a brushable mane and petable ruffs.
