Off Topic / Subscription Boxes, anyone?
« on: June 19, 2016, 08:40:00 PM »
I apologize if there is another topic about this, already! I hope this is the right place for this topic. :)

Do you guys subscribe to any subscription boxes? I know there are tons of them out there, and was curious as to which ones people try out and/or currently sub to. I know a lot of people I know subscribe to Ipsy- I found out my sister subscribes to it last weekend, which surprised me. I believe that one actually has a wait list to try it?

The ones I currently have at the moment are:
skoshbox (Japanese snacks; been using them for over a year and a half),
Yume Twins (Japanese cute figures/plushes/accessories/ect; they just started and their first box looked pretty cute!),
and am giving Loot Anime a try for this month (they do anime-related merchandise) because this month's theme is sports anime, and they mentioned it having items from two of my favorites, Free! and the video game Splatoon.

There are so many I am curious about! I do like how there seems to be a sub box for everything nowadays, hehe!

Off Topic / Disney's Zootopia movie (Spoiler Warning ! )
« on: March 04, 2016, 04:52:05 PM »
Has anyone else seen this movie yet? I really liked it alot and (dare I say) I liked it a bit more than Big Hero 6. Ended up seeing it twice because the first time, they accidently played the 2D version insteas of the 3D version.

The animation is very nice, and I was surprised that I liked all of the characters in the movie. It was fun watching Nick and Judy interact with each other, and I liked Flash (the sloth) more than I thought I would.

Also have to give the movie props on how they handled the movie's themes. Enough to where you got the message, but it didn't feel like it was being "preachy" about it, if that makes sense.  Quite a few sad and touching moments in it as well.

If I had to say a few things:
Spoiler
- Despite her being the villain in the movie, I really liked Bellweather a lot. I thought she was a cute character, and loved that her voice had that not too obvious lamb/sheep-ness to it at times.
I find it funny though that if she hadn't met up with Nick and Judy inside the museum(?), her plan could have worked.

- Nick's backstory got to me. Nearly teared up in the theatre the first time I saw it.

 - I wanted to see a bit more of Shakira's character. Gazelle. I did like how they actually had a (somewhat important) scene with her in the movie, and not just had her as a "celebrity character who sings the movie's theme song".

- The "elephant in the room" scene made me laugh more than I should have, for some reason. I guess the facial expressions was part of it.

- Was NOT expecting that to be Finnick's voice.

The sooner it comes to DVD/Blu-Ray, the better! :D

Trader & Shipping Support / How to respond to upset eBay buyer?
« on: March 26, 2015, 07:31:28 PM »
I sold a Mystery Mini figure to someone on eBay some days ago, and had checked the pony to make sure she was wrapped properly. I saw I got a message from her, saying that the pony arrived with her tail broken, among other things.

Here is the message that she sent me:
Spoiler
just received my Applejack and I'm sorry to say this, but the Funko Mystery Mini figures seem to be of very poor quality. Applejack's tail fell off the second I got it out of the package. I bought two other Funko Mystery Mini figures from other sellers and the tails are also very poorly attached and will probably fall off soon too. I think there should be a warning that these figures are extremely fragile and not intended to be played with. I will try to glue the tail back on, hope it works, or my little girl is going to be very sad.

So I am not exactly sure on how to respond back to her. I've mailed off MMs to people before and they would arrive fine with no issues. So I assume it was the post office's fault for the tail being broken. I know in my listing, I did state that it was from the Funko Mystery Mini series, but I guess from this point forward, I will have to be blunt and state that it's not exactly a toy.

The part I bolded really is getting to me because part of me is thinking "If she had issues with the other figures, when why did she buy mine?" And another part of "customer who didn't really/exactly know what she was buying and assumed all MLP merchandise are meant for kids" ( in this case, an MLP figure that isn't meant to be played with like a regular brushable MLP toy. )
I normally don't do refunds, but I dunno if I should at least do a partial refund for this situation, especially if (from the sound of it) she was going to keep it and try to glue the tail back on.

Any and all help is appreciated. I have a feeling that regardless of what i do, I'll likely get my first neutral/negative feedback because of what happened.  :(

UPDATE: The buyer did end up paying for the items yesterday, and I dropped it off at the post office in time afterwards. I consdered this resolved, Unless something else were to happen between now and whavever she gets the package.  Much thanks for the help, everyone!
[\end update]

(I hope this is the right place for this. If I’m not making any sense or need me to go more into detail, let me know!)

I’m not sure on what I should do about this situation. Never had something like this happen when it comes to eBay:

Over the weekend, a woman won my non-pony auctions, who has really good feedback (over 1,200 positive, with no negative/neutral ones) and been in communication with her over the last couple of days (she had asked a few question about the items). Going by how she would respond back, she seems like a really nice and friendly person.

After she won the items I had auctioned on Friday and Saturday, she had asked me to send her an invoice for the combined shipping and if she could pay on Monday.  I told her it was fine with me if she paid then, and sent her an invoice late Saturday.

Earlier today (around 1:30am going by when it was sent),  I got a message from her, saying that sometime late yesterday, her van got hit (and destroyed) by a hit and run driver, and had asked if she could pay for the items on the 11th or 12th due to have very little money until then. She did say that if I would rather not do that, she’d understand and try to borrow money from someone. She also apologized about the whole situation and mentioned this never happened to her before.

Part of me is a bit hesitant to let her pay on the 11th and 12th (in fear of not getting the payment at all if I wait that long) but at the same time I don’t want to be a heartless jerk (due to the car accident situation, and I totally understand why she asked if she could pay later). I don’t think she’d lie about something like this and I do want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I guess because of some horror stories I’ve read/heard about some buyers on eBay, I am a bit paranoid about this (if that makes sense).

I’m really torn about this, and not sure what I should do.  D: The items she won wasn’t crazy expensive items or anything (under $10 altogether), but still uncertain about how to handle this. I've been on eBay for a little over a year, so in some ways this kind of situation is new to me. ;_;

I really appreciate the advice/help, and hope my wording made sense. ^^

Pony Corral / Spotted a Comic Con Ditzy Doo at Hot Topic. o.o
« on: April 27, 2013, 08:44:36 PM »
I am still a little surprised about this happening in the first place. I do apologize if someone else mentioned this before here. ^^;
Since I'm in Houston for the weekend, I went to the Galleria mall with my boyfriend and we decided to peek into Hot Topic, since I had the Hot Cash coupon-thing. Looking around in the store, high on a shelf in-between the Funko MLP figures, was a SDCC Ditzy Doo.

(I apologize for the picture quality – took it from my phone and I didn’t want to be too obvious about taking the picture in a store.  D: )

After spotting the Ditzy Doo at the top of the shelf, I went to the employee and asked about it and how much was she (I assumed they were selling her if she was out of the floor/shelf). The employee jokingly told me $100 and then shortly said that he’d ask about it. He went to the guy working at the register, whom said that that Ditzy wasn’t for sale.  Said employee mentioned that she was for a giveaway, but the first employee said “But we had that giveaway months ago!"

Then the register employee then said to me that if I were to spend $200 in the store, he’d let me have it. Honestly, that kind of bugged me considering he had seemed to change his answers in a matter in one minute. ^^;

I am still puzzled and a tad frustrated about the whole ordeal. I wasn’t going to “buy her for $200”, but it kind of bugs me that if she wasn’t for sale, then why was she out where people could see her? I can’t have been the only one that saw her there (this was about 6pm when I was there), and I feel if she wasn’t for sale, they would have made it “obvious” like with a sign or something like that. A part of me wanted to ask if they could take her down from the shelf so I could see her for myself (like see if she had a price tag or her or something), but I felt it would have been a bit much to do that. D:

I guess in the end, I am just wondering one thing: why is/was she at that store? O_o

Arts & Crafts Corral / Milky's Pony Arts '13 [4.12 Update!]
« on: April 04, 2013, 04:40:05 PM »
April 12th, 2013 - Since I don't want to make another topic for future artworks, I thought I'd change the title (if that's okay). Plus, I just finished a new MLP artwork (it's further down this page, hehe)! :D [/update]

Here are two ponies I drew within the last two months, and three other ponies I drew a year or more ago. :D

Apple Fritter is one of my favorite G4 non-Mane 6 ponies, even though she's only been released as a clear blind bag (which is what the coloring was inspired/based on). xD I think she's too cute as a character, and hopefully will come out as an actual brushable. <3

I drew G1 Twilight as a gift to a really great friend of mine who is also an MLP fan. I wanna say Twilight is her fav G1 pony (if not her all-time favorite). Unbeknownst to her, I plan on drawing her Melody from MLP Tales for her birthday next month. Sshhh, don't tell her! ;D

And for extra fun, here is what my friend would look like if she was a MLP. :3 (Drawn in Dec. 2010. xD)

Another friend of mine wanted me to draw her as a "Black Widow MLP". So I did. xD  (Drawn in 2011)

Finally, a pic I did in July 2011 of my boyfriend's "Ponysona" after a humorous conversation with my boyfriend when he said that he "ain't no brony" (he has no problems with FiM and/or MLP; he likes Fluttershy as far as FiM characters go)...but was apparently okay with being paid in sugar-cubes. So I made him a ponysona/Pony OC. xD

Pony Brag Arena / Pony Cake and a Ditzy, oh my!
« on: October 25, 2012, 01:02:05 PM »
Monday evening after/while a friend was helping me practice my driving (I've kinda have a fear of driving since my teens), I drove to Walmart. After hitting out usual toy spots, we ended up by the groceries, specifically the dessert area, and saw a cake:

PONY CAKE! :D
There was no hesitation - we got the cake. It was an extra yay for me because I had been wanting that Molded Applejack for some time, and didn't buy the FiM gift-set when they first came out. I have Applejack, and my friend took the Twilight Sparkle.

Then yesterday I was at Hot Topic with my boyfriend and got lucky that I managed to get this girlie:

I always wanted a Ditzy Doo (Controvery aside, I can kinda relate to her, since I was born with a lazy eye that goes inward when I'm not wearing glasses or "concentrating on it"), but regretting not buying the ComicCon one of her when she was on eBay for a low price. So yay on that! xD She is heavier than I thought she would be. O_o
A bit bothered at that HT, though:
Spoiler
- I was there Tuesday with a friend (same one that took my driving) and asked an employee there about the pony. She had said that they would be getting some in the next day. A few hours before I went to the store yesterday, I had called in and asked about it. The girl that answered said they didn't get/have any in, but also added she wasn't sure if any was coming in that day. When I bought Ditzy, the girl that went and brought her out from the back (of the store) said that she was the last one left, indicating that had some back there earlier in the day. So I'm not so certain if the girl on the phone was being honest or not (I wanna say she was being honest, but I did have an "odd" feeling while talking to her).

A size-comparison pic for fun:

(I apologize if it's old news, but I thought I'd make a topic about it just in case. ^^)

I went to Walmart with a friend of mine and as usual, we always check the toy sections. After going to our usual spots and not seeing anything, my friend decided to go to the health/cosmetics department for a second. I chose to roam the toy aisles for the heck of it, and something was telling me to go into the Clearance section of the toys. Since the last three times I had been to this WalMart I had the instinct to go and check the area, but I opted not to.

Good thing I listened to my instincts after all this time, because I found this:

And there was another one, untouched,  right behind it. o.o

Not sure if this display/kiosk have been out for a while or not (I've only seen the Wave 1's like this, and that was at KMart), but I was surprised and happy because this is the first time I've seen Wave 3's in my city/area. So me and my friend were able to get the Wave 3 ponies we wanted. Well,... not me since I accidentally grabbed a Rarity when I thought I had the "Glow Twilight". ;_;

Pony Brag Arena / Finally Reunited! (+ my apartment collection <3)
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:53:50 PM »
After over ten years, and thanks to an Arena member, I have finally been "reunited" with one of my childhood friends.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Ivy was my first MLP (excluding ones that were handed down to me by family members), and loved her since I had got the McDonalds toy of her in my Happy Meal. After begging my mom constantly as a kid every time I saw the Magic Motions version at the store, I got her as an Easter gift. Sure made my Easter, and honestly one of my top five favorite childhood memories. Oh, the memories of taking my Ivy and putting her underwater, pretending she was a sea-pony because of how her hair would move. xD  Out of all the MLPs I had gotten rid of back then, she was the one pony I really wish I had kept.
So when she came in Saturday and I opened the package, I was so happy and excited. My inner child came out, and I felt like I was finally reunited with a long lost buddy. <3

Two other ponies also came in this last week: Kimono (thanks to another Arena member), and Lyra (FINALLY caught her when Hasbro had her in stock).

And also got lucky and found this at my local grocery store Tuesday. First time ever seeing the Playhouse Puzzles in person, and I wonder how it ended up there ( it was the only one there, never saw them on the shelves at that store beforehand).

Here's my currently collection that are at my apartment, complete with a "blind bag army" (that every time I look at them, I keep thinking they'll do a "Care Bear Stare!". xD I have more MLPs, but I left my MIBs and the McDs at my parent's place. Ivy's a bit camera-shy. ;D

And as a mini bonus, here's what's my entire "collection display shelf" looks like right now. Like with my MLPs, I left most of my MH dolls back home, and my MLP Playhouse Puzzle is usually behind my Winx Musa doll. :

I apologize if this was too long. ^^;

Arts & Crafts Corral / Milky's pony arts. <3
« on: August 21, 2012, 05:13:02 PM »
Trying to get a bit less shy around here and wanted to share some of the pony-related artworks I've done over last year or so. ^^
The name on the watermark(s) is my username on DeviantArt (Mistralla). :3 And some of these are more recent than others, so the "sudden improvement jump/decrease" is why. xD

First off, my Pony OC, Taro Mochipolitan. She's named that because "Taro" is my favorite flavor of bubble tea, "Mochi" because I've always liked how mochi looked (and I think the leaf thing is cute, lol) , and "politan" because of her colors reminded me of Neopolitan ice cream. xD

Princess Cadance

Three of my friends "pony-fied". xD Luminatin' LiquidNitro Green, LunarChele, and MandyBlade, respectively. ;D
(Fun fact with the first one - my friend was pregnant when I was drawing it, and wanted me to make her pony-self pregnant, too. So I gave her a baby bump...that is glowing and summoning dolphins. xD)

A pony version of my NiGHTS fan characters, Kastellu.

And finally for fun, a humanized Celestia. <3 (I'm working on a humanized Luna :D)

Introductions / Hiya!
« on: August 05, 2012, 04:37:13 PM »
Hello everyone! :D I'm Brittany. I've lurked here for a bit and felt I should make an account and talk to people. <3

I've always liked MLP since I watched it on Disney Channel as a kid in the 90's (My Little Pony Tales was one of my childhood favorite shows <3). Although I had a few ponies here and there (with all of those ones being gone or missing now :( ) , I didn't really start collecting [again] until Friendship is Magic came out. Rarity and those cute blind bags got me. xD My collection as a whole right now is kinda small, but it's growing. I plan on trying to get some ponies I've always wanted to get/own years ago, whenever I can. Including ones I no longer have.   <3

As far as favorites go, I've always loved Ivy ever since I got her as a Happy Meal toy in the 90's, and begged my mom to get the Magic Motions(?) version of her for me as an Easter present. xD  She's my number one pony. <3 Also liked Melody from My Little Pony Tales, and Kimono.   From Friendship is Magic, Rarity and AppleJack are my two favorite ones. Princess Cadence is getting up there, though. ;D

I'd love to get to know everyone here! <3  And I hope I made sense earlier. xD
