I had an open mind. Really. I didn’t care if this show was silly or slapstick, I was willing to give it a shot...

And then... I saw Twilight’s mouth.

So uh, in all seriousness... I’ll probably watch these at some point... but I really wish they had gone a different direction with those faces. They’re actually kind of creepy.

This one was better than the last but I kept thinking, "what a shame they worked so hard" LOL

The mouths were better when in expressions.

But they REMIND me of something. Some show from my childhood perhaps. It's driving me crazy that I can't think WHERE I saw those mouths before. Or why they remind me specifically of something when they're really generic...

I do feel sad that this is where MLP has fallen to.
Something that looks like it was created from playdoh in an extras scene from Sesame St.

Or maybe Trapdoor.

I'm loving these shorts. They're so smooth and fluid, it's very clear a lot of love went into making them

Very late to the party here.   

These shorts are okay. I do like the animation, but the constant mouth noises hurts it for me.
And yeah, I totally agree that these kinda make me think of a cute family friendly Robot Chicken. I'm still surprised that series never really touched upon the brony fandom.   

I saw a video that suggested that these shorts might be super simple and saccharine on purpose so that the actual Pony Life series will seem better in comparison, and G5 even more so. Parts of me want to think that given that there's no way Hasbro would devolve so severely and so quickly knowing about their adult fans. Although they could simply be wanting to start over the cycle of getting small kids attention and then slowly indulge them into their franchise more as they age.

Not gonna lie, I flat out loved the newest episode, with the pillow fight. It's so adorable! And though the stop motion characters may look like Pony Life designs, they seem to be keeping well with the established FiM lore (in this one we saw both RD and AJ doing their jobs, and Pinkie has her canon)

The latest short is the best so far. I love the healthy competition between RD and AJ. It didn't border over into obnoxious and overly mean like it sometimes can. And then the end when they all took a little nap was so cute!
