Title: What's your favourite season?
Post by: Loa on February 12, 2017, 03:20:05 PM: I love Autumn, where there are warm blue sky days, and then chilly nights to curl up with.

Post by: gummybuns on February 12, 2017, 04:10:09 PM: Summer, I hate Spring cause everything is wet cause of the snow (Or at least where I live), I hate Winter because I cannot tolerate the cold, I'd much rather prefer being burned alive then frozen to death (Not literally), and I hate Fall because all the trees are dying.
Also as I'm not exactly an adult yet, I still get to enjoy Summer vacation, where I can just sit at home and relax for 3 months.

Post by: zombienixon on February 12, 2017, 04:11:25 PM: We only really have two seasons here. It's mostly Summer, with occasional Winter weather. So Summer is definitely my favorite, since it's about all I'm used to. That and I just prefer warmer weather.

Post by: Bekuno on February 12, 2017, 05:15:42 PM: Autumn! In my area of Texas, our autumns are colder than our winters. The cool crispy air is nice and I love watching the leaves fall. I'll even hit the beach in Autumn just to relax.

Geese and other birds fly back, bugs start coming out, the animals come out after a long winters nap, the rabbits go brown again... and the cherry tree in our backyard becomes a massive ball of pink blossoms. And the bees love it, so the tree is constantly emitting a buzzing sound as the fat bees roll in the pollen.

While in Germany, winter, because it is so cozy to cuddle up at home, drink mulled wine and enjoy the warmth.

Also I'm just weird and I love all of the trees/shrubs/etc. being bare, and the grasses being yellow/brown. Combining that with the green of the occasional evergreen and a grey sky, and it's just so beautiful to me.

Post by: aintnobuffalo on February 13, 2017, 08:55:10 PM: I would have to say Fall and Christmastime are ties for me, maybe Christmastime pulls ahead a bit, but the cold is no fun. I definitely like a little something about each season though. There are days where any season can look picturesque.

I also love autumn, the aesthetic is so amazing.

Winter is cool because Christmas, my favorite holiday!

Spring... I don't like. Early spring is usually when my Seasonal Affective depression is at its worst, and the semester seems to really drag on.

I get overheated very easily and my eyes are sensitive to strong sunlight, so that's the reason why I prefer the colder seasons. Autumn has just the right temperature imo. Not too warm and not too cold. On really hot summer days I don't feel well at all. I usually have a headache because of the heat and the sunlight and I'm sweating like a pig.

I've always been in love with those clear blue sunny days, even when it's hot, but we hardly have them anymore! All we get is hot, humid days that keep you from doing anything at all, and you can forget about getting some good, healthy sleep. And the sky is hazy and ugly. :(

I also love spring, I love seeing how everything is coming back to life. I love the first warm sunlight on my nose, new green and birds everywhere. And blossom! If you feel the same way, you should totally check out Come The Spring by Amorphis (Listen! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq6blaM69hc) :hearts:). You won't find a better salute to spring. :cool:

I also love autumn, because it feels great that the heat is over. You can breathe again, and everything is so beautiful. And you can start thinking about halloween!

Winter, not so much. I like the beginning of it, but I get sick of the cold and bare trees very quickly. By the time it's January I've really had enough. :snow:

I am a winter baby but hate winter - though at this time of the year the UK starts to brighten up a bit. UK seasons are usually quite messed up and blur into one another, but you usually get some sun and pretty flowers and stuff in the spring. Summer can be hot or it can be a lot of rain, depending on where you are. Summer in London is often horrible. Autumn is fine when the leaves are pretty and until the clocks change. After that it's downhill to darkness and winter. My most hated months are November and January, my most loved probably April and May...maybe June.

So spring for me :) Am excited to see spring here in Japan this year. Already lots of plum blossoms around - waiting for the sakura!

We wait and wait and wait and wait and wait, it's muddy and dreary and then we get a nice week and then it's summer full blast already. Winter doesn't even try to hide that it sucks and I love fresh snow.

I agree! Spring is hyped as the end of winter and cold but in reality, where I live it's cold til summer.

I mean, it's not actually "cold" because I live in southern California, but it's usually too chilly for me to wear shorts until July.

At least with winter, it's understood that it'll probably be cold.

Our sunsets are always the most beautiful in September & October. I also LOVE it when the clocks go forward; many people think I'm nuts, but I've always loved that period when it gets dark ridiculously early. It just feels so cosy & appealing to me.

Winter's my second favourite, but now it's almost tied with Spring: birdsong at its peak, seeing the first migrant species arriving, the breeding season, primroses, bluebells & all the other beautiful flowers bursting into life, wild garlic growing in the woods. I heard the first Chiffchaff yesterday & it's put me in such a good mood. :)
I wouldn't say I hate summer, but I dread the heatwaves every year. I'd much rather be too cold than too hot. Plus it's the quietest time of year for birding, & the busiest & noisiest for people. :P
