I personally don't care or think about any generations beyond the first, so it's fine by me if they want to crank out new gens one after the other. My kids are all MLP fans (my oldest is into G1/G2, middle likes G1/G3, and littlest likes them all) and they will like any new pony stuff regardless.

I'm really crap at figuring out photo hosting, apparently. I put most of the ladies from this find on my instagram today, though. You can check them out there. (@mylittellepony)

Pony Brag Arena / I found 12 ponies for $1 each, INCLUDING MIMIC.

I went to the flea market yesterday for the first time in a few months. I've only found G1s there twice, and the second time they were about double Ebay prices so I just kept walking.

Not this time.

I'm still to hyped to even list everyone I found yesterday, but when I saw Mimic I started jumping up and down. There was a baby Quackers, bridal beauty, pina colada, raincurl, and a bunch more. I've bought from this lady before (it's a general toy booth and I have 3 kids.) Her prices are always really fair. I couldn't believe it when she said $1 each. I grabbed the entire table and just started counting them.

I'm not sure what image hosts work here now, but if someone could let me know I'll get some pics up later today. The Mimic is an upgrade for me. I got my other from my sister, and I want to pay forward my good luck so I will be sending my other mimic to my friend who is a new G1 collector.

Customs / Re: How to bake sculpy on a G1 body?
« on: August 25, 2017, 08:43:36 AM »
A lot of the "baits" I'm restoring are missing pieces. Entire legs, ears, horns, parts of faces, etc. I'm comfortable with using sculpy from other art projects and know it can be used for custom ponies, so I figure it will work here. Could someone point me in the right direction when it comes to solidifying the material onto the body? I don't want to melt the original pieces. Thank you!

I learned a trick about sculpy years ago. I was doing a cosplay and trying to create a sculpy buckle directly on a leather belt--which I obviously couldn't put in the oven! I found a solution online: if you boil a big pot of water on top of the stove, you can dunk the sculpy in the boiling water and that will 'cook' it exactly the same as if you cooked it in the oven. It worked great for my cosplay!

I never tried it with a pony, but I am betting this would be a safe alternative to baking a pony in the oven. Best to try with an experimental one first, though. :)

I'll try this out and report back! Thanks.

There is no fix beyond repainting the entire head or body (or both) to match, unfortunately.

She's super cute! I love Story. Love Moonglow too.

Moonglow is my HG across any collection, and I have a lot of collections. I could make her, but I want a legit one. Since she exists out there somewhere I'm going to wait it out. There seems to only be one Stormy so I wasn't holding my breath there lol.

I don't have any of the ponies from this set and I love them all. Someday!

Thanks, everyone! I've repainted her lips since I took that photo because they were too dark and it was bothering me. I'm going to a fabric store today to get the goods to make her clothes. I'll post new photos once those are done.

Mold is the only thing I've ever had to admit defeat over. Everything else I can handle.

The Dollhouse / "Stormy" Rainbow Brite doll (custom)
« on: August 18, 2017, 05:24:07 PM »
I'm usually very against customizing vintage/retro toys, but I had a damaged La La Orange and a damaged dress-up Rainbow Brite (she's not here yet) and decided to save them and make them into dolls I've wanted for years in the process. The former Rainbow Brite will be posted about eventually, but for now here is my "Stormy". I just finished her hair and face today.

I'm going to make her clothes as soon as I can find the right fabrics. For now she's hanging out on my mom's trinket shelf with some of my other Rainbow Brite dolls.

I love instagram. I post my collection @mylittellepony and every day stuff, custom progress, and toy restoration stuff @theroadtoelle. I'm making a custom Stormy doll right now so that's about to be all over my personal ig.
