Thank you all so much!! <3 Even after all these years of customising, I am so flattered when people love something I've made :)

I love the natural, treebranch inspired look of the antlers, I find myself faving drawings of deer with branchlike antlers on DA all the time, haha. The irregular shaped gemstones go so well together with the organic-looking antlers.
I **may** have stalked your dA faves and come to that conclusion ^.^ And I just adored how perfectly the gems went with them.... I also may have spent hours sorting through gems looking for the right size and colour and 'fit' ;) I now have this tray filled with teeny tiny little gems that I want to use on something!
I'll say it again - VERY glad you like her ^.^

So breathtaking! I love those antlers, and my favorite touch is the glowing effect around the makings. It came out perfect!
Thanks NoD! I spent aaaages trying to get the glow to look authentic and just right. In the end I think theres 2, maybe 3 shades of green pastels, a little pearlex and a wee bit of crazy to get it to look right.

Moriko - whose name means child of the forest, is a healer and protector of the forest.
Her magic is as old and timeless as the forest itself, and the glen where she was born is the source of that magic. It glows green, just like the light which filters through the leaves and floods the glen.
To remind her of the cycle of life and death, she wears the skull of a bird whose time had come. She had mourned the great bird, and come to the realisation that all life remains connected, even in death, and then her magic called forth the gigantic horns which protrude from the skull. She has strung them with crystals to help her heal the forest’s inhabitants, and the ribbons which were gifts from her friends in the forest.

Griffin mentioned on her swap form that she liked the idea of a forest protector or a shaman, so I pretty much ran with that, and her colour choices of earthy colours like brown and green.
Bait is a rarity who came to me with her horn missing. Airbrushed in a gorgeous custom shade of brown, then given darker gradients along her muzzle, legs and down her back (kinda like a deer, which was something which featured in a few of Griffin's inspiration pics). These were then given some highlights using pastels to really add some depth.
Her magic runes were first painted white, then I used pastels to create a green glowing effect, before they were painted with Pearlex pigments to really create a shiny glow. My pics don't do them justice I'm afraid - they look gorgeous ^.^

Her skull and horns were challenging! Griffin had mentioned she liked antlers with things tangled in them and I must confess - I do too, so it was an easy choice! She also mentioned liking bird skulls, so I ran with that. Originally, my bird skull was going to be hollow and delicate and more skull like, but unfortunately those giant antlers needed way more support than my delicate little skull could offer and it ended up crushed under their weight!
Her antlers were wired up and attached to the mesh form I created for the skull then sculpted with Magic Sculpt. I tried to keep them quite natural and organic looking but with a definite tree like element to them. They were painted with acrylics, and detailed using pastels. Her runes run across the skull too, and both she and her skull have eyes glowing with the magic running through her.
To complete the headpiece, I found out Griffin's favourite flowers and used them. That was also painted with Pearlex pigments so its shimmery and pretty. First attempt at sculpting lilies, and I'm pretty pleased with them!

To finish Moriko's look, I made all the things to tangle in her antlers! I made them removeable so Griffin has the option to use as many or as few as she'd like, in whatever configuration she wants! Her crystals are actual gemstones on gold chains. She also has some beads, a butterfly, ribbons and some suede ^.^

She was sealed with MSC and gloss on her shining bits. Hair is Chocolate Fudge, Butterscotch, Pumpkin Spice, Nutmeg and Caffeine (all from Dollyhair).

Thank you everyone!!! <3

OMG! If you think you suck at flowers and they look that fantastic I'd love to see something you believe you are good at.
Zombies :) Give me blood splatter and bones and gorey bits and I'm good. Or even dark and twisted and creepy.
Ask me to paint flowers and I agonise over them and complain endlessly to Jupi about how imperfect they are, or how stupid they look, or in the case of this piece that the red flowers look like red blobs with yellow dots attacking them (they went through several attempts before I settled on this one). Poor Jupi gets to hear all my neurotic rants <3

Up first is Eternal:

Made for AusMLP.
Memorial gift for my dear friend <3 I ran with shades of purple and native wildflowers for her theme - so Eternal is covered in Australian wildflowers - which was a learning curve for me because I suck at painting flowers :P I decided to give her space and stars instead of normal eyes, because stars and space are as eternal as love.
Airbrushed in shades of purple, flowers and eyes all done with artist grade acrylics. Eternal was then given highlights using pearlex pigments, to create depth and shine.
Hair is Amethyst, Sour grapes and ultraviolet (from dollyhair) as well as 6 custom dyed shades of purple using Starlight.
Sealed with MSC and gloss for some parts :)

Next is Mia:

One of my former commissioners contacted me wanting a simple pony for a friend's child. She wanted an Elsa/Frozen kind of feel to the pony.
Pony was airbrushed pale blue and her symbols hand painted using artist grade acrylics. I did a paler blue, very simple snowflake swirl design then her name in darker blue over the top. Which was then accented with glitter because glitter ;) The i is dotted with one tiny swarovski :)
The other side has her birthday and more glitter :)
Hair is Buttercreme, Honeysuckle and Marshmallow (all dollyhair).
Sealed with MSC and gloss for some parts :)

Thanks for looking!! <3

Suzie started life as a G4 zilla, who was airbrushed hot pink and given gradients and a pretty lace stocking effect up her legs. The images covering her are based on my friend's tattoos, which are pretty old, so most of the lines have become blown out over the years, so I had to improvise a few of them (and given the places they are in, I won't be posting ref pics of them ;) ) I debated whether or not to recreate them, or whether to completely update and redo them, but in the end settled with recreating them, as I know they are very special and meaningful for their owner ;)
Pink happens to be friend's favourite colour, so I used a variety of different shades of pink ^.^
Hair is custom dyed snowflake (several different batches and shades to give depth) which goes from a lovely soft pink into a more vibrant dark pink.
Airbrushing was done with artist grade acrylics. Some of the detail work was done with acrylics too, but to try and recreate that soft tattoo style of shading, I used pastels - much of the wolf and pegasus were done this way.
Lots of sealing with MSC, and gloss on the eyes.
This girl was a devil to photograph - of the THREE sessions I did with her, none of her pics in the lightbox showed her true colours very well, so I did some outdoor pics which are better at showing her colour, but don't show some of her details.... like that her legs are highlighted with pearlex pigments to give shimmer. Her eyes were painted with pearlex pigments and acrylics.
Her legs are embellished with swarovski crystals and around her eyes are some heart shaped crystals ^.^

Her dA has a heap of better detail shots of the tattoos, and that can be found -> http://deepdarkcreations.deviantart.com/art/Suzie-492448452
Thank you for looking!!

Customs / Re: DotD Raven girl for NoD - Halloween Custom swap *Many Pics*
« on: October 30, 2014, 05:16:45 PM »
This is a perfect and incredible piece!! I adore the details - the ravens up the legs made me swoon a little, and I adore the muted colour palette you used - its absolutely stunning. I adore your detail painting - the rose is beautiful and the symbol is just gorgeous. I love the sculpted costume - the mask is brilliant and I love how much detail you got into it, and those wings!
All in all, this is beyond amazing and NoD better watch out because one day I might sneak into her house and steal it while she sleeps ;)

Thanks everyone!

It wouldn't be a proper Halloween without a PoD zombie pony. :)
 I actually had another zombie I was hoping to have finished for Halloween, but I haven't had a chance to finish airbrushing her!

Both made with G4s (teeny tiny little pony means teeny tiny little bones which I just LOVE!), sculpting done with Magic Sculpt. Painted with a mix of artist grade acrylics, pearl paint and fluoros. Sealed with MSC, gloss and triple thick. Normal persona is rehaired with Sour Apple Martini, Key Lime, Envy, Heart throb and 2 shades of custom dyed snowflake. Zombie version is rehaired with custom dyed blizzard in several different shades (all hair is from Dollyhair)

These recently arrived with Neon, and she loves them!

Why is she sold already:(
**giggles** Because Jupi sent me her WIP pics to ask an opinion and I started throwing money at the screen :P

Absolutely gorgeous!! I adore the concept and your execution is magnificent!! I LOVE the shutters and the window, and that hair blend is stunning - but those eyes are my favourite part! ^.^
