Pony Corral / Re: Which do you prefer? Big to small or small to big?
« on: April 22, 2024, 02:57:51 AM »
I like ponies of all sizes,  but I prefer my ponies big (and brushable), so I'd really like to see the petites etc made into regular sized ponies :awake:

The UK ads were prolly the same as the US ones or very similar. They used to have a girl singing "I'm a my little pony mommy I love my pony family' then whatever type of pony they were advertising would show - something like that anyways. The kid (it was always a little girl in the 90's) who had the pony herd was called their "mommy" so that's where the name comes from.

NFT. So you don't actually get a physical pop, just a digital image?

From what I understand, you get an NFT image thingy, and then if you get that then you have a chance to win a physical POP figure in a lottery or something? It's a real mess.

 really? that's crazy

I love RH dolls and I've got quite a big collection  ...although I'm not loving that they brought back slime this year (  :X)  ). I wish the latest dolls still had the wrist articulation and the extra bit of leg articulation too, but overall they're still pretty cute :lovey:

Both are cute and of course I wouldn't say no to Takara ponies but I chose piggies because I already have a few in my collection and they remind me of happy times :lovey:

Maybe she's a re-tail with the head glued back on? but if that's the case someone did it a long time back. She kinda looks like she's had an interesting life, no?
Then again some very odd variants / factory errors have turned up in the past ..so why not? it's possible  ^.^

I saw on social media that some of the BF Gingerbread ponies are starting to get the yellowing "age spots" already!
No way!! that's so bad :whoa:   why?!  :what:  even the originals didn't get them that quickly, and there are still some originals without them. Basic Fun Gingerbread should've been good for years and years. I'll keep checking mine now  :lookround: :yikes:

Off Topic / Re: Do you collect other things besides ponies?
« on: April 09, 2024, 07:04:31 AM »
I have a lot of collections besides ponies  *tells self I'm not a hoarder!!!!* :yikes:  , but my main ones ATM are
*Disney Frozen and Tangled - I like the dolls best (Elsa, Hans, Anna, Kristoff, Rapunzel, Eugene) but I also collect merch and ..ok.. I admit it basically anything related to these movies. I really don't like Frozen 2 though, nor the doll molds used for Disney Store Frozen dolls from F2 til now, but anything before 2019 is good!)
* Rainbow High dolls
*Books
* Cats! they come to me, honest!!!
*Sailor Moon
*art and crafting stuff
(older collections include Barbie, Sindy, Shopkins Shoppies dolls, and Ever After High)
I don't really count my DVD's, music CD's/vinyl , plants or Italy related stuff as collections... but... you might

Sigs & Site Support / What happened to my post count?!
« on: April 09, 2024, 04:05:08 AM »
Hi! long time no chat! life has been crazy, so sorry for the MIA, thankfully I'm aliive and I'm back!
But something weird happened while I was gone  :what:  I fixed my missing avatar pic, but my post count has dropped by loads???!! over half my posts are gone.  I know my status changed cos I'm not a Mod now but I had over 20,000 posts.. something like 23,000+ at one point and now I have less than 10,000? *Ringlets has a confused* :drunk:
Not sure if there is a record of my exact old post count anywhere? Can it be fixed? can anyone tell me what happened? please and thanks  :lovey:

Basic toothpaste is also awesome for getting rid of rust on those weights in sea ponies (like it works for tail rust on normal ponies), but I'm glad your pony wasn't all rusty - most are pretty bad!!   I would definitely recommend oxyclean/Vanish oxyaction or similar to make sure there are no nasties growing in there as well. The nail polish is new to me, but sounds like a good idea :bigups:  if the weight is really bad you can try and sand off the rust after cleaning, or if it's beyond salvaging then using a marble like it suggested on the restoration site is also a good idea.
Ooh the sea pony shown on that site with the bad rust, the nasty weight inside and then the after pic - those pictures are mine, and I'm credited on there for them  heehee I forgot about that!! she was a good example of how a reeeally bad condition sea pony can still clean up nice  ^.^  :lovey:

Pony Corral / Re: Twinkle Eye Question
« on: April 09, 2024, 03:34:06 AM »
I actually think it can be pretty random though they tend to be harder plastic more often. I have a massive army of the Gingerbread pose (it's my fave)  as well as the rest of the set of TE's in other poses but only some of mine are rock hard and some are more squishy  :awake:

(Gingerbread pose is also Ringlets pose of course. Slightly OT but it was originally a female pose and still is to me, it was only used as a male pose in the UK at the very end of G1 around the mid 90's for Sportstime and the last lot of Daddy ponies. Before the Mountain Boys and Big Brothers there were no adult "male" ponies officially as toys and all the official males had feathered hooves apart from baby Lucky and baby Clipper. The boys have always been hard plastic but the ponies in my fave pose are not all hard, some of my Ringlets army for example are quite soft. Just saying  )
