Awww, they look just as cute as the vintage ones! I hope they do all of them. They never sold the bunnies or ponies in Germany, and I'd love to get one.

I remember how exciting it was to find out how many where inside. I think we had a cat and a bunny, so I hope those will show up at some point too!

Oh my Ra I would be THRILLED if they re-released the kitties and they looked as nice as these puppies do!!! My childhood Kitty Surprise is one of my most treasured possessions, and I bet she'd like having an extended family. :)

Im with Ponyfan on this, I always wanted one but never got it. I tend to find the vintage babies of Puppy Surprise on local fleamarkets every now and then, but never bought them...
My daughter just saw it and immidiately screamed "How coool, I WANT one!!" lol.

Wow, they look just like the originals too. I got my original Puppy Surprise for Christmas as a child. I ended up with 5 puppies. My parents couldn't believe it as I just kept pulling more puppies out. I hope they come out with the other surprise animals too.

I am so excited to see these. I will probably need one for nosyalgic reasons. I still have all my childhood ones and those I find second hand. I have a few dogs and cats, a pony, a rabbit and a surprise pet too. I used to get the extra babies you could buy separately. Just love this line!

I used to have a Puppy Surprise when I was younger! It was the one released in 2005-ish. I think I had a pink poodle? I don't have the mom anymore, but I think I have one or two of the pups within the depth of my closet. If they come into my Target, I'd be hard pressed not to get one.

We went to both Targets. I got mine at the first one and it's a good thing because some jerk had ripped into all of them at the second store.

Re release Puppy Surprise!?? I NEED these! I have no room but I need them! :lol: They were my favorite toy other than MLP! I had a puppy, kitty, bunny, and pony :) All had three babies (two girls and one boy)

I still remember what I named each of them and I still have all of them :satisfied:

Well it seems there are at least slight differences (tho none that detract for their awesomeness). The mothers seem to have sparkly fur this time and the pups are slightly different.

I love them and got 5 of the vintage ones and some special babys (in pyjamas, swimming, squirting) and was excited when I saw these but I really dislike the new pups- the material, the face...naaah...
But I still hope they will release more pets and over here and will buy them  :blush:

I saw a couple of these today. A pink/white one and a purple/white one. Is there a way to tell if one has more puppies than another one? Are the ones with more puppies fatter? I'd love to get one with 5 puppies. :)

I got mine today!!  :biggrin: Gonna open her up and see how many pups she has. I literally freaked out when I realized this was real, Ive seriously had DREAMS like this!  :lovey:

I really hope they do well and they continue the line as well. I want kitties and bunnies and ponies!!  I noticed that they brought back pound puppies as well in their original state, they were next to them.

Yay! I love Puppy Surprise! I still have mine from when I was little. Actually I still have my Puppy Surprise, Kitty Surprise, Pony Surprise, Bunny Surprise, and Cub Surprise. :P I love that these look so much like the originals, I will definitely be getting one! :biggrin:

I remember they remade them but not like how they used to be.  If they do Kitty Surprise I have to get it.  I had one as a kid but donated it to the salvation army. :cry:

Personally, I do believe that I prefer the mommy dogs.  The mommy cats look a bit weird.  Is curious to know what the kittens look like though.

Kitty Surprise is back too! I had the babies that were sold separately but never got the kitty surprise mom. The calico one on the back looks cute. Must......resist.....have.....too.....many....stuffed....animals.....already.

I have a Siamese kitten from Kitty Surprise (but not the mama) and I have a foal from the pony version...

The Dalmatian is really cute. I watched the new commercial and it said 1 in 5 Puppy Surprises has 4 or 5 puppies so I guess most have 3.  I'm really hoping I get one with 4 or 5 puppies.

I will be giving my Toys r us a ring tomorrow to see if they have the kitty in stock I will take pics if they do :3. They also have the puppy at my work so if no kitty I will be picking up the purple dog <3

Same here. All my originals were in real looking colors. For these I will probably be getting the Dalmatian and the Calico. :)

I love fantasy colors but I also love calicos and torties (all my cats so far have been torties) so I'm kinda torn. With dogs tho it's fantasy colors all the way.

The older kittens were cuter but the new ones are cute enough. At least they are cuter than the Playskool ones. (Tho I thought those were kinda cute as well)

How exciting! When I first saw the picture of these on store shelves, I thought it was a photo from the 90's XD Really cool how the mamas look just like the old ones. Too bad the babies look so different-- I don't like the look of the puppies OR the kittens, and it's an odd contrast to the style of the adults. (Especially the eyes...the adults have that 90's style eye that ALL dolls in the 80s and 90s had, and the babies have Bratz eyes or something.)

Still very excited. I really like that calio cat....here's hoping they make the other animals too! I think I had at least one of every animal back in the 90s....now I have a couple ponies/foals a couple dogs/puppies and some kittens, but no mama cats and no bunnies or bears.

The puppies look like they have the same exact eyes as the mother but the kittens have a lot more white to the eyes.

I finally found a store with a pretty good stock of Puppy Surprise. I looked at every one the store had and picked the one that looked the fattest. I was hoping that meant she had more puppies than the others. She only had three puppies though.  I was hoping I would get at least 4 puppies. All of my puppies were girls.  :)

Is Sugar an exclusive?  She isn't even on the TRU Puppy Surprise boxes and Gigi is there instead but she wasn't at Walmart either.

She wasn't marked exclusive when I saw her at Target. At least I don't think she was..... I haven't seen her anywhere since that time but they are flying off the shelves here.

I'm glad they are popular too. Most stores I've seen them in only have 1 or 2. Toys R Us was the first place I found a good selection. I've only seen Sugar at Target but I checked the Sugar I found today and there's nothing on her box that says she's an exclusive. She is the one I've seen the least often if you don't count Gigi since she's exclusive to Toys R Us. 

I'm hoping these are popular enough that they make extra puppies to go with them.

I just sold my vintage near mint one with 3 puppies not too long ago...they really look like the originals, though i agree...I think the puppies from the older sets are cuter, though these are appealing too! I think I may get one each for the neice and nephew!

I wish they would sell individual surprise babies like they did in the 90's. I don't remember ever getting a mommy but I remember you could get babies in little sleeping bags and I had some of those. Not a fan of the face changes though, too generic looking.

Does anyone know if these are about the same size as the vintage ones and how much are they? Also, can you find the pink one anywhere or is it exclusive?

I wish the cats weren't TRU exclusives.  I would love a cat.  I have yet to pick out a Puppy Surprise even though I have seen them.  They are getting harder to find in store though.  Walmart was out and Kmart had one but they were priced at $30!  I still have so many vintage ones.  I should really get pictures and post them.  I loved these toys as a kid.  Is there a website for the new ones yet or even commercials?

I saw the commercial on TV the other day! I got way too excited I think. :P

They had like 5 at Target last time I went, but my Toys R Us still has a big empty space. Hoping they will get them soon, because I want a Kitty and a Dalmatian and it looks like those are both TRU exclusives.

I dug my original puppy, kitty, bunny, pony, and cub surprise out of storage the other day. I should take some pics of them to post. :)

I had Puppy, Kitty, and Pony Surprise! I distinctly remember putting chicken eggs in them so they would hatch and that didn't work so my mom took them away.....

Thanks, that's really kind of you.  I'm not even sure how much they are worth (the vintage ones).  I may just try to get the new one in stores.  I mostly miss my vintage one because it was something I had as a kid and I may seem obsessive but it wouldn't be the same (same feeling I mean). I know it doesn't make sense when I'm trying to get the new one.  Sorry if I seem confusing.  :lookround:

I got snow kitty and zoey puppy for my birthday! They are my favorite birthday gifts hahah my mom doesn't understand at all, tried to explain to her when she called this morning that when I was little I never got to have the name brand puppy surprise but my friends did. XP

With the box it would be heavy, but otherwise theyre just like any other plush so theyre fairly light  ^.^

Has anyone else had trouble with the puppies/kittens coming out with marks/dirt on them?  I pulled out the two bigger puppies and they both had stuff on their faces.  One rubbed off but the other won't.  Does Hasbro do anything through customer service for stuff like that like Mattel does with MH dolls does anyone know?

I'm guessing they think that little girls are not interested in getting boy babies as much.  They seem to be very far and few between.  The vintage ones seemed to have more.

My Popcorn had 3 girls two purple puppies and one white one. The white one is the runt. She's my favorite of the puppies. :) She is also the one with the most flaws with several marks on her face.

YAY!!! I am so excited to get one for my daughters Christmas!! I think I had 2 when I was little and I found a picture of me with one that I had. I saw them at Walmart last week but I couldn't get one because I had my daughter with me...and her memory is getting too good now to quietly sneak Christmas presents into the cart without her paying attention. I am getting kind of worried that they might be hard to find?? The prices are already jacked up on Ebay but I am hoping it is because they just came out......and not because they are going to be a Turbo Man/ Tickle Me Elmo :lol:

They are just released. I think she meant sometimes as in some targets have gotten them in. They don't last long anywhere around here though. So far I've seen them at TRU, Walmart, and Target. They are always there one time and gone the next though. Then they restock and then gone again. It's kinda crazy. Might be some early Christmas shopping though.

OK so I finally managed to get to TRU today with the intention of getting a Kitty Surprise.  They had the one that was all pink and the one that was mostly white.  I was going to get the pink one, because I had a pink one as a kid but there was also more white than the one they remade did so I didn't get it.  Basically it was too pink. :P  So, I picked the one called Snow.  I was so excited.  I got home and it had three babies, one boy and two girls like I had as a kid.  I realized that the remake is much smaller than the original Kitty Surprise and so are the babies.  That usually happens.  However, I didn't feel as happy or as nostalgic as I thought I would be.  I got it to remember the one I had as a kid and it doesn't matter which one I bought (meaning the remake) but I didn't feel as happy about it as I thought I would.  I don't know why.  :lookround: :(

Went to ToysRus today..they had a big section for them. They were a bit picked over...they had a lot of Popcorn's left (white puppy with pink ears), one dalmation, and one Zoey (all pink). Puppy Surprise! I remember these! :D

I remember seeing commericals of these while my parents and I were in England, and I also remember seeing them in some Argos catalogues. I really wanted to have one, but I never got one... though I think I still might have one baby, that we bought second-hand, stashed somewhere amongst our plushies.

I'm glad they're making a comeback. Have to take a trip to a local TRU to see if they have them in stock: I'm really tempted to get one. *cue in my wallet weeping in saddness*

I found the Puppy Surprise at Canadian Tire stores over the weekend, they have them in stock for Christmas. It brings back SO many memories! I loved my Puppy Surprise as a child, although one of our ferrets (appropriately named Mischief) would find my puppies and steal them away and hide them in her little nest behind my brothers dresser. It made me SO mad when I was little, but I remember it with a laugh now :lol: she looked pretty adorable hopping along holding a "puppy" by the back of the neck. I really wanted to buy one right away XD I was torn between Sugar and Popcorn, plus that $39.99 pricetag!! They mark their toys half off after Christmas, so maybe I'll wait for the sales after Boxing Day ^.^

Love the pics Kaoskat!! I have the pink kitty surprise tucked away for my daughters Christmas. I meant to check the price and see how much they were there but I forgot.

Oh wow!  I love them!  I was so excited to see all of these posted on the TRU website for sale.  I loved these sooo much as a kid, and I'm so tempted to buy one for my niece for christmas, but I've already gotten her so much pony stuff it would make your jaw drop.  I think I like Popcorn the puppy the best!

I found an original pony surprise at a market on Sunday, she has 3 foals in is near prefect condition! I will post pics tomorrow XD  I may be tempted to buy a new kitty surprise.  I remember my friends had puppy surprise as a child and I always wanted one!  I finally got my ponies for $5.00!

I think it's awesome that they're being released but... I can't say I like the babies all that much. The over "prettified" faces just don't work for me. I mean, they all look female which is a real downer. Sure the old ones had lashes too, but they weren't so extreme. :\ Its a shame, I adored these as a kid and had a bunch of them.

I had the chance to see one of the Kitty Surprises in person, but I wasn't too thrilled.  But then again, I was always a bigger fan of the Pony Surprises (I have four of the old ones -- two of the bigger laying down ones and two of the second wave of smaller ones).  If they rereleased Pony Surprises, I'm sure I'd buy them in a second!  :lol:

These are so cute! I never had Puppy Surprise (or any of the other animal Surprises) when I was a kid, but my cousins and some friends did. I don't feel too tempted to buy one for myself, but I wonder if my niece or nephew would like one...they're too cute not to buy for someone! When we visit them at Christmas, if we see one in a store or on a commercial I'll have to figure out whether they would like one. XD

Hey there, I was shopping at target today and looking at the mlp (and a TON of them were on clearance... just at 30% off, waiting for them to get to 70% hopefully this week??) and I saw the new Puppy Surprise toys, which I didn't even know existed now! I never heard anything about them bringing them back.

Anyway, usually these things are priced $39.99, and now they are like rougly $11... 70% off the original price.
I think they are super cute, but I kinda feel guilty getting one for some reason.. probably because i'm a 20 year old who wants a cute dog that has puppies, idk, seems weird.

Should I get one?? Arghh... please help!  :drunk: What would you do?

Get one!   They are so cute! I want one so bad.....If you go to Toys R Us they have special Puppy Surprise, I think that one is a Dalmatian.    There is also kitty ones that are only at Toys R Us, but at like 11 dollars, I would get Puppy surprise from Target first to see if you like it. :D

Thank you. Jennifer2004 made it.   :)  I got a Popcorn Puppy surprise months ago and today I got a Kitty Surprise. I really wanted Snow (the white one) but my Toys R Us only had  Sunshine (the pink one) I didn't want to miss getting a Kitty surprise at all so I got Sunshine today and if Snow comes back in stock I'll get her.  I haven't opened Sunshine yet so I don't know how many kittens she has. 

Don't feel bad about wanting a Puppy Surprise Rosey Posey. :) If I found another one for $11 I'd buy one too.

It says on the box I think or I read it somewhere that 1 in 5 puppies can have either the 4 or 5. I have Popcorn and Sunshine. It is a little disappointing...when you reach in for another puppy but its only 3!!! I haven't gotten any boys yet either....I did get a set of twins with the kitty surprise though which was cool.

And nice choice Rosey Posey!!!! I think Sugar is actually my favorite even though I don't have her (besides Maple). Those little purple puppies are adorable.

I know what you mean GloomyGirl. When I opened my Popcorn and Sunshine to see how many babies they had when I found only 3 I checked to make sure I hadn't missed one that was hiding. I got 3 girls with my Popcorn and 1 boy and 2 girls with Sunshine. :)  I might still get Snow also.

I got puppy today! There was a loud noise and a bit of dancing in public when she was found.
HavAcrumpet452 and I were digging at the goodwill bins... Puppy had 2 babies inside and then upon later inspection my cohort found 2 more in the same bin!

I didn't know these existed until kitty was found over the summer. Maybe I was too old for them when they were released in the early 90's...

Without further ado some pics:

Today there was this one, I found 2 other Surprise critters but didn't keep them. HavAcrumpet452 got a solid white dog (no babies) there also was the black and white spotted horse (no babies). When it rains it pours with these...

I found my beloved Puppy Surprise in my closet! Does anyone have an idea how much mine would be worth nowadays? I saw Puppy Surprise sets on ebay, but not the "sleepy-eyed" set, so I wonder whether its just hard to find, or if no one but me liked that one enough to buy it lol!

I have one adult mom, with her two twin puppies, and one kitten. I used to tie shoelaces around the puppies and pretend I was taking them for a walk.
The mom and puppies are from the "sleepy surprise" set, where the puppies' eyes appeared open or closed depending on the temperature. The kitten was from one of the "surprise outfit" sets, but the outfit has long since been lost (I'm pretty sure it was a sombrero and blanket). All the animals are in near mint condition.

I squeeed to see the new mommies, but I don't like the new babies near as much as the vintage ones. I probably won't buy the new ones, but its really made me want to start collecting the ones from the '90s! *looks around for sales*

Thought I would post this for anyone interested. I went to Target today and they are carrying the kitty surprises now. They even had Maple which I thought was a ToysRus exclusive. They didn't have the dalmatian dog so I am not sure if they are going to have that one or not.

I really wanted to get Maple but I couldn't spend 24 dollars on her at the moment.....oh well.......

My Snow had 5 kittens.  :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: My Popcorn and Sunshine only had 3 each. The store I got Snow at only had one Snow. I didn't have my hopes up to get more than 3 this time and I got 5!  :cheer:


I don't see as many Sugars as I do the other dogs. I see Popcorn the most.

Same here, I finally got Sugar and I ended up with all girl puppies.  :lol: Wanted one boy at least but I got a runt so it kinda made up for it. I do hope for the singles though.

If anyone in the UK is still looking for a Kitty, Smyths Toys has them!! They had Snow and Sunshine today, I didn't see Maple but she is on the back of the boxes, so she might show up eventually.

I'd given up hope of ever getting my hands on one of the new Kitty Surprises! I got Snow :) Haven't opened her yet so idk how many babies she has.

I have seen Maple in regular stores now, not just TRU.  I still need to get a Kitty Surprise and now they are adding to the line...oh my wallet.  I thought I wanted Maple the most but I think maybe I really want Snow instead.

I saw some of the new Kitty Surprises at Toys R Us today. They come in purple boxes with a "Only at Toys R Us" sticker on the box. The new moms are Rosie, Iris and Autumn. Snow also is in this set but she looks identical to the Snow they had last year except for the box color.

Didn't Kmart's site accidentally have the Walmart exclusive EAH SU Kitty doll listed? Kmart's website has always been weird.

The one thing that is bugging is is didn't Just Play say that Kitty Surprise was no longer going to be a TRU exclusive? I wonder why they are backtracking on that.

Rosie is pink and looks very much like Sunshine to me.  Snow (pink box) and Sunshine are no longer TRU exclusives and can be bought at other stores. I don't know if the same is true for Maple since I've never seen her outside Toys R Us.  If they are there the next time I go I'll try to get a pic.  I'm not sure why they re-released Snow as a Toys R Us exclusive jus in a different colored box.

EEP!!So much new stuff! I wish they weren't so expensive. I saw the new pony ones the last time I went to ToysRus. I resisted getting one but it was VERY tempting. I love Autumn too and the 25 anniversary pup. My daughter has Rosie (and her 5 kittens! o_0 ) I can grab some pics tomorrow.

My kids loooove puppy surprise and each got one for Christmas. I think the "parent" animals all look cute, but their babies aren't half as cute as the babies were when I was a kid. They're not cute at all now imo.

DD got Starburst the unicorn this year from her aunt. Only 3 ponies inside though, kinda bummed. She keeps asking for a Kitty Surprise to complete her 'collection' LOL she got Puppy last year for Christmas; by the time next Christmas rolls around, I bet there will be another new type. Oh boy.

My 6yo saved up her money and bought a Kitty Surprise (Snow)--she was so bummed she only got 3 babies (3 babies in each of her puppy, horse, and kitty so far). It's funny, all of the babies have been girls with their eyes open. The babies in the Kitty Surprise I had when I was growing up were so much cuter!

I had a Kitty Surprise back in the day and without thinking I donated it to the salvation army a while back.  My Mom made me donate most of my stuffed animals, because she said I had too many.  I had the pink and white one.  I wanted a pony surprise, but never got one.  I did buy a kitty surprise from the new line but gave it to my niece after a bit, because it didn't have the same vibe.  I wish they did more natural colors with the new pony surprise, then I might get it.

Looks like one of Cleo's kittens meows? That's kinda cool; I was wondering if we'd get more gimmicky kittens since at least one of the pups barks. Cleo herself is very cute (she reminds me of Marie from Aristocats with her multiple pink bows :D), I'm not sure that I'd get her though (not really a fan of noisy toys).

but ohhhh my gosh that silver Kitty!!! I NEED her! I love silver tabby cats so much, omg ;A; I love her. Not really a fan of the pink/purple kitties honestly - I like non-realistic coloured animals and all, but these are a little too wild even for me. Too bright. Maybe they'll look better in more natural lighting.. I wish they'd mix up the colours a little more with the Kitties, give them some interesting colour combos, instead of having most of them be one colour + white. If that makes sense? (I'm kinda disappointed there's another rainbow puppy and *still* no rainbow/tie-dye kitty..)

I've bought Popcprn, Sunshine and Snow and only Snow had 5 babies. Popcorn and Sunshine each had 3. 

I still haven't gotten a Pony Surprise yet.

I was surprised to see the bunnies because I thought they were going to come out a little later.  I love the new dog from Toy Fair. :)

I finally got Moonlight today. Also I saw a Bunny surprise at Walmart.  I thought they were supposed to be TRU exclusives?

I agree. the Bear Surprise look a little off to me but I never had one of the originals. I do like that they made a panda and a sort of polar bear.

Has anyone seen Bunny Surprise in the UK? I've been keeping an eye out for them for months now to no avail, kinda worried they won't be released over here :x.

I saw Safari Surprise Duchess and Bianca (the two leopard/cheetahs) at Smyths Toys yesterday :) Wasn't sure if we were getting any more of these over here so it was a pleasant surprise.

I have heard that, at least for the time being, the Safari ones are UK exclusive.
