Everyone is welcome! If you've been a customizer for decades or have never made a custom, you may participate! Fakies are fine to use!
This is not a swap! You will not be shipping or receiving a pony. You may do with your finished custom what you wish.
This is a
challenge where guidelines are set and you make a custom based on those guidelines.
How does it work?Options were gathered from members for each category. These options are then placed into a poll where other members (and those participating) get to vote on one or more. The voting is open for seven days and when finished, the option with the most votes is the one the challenge uses.
Here are the poll options:
Polls 1, 2 & 3 - Colors: Body, hair, eyes
Polls 4, 5 & 6 - Theme, symbols, markings
Polls 7 & 8 - Accessory, required material (these are not mutually exclusive)
Polls will run weekly. This will give time to collect votes and for us to brainstorm and prepare our custom.
Why should I join? This is a meant to be a fun challenge. It's a way to push yourself to use or do things maybe you've never done before. Beginners can use it as a step-by-step for making a custom. It's interesting to see how everyone interprets the prompts and the pony they make! There will be prizes!
Prizes?Yes! Everyone that follows the prompts will be placed in a random drawing for some fun prizes!
This thread is a place for us to chat!
If you'd like to participate, just say so! There will be a list but it's mainly for me to keep track of people.
This not an eligible event for feedback. There are no commitments. If at anytime you no longer wish to participate, you are perfectly able to walk away without repercussions. If you can't finish or you miss any of the prompts you will not be placed in the prize pool. But don't let that keep you from joining! Give it a try!
The list of prompts will be posted here so it's easy for you to find.

FAQSQ.
For the body colors, would we pick one of the three, or incorporate all three into the main body somehow?A. You need to use all three somehow. Like you can use one for the body, one for the symbols and one for the secondary markings. Or all three for the body if you want to do gradients or something.
And everyone remember you can use any hue, tint, tone or shade for the colors chosen.

loginQ.
If animal companion gets picked for the accessory, does it have to be a fake one? And would a Bushwoolie count as an animal companion?A. It has to be something you make yourself. A Bushwoolie would be fine.
Q.
1. We are allowed to use additional colours, right? In small details I mean. Not trying to introduce a fourth body colour. Just checking if the detail painting can involve other colours, as well as black and white of course. Surely this isn't going to be a monochrome (multichrome? ) design?
2. By symbol (sparkles) do you mean an additional detail that must be included somehow? Not like symbol = cutie mark? That might be a bit awkward considering the theme Although I'm probably planning to incorporate the sparkles into the pony's symbol anyway.A. Yes and yes. You can use other colors but the poll winner colors must be used too. And yes, add sparkles however you’d like.
Q.
Would resin count as a plastic for this challenge?A. Hmm. I'm going to say yes.
Q.
What about making WIP threads for our challenge ponies? Or would that clog up the forum too much? Or maybe we could post in this thread?A. I thought about this and I think it would be better to not show anything until we're finished. To see how others interpreted everything is part of the fun. Also, I worry that people might subconsciously borrow ideas and the challenge is coming up with everything yourself.
You are welcome to show progress somewhere else though. I can't tell you not to post on other forums or social media
Q.
I don't have beads/what do you mean animal companion?A. For beads, it doesn't have to be actual beads. It can be any kind of crafty doo-dad; sequins, buttons, mermaid pearls (though I suppose those are a type of bead). Any small decorative item.
Animal companion includes birds, fish and insects.
This has to be a separate thing from your pony. You need to make it yourself, but how you go about that is up to you. You can make it from paper, clay, resin (though I ask if you use resin to not use an animal mold - like don't make a bee from a bee mold but you can make a bee from teardrop and round molds). You can even make it with beads and you've got two things covered
