As should be obvious I'm new here, but I am definitely not new to being a collector. My collection started with G1s (Snuzzle and Minty to be exact) when they were the new big thing. I was a little girl at the time, but I was a collector at heart and fell in love with the idea of My Little Ponies at first sight. I believe I still have every single G1 I managed to get my hands on in my youth aside for a certain few that were given as gifts to my best friends. Since then I've managed to get my hands on quite a few G3s a couple of G3.5s a G2 and a very small amount of the G4s.
My sister caught the pony bug from me and I started her collecting with G3s when they were new buy giving her a Minty as a present. Now her collection rivals mine and we have a shared collection of thrift store finds that is almost as big as our personal collections.
I currently live at home with my parents, brother and sister, and often my beautiful nephew who is also a pony lover, and have been trying my hand at making a few custom ponies here and there. Since they were my first experience with ponies I have quite an obsession with Snuzzle and Minty and wish that there were more versions of Snuzzle as my collection of Mintys is ever growing.
Though my online time might be sporadic I'd love to have the opportunity to meet others of like mind who won't think its odd that someone in their thirties still gets excited over 'kids toys'.
If there's anything you want to know, feel free to ask, I'm usually a very friendly person though a bit shy.

I've got a large tote/bin full to bursting of my personal collection, and another bin houses mine and my sisters shared collection and I believe we have another smaller bin full of bait ponies. XD Sadly due to space they all have to live in bins but I do plan on getting some high shelving put up around the room to display them on when/if I have the time and energy to do so.

I can empathize with that situation. I have very little room in my current residence which, among other things, has put my collection on hold. Pleased to make your acquaintance. :happy:

Thanks for all the welcomes! So far everyone seems so nice! I would love too get some pics of my collection to show off, does anyone have any tips for photos? Its mid-winter here right now so going outdoors for photoshoots is kind of not something I care to do.

Welcome to the Arena!! :happy: That is soo wonderful that you have most of your G1s collected over the decades! So many of us lost/sold/gave away our childhood ponies, it's lovely to occasionally have someone pop up who still has theirs!! ^.^
does anyone have any tips for photos? Its mid-winter here right now so going outdoors for photoshoots is kind of not something I care to do.
I use a flash in dark, low-light areas, just find the right distance so you aren't 'washing out' your subject. I think we have some threads on photography tips here on the Arena if you care to search for them. ;)

Don't feel bad about being in your thirties and collecting ponies, I am in my sixties and collect ponies! :faint:
I was turned on to ponies by my daughter - she's a collector too! Now I make pony plushies and I love it. Most of my collection consists of G2's as Anita collects the other generations.

You could even start a thread in the Corral asking people for their photo taking tips :) I am sure people would be happy to help you out.

Think that's one of my favorite customs I've ever made! I made it for a friend who was obsessed with Clipper back in our childhood days. :)
