I ordered TWO tan dollies from Fairyland for their event in August, plus the Juri event head for my mom.  Yesterday, I got a long-awaited email from DDE that my girls were here!  So I drove down this morning to pick up my dollies!

I haven't been really fond of the past Juri heads, so I was really pleasantly surprised by this year's.  I am actually really tempted to track down another head (maybe the LTF version, just to be different) for myself now that I've given this one to my mom lol.  I can't wait to see her when Mom orders a body lol.

These are actually my first FL dollies, though I have been wanting one for a long time.  I am so glad that I finally got them!  I've always liked Chloe and I've wanted Vanilla since the first time I saw her release pictures.  I couldn't resist buying both.  They look so DARK comparend to my other girls haha!  But on their own, it is an amazing color.

Thank you!  Chloe is one of the prettiest sculpts out there, IMO.  I am so happy to have her!  I can't wait to see her with a face.

I forgot to share my mom's purchase too!  While I was trying wigs on my Chloe at DDE today, my mom found a $5 clearance wig in the bargain bin that would fit her Pong Pong.  When we decided to get the leopard suit for my PKF, she asked to see the Pukipuki sized one too and Kaley brought out that AND a little reindeer outfit!  It was too perfect to leave behind and my mom texted me this pic when she got home:

Woohoo, I finally bit the bullet and bought clothes for some of my poor dollies who need it.  I added up the cost of my 6 BJDs and realized that even though I got great deals on them, I have spent $1,500 on them since I bought my first one 3 years ago.    Seemed like a shame to keep such nice dolls in mediocre clothes (or their birthday suits).  So I spent about $100 on quite a few bits and pieces and should have all 6 dolls in decent outfits by Christmas.  Can't wait to take a family pic!

Hehehehe, I showed your post to my mom and she bust out laughing.  Neither of us is exactly what normal people would consider "cool."  She is quite tickled that at least in the world of toy collectors, she is a cool mom.  Of course, I think she's awesome.    We have lots of fun looking at dolls and she helps me pick out clothes for my resin kids and I've been stalking her chosen faceup artist to get that poor little Pong of hers a face!

Thank you!  I am really pleased with the tan color, I was nervous that it would be too dark or too orange-y, but it's beautiful.

These are my first FL dollies and I'm definitely hooked.  They are just amazing!  I'll get my own Pong eventually, but I'm having fun playing with my mom's in the meantime. 

DDE's original location was actually only a few blocks from my parents' house.  I used to walk there with my allowance and babysitting money as a kid and buy used, vintage, and antique baby doll clothes for my dolls from their bargain bucket.  Looking back, I got some amazing clothes for often less than a dollar, likely because I was a kid and because I was a regular.  They've moved about 20 minutes farther south now and have significantly reduced their showroom because so much of their business is online, but I walked in to get these girls with an envelope that I had filled with cash earned by... wait for it... babysitting after work!    Some things never change.  It's really nice to be able to try on the wigs before I buy them, that is a pretty big deal to me.

Oooh, I'm so bad.  Saw a Juri '13 head for sale on the DoA marketplace for $65 and figured that was as good a price as any.  So I bought her!    Still recovering from the expense of these two, so she'll have to be a floating head for a while, but I fell in love with Mom's.
