She's the only gradient G3 I don't have :( Her symbol is meh, but I love her colors.

Off Topic / Re: Game: You know it's (season) in (location) when...

You know it's winter in Alabama when on Monday it's 80 degrees and by Wednesday the high is in the 40's. Heaven help us if it snows- a slight dusting of snow & the entire town shuts down. On the other hand, a hurricane is no excuse to miss work unless it's at least a category 5.

The Dollhouse / Re: What kind of doll collector are you?
« on: January 23, 2017, 10:14:25 AM »
I was never really a Barbie fan when I was growing up in the 80's, but I did have a Spectra doll- anyone remember Spectra? She was made of shiny metallic pink plastic with a vinyl head and was very highly articulated. She was so much cooler than Barbie. I still have her! Around 2005-2006 I started getting interested in BJD but was content to just look at other people's pictures. In 2007 I bought my first BJD and it's been a wild ride since then! BJD collecting opened me up to collecting some Blythe dolls & Pullips. I also collect vinyl Dollfie Dreams. I prefer dolls that are stylized or have an anime aesthetic, so I have several Volks BJD as well as Dollfie Dreams. I have some Marmite Sue Angel Egg dolls as well. Most of my BJD collection is resin, but I have 2 porcelain BJD- my first was a Forgotten Hearts girl, one of the very early sculpts. My other porcelain BJD is a Marmite Sue doll, made from Moonglass which is a type of luminous, shatter resistant porcelain the artist invented with the help of her father. This doll is my Ultimate Grail Doll! I saved up & spent a lot of $$ for her then waited almost 2 years for her to be completed. She is much more than a doll to me and is worth every cent & every minute waiting :)

Pony Corral / Re: Do you have new appreciation for any of your ponies?

Bowtie! I used to think she was a bit plain, and I didn't like her pose much. But now I'm really loving her colors & symbol and I think her pose is perfect for her :)

Off Topic / Re: US Presidental Election - Did you vote?
« on: November 07, 2016, 09:24:19 AM »
My state (Alabama) does not offer early voting, so I have to vote on Election Day :( Also, there is no law in AL that requires employers to grant time off so workers can go vote. So I'll probably be late to work because the lines are usually quite long (polls are open 7am to 7pm and if you work a 12 hour shift or two jobs...) and will loose $ and irritate my irrational boss. BUT voting is so important I don't care (even though my vote doesn't really matter because I don't live in a swing state).

All in all I'll be so glad for this election to be over!

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Explain "Elder Scrolls" to me
« on: November 07, 2016, 09:13:38 AM »
OMG Yes! I love the Elder Scrolls games! If you're into learning about the lore & backstories of the game there are a ton of websites to check out. My current main character for ES online is a Bosmer (wood elf)- did you know many Bosmer eat their fallen foes? Yes, I'm a little elf cannibal. I wish there was an option to feast upon the flesh of my enemies in the game but just knowing the lore makes me a little more blood thirsty than usual, lol! I wish I could replay Oblivion; the plain of Oblivion is really interesting and there's one unicorn running wild in the game that you can catch & ride around like a boss!

Oh no! I'm so sad to see it go! But I understand why she doesn't want to let someone else take it over. Thank you, Kimberly & DV for being there from the start!

The Dollhouse / Re: Ball Jointed Dolls- Thread #3
« on: August 25, 2016, 09:52:35 AM »
Just FYI April Story BJD is having a big sale, 40% off and if you order a body you get a head for free. In the past, April Story took ages to ship and a lot of customers were unhappy with them. But the product is nice and recently they've been shipping within 60 days. http://4sdolls.com/index.php

Their Normal skin is a good match for Volks Pureskin normal so this is a good chance to give your floating heads their own body :) I only wish they had MSD sized dolls.

Pony Corral / Re: Is it the End of the Line for EQGs?
« on: August 25, 2016, 09:44:45 AM »
I was never a fan of the EQG dolls. Didn't like the faces, the outfits, nothing about them appealed to me. I really don't mind if they're being phased out. What I really want is more brushables of different characters (not just the 6) in varied poses. Gimmicks like glitter or pearly bodies are nice, but still they look so static and blah in the same pose. I've pretty much stopped looking at G4 ponies altogether. Maybe Hasbro is releasing different poses now. If so I'd gladly start collecting G4 again. But right now I'm happy collecting G3 ponies. Colorful, dynamic ponies that have movement in their poses, even if I wish there were more pegs & unis. I wish the MLP line would return to its roots- ponies that are fun to play with. Leave the fashion dolls to MH and Barbie and EAH. They've saturated the market so it was always going to be a struggle introducing the EQG line. I won't be sorry to see them go.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Can anyone ID this small doll?
« on: August 23, 2016, 10:16:59 AM »
I'm not sure, but she reminds me of the early 2000's releases of Polly Pocket. Maybe a Polly Pocket fakie?

Perfume Puff ponies- I thought they were so ugly with their big frizzy hair! Now I have the whole set and they're some of my favorites.

Off Topic / Re: Ever owned anything with bad or strange vibes?
« on: August 11, 2016, 09:48:15 AM »
Not especially. But the place where I board my horse at used to be a private residence. Back in the 80's the owner of the house was murdered in the house. Said house is now the stable's clubhouse. I get a weird feeling in the laundry area, and someone told me the murder took place in that area of the house. It's not really a negative feeling, though. Sometimes I feel like whatever is there, if anything really is there, is glad there's so much laughter and love in the house now. And I feel like they might be watching out for the horses. It's silly, maybe, but I've always thought animals were good guardians against bad mojo. Horses especially so as they are so strong and empathic.

The Dollhouse / Re: Anyone seen any Pullips at Tuesday Morning?
« on: August 11, 2016, 09:31:02 AM »
I found Dal Tezca at Tuesday Morning several months ago. Of course I had to snatch her up; she was only $30!! She's super cute. I haven't been by to look lately but I might today. Fingers crossed!

Pony Corral / my little wiki is back up and updated!

Oh no! I was doing a bit of pony research, and one of my favorite sources, mylittlewiki.org is not found! Anyone know what's happened? I'll really miss it if it's gone for good.  :yikes:

Pony Corral / Re: Displaying MOC's
« on: August 03, 2016, 08:54:35 AM »
I only have a couple of MoC ponies, but I just tacked mine to the wall with a fancy pin. I put the tack through the hole where the card would have hung on the peg, not through the cardboard itself. The cards are nice and flat against the wall and I think they're pretty safe from getting any damage.
