To clean or not to clean?
« on: November 22, 2012, 08:16:35 AM »
Just wondering if most people clean their nirvana ponies. In the past I would wash the inside and outside of ponies with Dawn and condition the hair but its quite a lot of work and time consuming. I just want to make sure the inside is cleaned up to prevent cancer etc. and of course to make them look better. Curious if people clean all their new ponies including decarded/deboxed ones or just leave as is.

i just pop the head off if there is tail rust or mold which is shining through the body. otherwise i keep the head on the body and just wash it with soap and water and condition + brush the hair :)

I clean EVERY PONY that comes into my house.  I have no idea where they've been or what has been touching them, plus I love making them look as good as they can look.  I don't care where they're from, they're getting cleaned before being allowed out of bathrom quarantine!

THIS!

i almost always pop the head off too and take a peek inside, sometimes ponies look ok on the outside and are EVIL inside

me to everyone gets cleaned (unless packaging is involved) but I do try not to take heads if possible. I shine a bright light behind it if I see shadows or something iffy off it comes. (not exactly 100% proof though) also does not work if pony has dark colored body
