USA-->CANADA POST- Finally arrived :)

How long does it normally take for items to get to Canada from the USA?
item was mailed the 27th of December from Northern NY and its going to Ontario.

The arrived in Canada on the 28th and the last thing listed was the item was processed in DIEPPE on the 3rd of January with an expected delivery date of 3-7 days.

Its been 10 days since them with no further info and no delivery. There wasnt any tracking number, just the USPS customs number.

Is this normal??

I find for the most part that items coming from the US to Canada take anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, give or take. Lately the post seems to be quite slow all around.

Yep, 2 - 3 weeks seems to be pretty normal for packages to Canada recently and you're still within that.  The customs number does provide delivery confirmation/tracking to Canada now (and and a few other countries supposedly - I've had mixed results), but I've noticed that it often doesn't update until after delivery.

They say 7 days but I send stuff to a friend in Toronto all the time and it frequently takes about 3 weeks.

3 weeks is normal so I wouldn't worry about it until the 20th or 21st.

There is also no mail delivery on Saturday or Sunday in Canada.  Delivery times are in business days usually.  So that's 3-7 business days.  It's only been 5 business days since Jan 3rd.

OK  Hopefully it will arrive soon. It was SUPPOSED to be a christmas box.

I honestly wouldn't worry too much just yet, I've had parcels like that just sitting, not moving and then all of a sudden they're at my local processing facility ;^^ It usually takes about 2 weeks for me to get a parcel from the US, but once in a while it takes an extra week or so. The mail is probably still a bit slow from the holidays, so try to stay positive Keep us posted, I hope it arrives soon!

Well, the package has finally moved but now it says processing error, item rerouted..

Really? A POSSIBLE DELAY?? We need a middle finger icon!

If it's in Charlottetown, I'm thinking the processing error is being put on the wrong truck. If it's going to Ontario, it should be moving West, not East. Mississauga is in Ontario....then it went ~4 provinces over. o.O

Yeah, the person who I sent it to said Mississigua is about an hr from them and that it was sent to prince edward island after it left Mississiguia.
The latest info has it being reprocessed through Mississigua BUT they changed the delivery date to the 27th?
Are they planning on sending it to Whitehorse next??

  it definitely looks like the PO stuffed up and sent your parcel on the wrong truck in the wrong direction  and thats what caused an even bigger delay than what is expected *siiiiigh*  I've seen it happen before  (and had it happen to me too) , but the parcel should arrive eventually - hopefully within the new few days. The tracking might not be showing at the moment if they are currently updating.

Ahhhh Canada Post's service went down the toilet very recently so....    Your buyer will know that; there have been major budget cutbacks and they plan to eliminate door-to-door service.  It's been national controversy for weeks.   

At least they are still scanning a customs number that isn't even technically tracking!!!    They aren't required to  but they know it alleviates stress for both parties so someone has been thoughtful and scanned the package wherever it's been going!

And I though the USPS sucked...
Hopefully its still going where its supposed to be going. It was a swap package and I can always make another if  it was abducted by aliens but some of those items were a pain in the butt to find

Honestly, like lovesbabysquirmy said, Canada Post made some huge changes and in the midst of all the stupidity their service or lack of it has gotten 10x worse. It's disgusting really, especially since the prices have all gone up
