USPS freaked me out ,mailed to Florida, Showed in ALAska then FLORIDA ???!!!

glad I can laugh now, but I was monitoring this package to FLorida , I even asked the recipient if the had some sort of mailing forwarding on their mail, Package showed up in Anchorage Alaska  ,then FLorida which is the destination
this package had a nice trip LOL scared me for a while though.

USPS pulled a similar stunt on me too I was sending a pony (a Mimic to be exact), from WI to somewhere on the East Coast (I think it might have been South Carolina, but I'm not 100% sure). However, my buyer messaged me one day to tell me that Mimic was now in Hawaii!! Mimic did eventually make it to her destination a few days later, but still, there was really no need for her to take such a detour

I would ask the woman who had the pony go to Alaska to make sure that the pony didn't have any frost bite anywhere and for the pony that went to Hawaii I would expect she had gotten the customary greeting with a lei around her neck at the very least

I swear, those scanners are weird. I used to work for a courier company, and the scans would bounce from here to Timbucktu!

I've had that happen a few times and the package did end up way out yonder beyond it's destination. I could see from the scans that the package then made it's way back to where it was really supposed to go. Glad yours made it.

 the pony that went on vacation to Hawaii instead of going right to the east coast still makes me giggle    some of those scanning destinations are really weird!!

I really wonder about them too, like did some packages accidentally not get dropped where they were supposed to and then they take a nice detour around the country before they get back to the right sorting point? I'm waiting on a package from Ohio right now which showed an estimated delivery of the 7th but it was in Minneapolis (6 hours past where I live) when I checked since I didn't receive it in the mail. Maybe tomorrow....

Typical routing mistake and it happens a lot and that's why so many packages are lost.  So glad that wasn't the case in your situation.

Wow it took a trip!

I had a similiar issue with an item recently that I sent.  It was bouncing around and then kept going to the wrong depot. It finally was delivered two weeks later.

Glad yours showed up though despite it's detour.
