Well, this is a rather sad brag really. The last UK branches of Toys 'R' Us (including one of my childhood branches, Brent Cross) close down for the final time tomorrow (24th). I went to say my final goodbyes today.
The toys are all long gone, but I still managed to come away with a "little" something for the collection.

Tragically, the rest of the display is still there. I have nowhere to put the hot air balloon or bigger signs so didn't ask how much they wanted for them, but if anybody is in London and wants to go to Brent Cross (bear in mind it will probably close early being the last day), I expect they will sell it cheaply because they need it all gone now. I just can't bear to think of all this stuff being thrown in a skip or left there to be vandalised! :(
Anyway, on a happier note, I am pleased to have been able to save the sign at least. I always wanted one of the big over shelf signs back in the G3 era...now I can say that I have a part of the last ever UK Toys 'R' Us display. :)

I did not even think to ask for the display pieces. I think it wouldn't hurt for all of us to go to our local TrUs and see if we can get some too!

I think most people didn't think to ask. Pretty much everything is still at Brent Cross TRU even though it closes today. What a sad waste. I'm glad I managed to save the couple of signs I did get, but wish someone would go and get the hot air balloon etc.! And all the Geoffrey Giraffe/TRU stuff like the lovely statue of Geoffrey sitting on a bench which they have there for photo opportunities. All this stuff is less than six months old because they had a massive makeover at the end of October last year...it's a tragedy to think of it all going to the landfill. :(

You go to the same TRU as me :) I admit, after going in February I couldn't bear to go back again. I bought a few pony things then but the shelves were all half empty even then.
It makes me so sad :( The hot air balloon is so gorgeous and it's all from the new refit so it should be there for kids to enjoy for years (but it won't be). I'm glad you got to keep something from the displays and stuff - at least a little of the store will be retained :)
It's so sad about the hot air balloon. I have photos of it as well, and I'm glad you do too. At least it will be remembered. Hopefully hasbro will get it and it'll end up at some other store, rather than just junked - but you never know :(
I have no space for any of that kind of stuff either :( and no way to get it anywhere, as I always visted by bus.
There's also the T-Rex. I wanted to take my sister to show her because she's big on dinosaurs, but :/ Not now.

This is honestly a really cool brag, even if sad. I hope to snag some similar display stuff from mine (and hopefully a Geoffrey Giraffe costume). That hot air balloon display is so cool, my store doesn't have that.

Those are so cool! But I agree it’s very sad that it’s going. Mine shut for good today, but by the looks of it they’d already got rid of the signs in ours. That balloon is awesome!

Congrats on getting those amazing displays!! I love all the pics, especially the one with the hot air balloon! I wish we had that here! That is so awesome. I saw a huge Twilight Sparkle cardboard stand display months ago and took a pic, but it was gone last time I went there. It's sad to see TRU close.

OMG! That is amazing!
Our stores might have a month or so to go. Next time I'm going to work up the courage to ask.
I've never seen the ballon display, and yeah... where WOULD you put a thing like that?

What a cool piece of pony merch you have there. I think it is a great way to remember such an awesome toy store.
