Post by: Nella on October 11, 2016, 12:53:19 PM
How much is this little beauty worth? And who is she?
Her feet say '84.

She's from Argentina :) I'm not too sure on a price for her

There are a lot of these floating about, some have symbols and different coloured tails. You can see some of them in the nirvana gallery (link below)

IMHO I'd say she was unfinished rather than a prototype :) Prototypes and pilot skins have quite different features :bigups:

We still don't know why there are so many of these white half finished trotting pose ponies!

I agree, she's more of an unfinished pony than a prototype. As pkw says, there are quitr a few of them around with a few differences. They don't tend to run that  high because of that, but I haven't been following the Argie prices either.

How funny that she has a tail but no mane! I wonder what happened that they stopped her right there, lol

Great find! I've no idea of a value, though, sorry.

Those Argies are $12 to $20 usually, as far as I have seen and remember.

Thanks. I've been trying to look at sold auctions on Ebay but can't seem to find any? How do you research them?

I get my prices using a combination of searching sold auctions on eBay, previous price checks here and ponies sold here.

As I couldn't find any on eBay which had sold recently, I search price checks and sales here in the nirvana forum :)

I always have problems with the search function on this forum.... or is there an easy way to search? And what keywords did you use?

I searched for "Argie Unfinished" and I searched only the nirvana and nirvana sales forums :) By selecting only those two forums it narrows down the search a lot making it quicker and easier to find the information I am looking for.

What happens when you try to use the search function? :) Perhaps it is something I can help with or something that needs reporting if there is a glitch ;)

I bought these with and without symbol about 10 years ago from an argentinian seller. The background story that was told to me is that when the factory shut down many employees took the unfinished ponies with them. And that could be a reason why there are a lot of blank ones.
