May 15, 2012The garage sale went great! We made about 180 dollars. Not bad at all, eh? Anyway, today we went to the zoo…but it got a little late and we didn’t see as much of it as we wanted. We’re going back Saturday, so look out for more pics then!
Here we are in the car, on the way to the zoo. Cameo snuggled into the middle compartment, and Silverspell rode in the hollow underneath the door handle.

Then they posed by a life-sized statue of a komodo dragon. The zoo had a real one for a while, on loan from another zoo…it was awesome!

Next we have desert sand that I always want to play in and climb…and then a meeting with meerkat who had leapt to the glass closing off the exhibit. He was clawing underneath a tiny hole at the bottom of the glass…so freaking cute.

It used to be up on a rock base, but now there’s rubber mat type material below it. Didn’t want anyone getting hurt I guess.
It looked cooler before.

First we have a recreation of an old campsite…the kind of thing explorers in past centuries had to reside in. Then a random, fake vine…and some posing in front of the vampire bats…you can’t see the bats very well, unfortunately. And yes—those are shallow dishes of blood. C:<

These next pictures are from the Aquarium—rennovated in fact! It looks very cool inside. Here’s a giant squid sculpture hanging from the ceiling as you walk in.

Oh well. Anyway, one penguin saw Cameo and Silverspell and was trying to get at them.
It was cute. He kept pecking experimentally at the glass.
