I was not impressed, I couldn't get through the whole special honestly. A lot of weird writing, stiff dialogue and unnatural, lifeless exposition dumping about the previous movie and the animation, while not bad, just felt a bit too off and I think they would have been better off doing a 2-d special (not in the style of the webisodes though).

 I didn't like Izzy's new voice at all, and she was one of my favorites in the movie.

It's kind of a shame because the movie genuinely makes me cry every time I watch it, but I really didn't love this.

I ADORED the little chibi anime drawings during the scene where they explain what an alicorn is, kind of makes me wish we got a TV series in a more detailed version of that with lots of pastels and sparkles!

In all fairness I think there's a split-second clip of the g3 logo in the same clip!

Not sure if anyone else has posted about this, but Five Below has a miniaturized (6") version of the sitting Sunny Styling Pony!

I drove over there today just to get her lol, I love miniatures and I love the sitting sculpt (and I am impatiently still waiting for Amazon to restock the larger one)- great little pony for 5$ with nice nylon hair! Actually it's a bit funny that this 5$ pony has a fully nylon tail and mane, but the regular G5 Fashion ponies have poly tails lol

I managed to get a set of them with the help of someone in the forum (thanks Sunpony!! <3<3) and they are excellent, gorgeously executed. My only qualm is that Fizzy's mane is rooted on the opposite site of the original, but that might be a good thing because OG Fizzy's mane is rooted to lay on her NDS and I've noticed that most collectors tend to switch it to the front anyway lol.

Gingerbread is gorgeous, crossing my fingers and hoping she won't yellow like BF Gusty- it would be comically horrendous for GB to yellow when the original is notorious for turning brown lol.

The eyes are so sparkly!

The Flower Fantasy ponies are some of my favorites and I have coveted Love Petal for years...the chance to get a repro with shiny, brand new nylon hair is an absolute dream for me! Sugaryberry is my favorite pose too, I am absolutely shaking lol!

 I've always been in favor of them breaking continuity in order to make ponies that are a bit more eye-catching (both because some of them are quite rare and because they will get more sales from casual buyers), so I am very excited for this!

Please, Rainbow Curl ponies next!!!

Also, re: the seasons, they didn't mention this but the Spring toy season is considered the least important compared to Fall, and it's when most brands tend to release slightly less "deluxe" toys (and sometimes nothing at all) because sales tend to rise during the Fall season and things are more likely to sell out. In the doll community, if a doll line debuts in the Spring it's likely because the brand expects it to fail and they've devoted fewer resources to the release.

I won't be surprised if they decide not to release anything for Spring and instead focus on distributing the TE set, especially due to COVID factory issues and backlog (and because the TE set was delayed and released a bit later than a normal Fall line).

ETA: the team at Basic Fun are so nice! The last time I spoke with them started with me filing a claim for a damaged CJ I got online, and they sent me an SDCC Majesty as a replacement! One of the biggest surprises of my life honestly lol

They look so amazing, definitely the most accurate set I think! I was bothered by the other repros having backward manes compared to the originals but it seems like they made an effort to correct this with the TE set.

I watched it finally! I liked it a lot more than I expected, I ended up SOBBING a few times lol. I love Izzy!!!
