Looking for G3 news from back in the day

Before G3 actually started, they had drawings on their website of the first eight ponies (Minty, Pinkie Pie, Kimono, Sparkleworks, Wysteria, Rainbow Dash, Sweetberry, Sunny Daze) and I distinctly remember Minty was green with GREEN hair.

Did anyone save that?  It was a drawing, not a photo.  I think it showed all eight ponies at once, arranged in a sort of circle around the G3 logo.

Also, does anyone know where a good archive is of G3 news?  Not anything like "My Little Wiki", but something that shows posts FROM BACK THEN, like "Oh my God, you guys, I just found out the Celebration Castle plays the original MLP theme song!  I'm flipping out here!!!"

Unfortunately I don't think the MLP Arena was around when G3 started.  The Trading Post was, but it's archives don't seem to go back that far.

I'd especially love to find anything relating to the debate of "what do we call these new ponies", because I know the G1 / G2 / G3 labels didn't exist until the start of G3.

The big debate was the G3, G3.5, G4 debate - before there actually were G4's.

Is silverfalls site still up? There was tons of G3 info there from the early yrs of G3.

LOL!  Of course it was!  I'm sure there's a way to search the arena archives.

Technically the G3s came out in the summer before the arena existed.

It was our 10th anniversary last year so yes the Arena has been about long enough for the vast majority of G3. It was started a little later than the very beginning of the line of course so you will miss a lot of the first 6-9 months of news but you can search the old Arena for many of the type of threads you mentioned at www.mlparena.com/archive.

For earlier news and dates etc Ponytopia is thankfully still around and its news section still very helpful - http://www.ponytopia.com/g3_info/g3_archives.htm.

The only picture I have is the same as sunnydaze has already posted unfortunately; I only ever remember a poor quality picture floating around.

I don't think this is quite what you were looking for, but I do remember that in 2002 or 2003 (can't remember) on Moonshadow's message board, where I was a member, someone posted with the news that their dad had been contacted by Hasbro to do MLP stickers. (Their dad worked at a sticker company or something, obviously.) That was the first inkling we had (at least on that message board) that Hasbro was going to bring MLP back. And somewhere I have a bad photograph I took of the first G3s on the shelves.
