I just tried Vegemite for the first time

I love that you wrote  this in the trivial complaints thread (I've only ever tried Marmite... nope didn't like it  )

My complaint is that Hiro the cat has gained weight again... it's probably because we haven't been able to walk that much during the winter. And he likes his food well enough, lol! Now that we have more daylight I should try to be more diligent about walking him.

Would you say it's inconsiderate to leave without telling anyone and bring back fast food just for yourself when you live in a house with three other people? (and you know they haven't eaten and the house is running out of stuff to eat???)

Because I think it's a pretty crappy thing to do.

I just opened a Coke that was still quite a ways from the Best Buy date and it had no flavor to it. I also bumped in to a large display today.

This happened yesterday but I'm still salty about it. I had gone to the PO to mail some packages and was trying to write on the tracking number slips which was what (we're old school and don't have the nice printed out receipts that say that) but the pen didn't work. I politely asked for another. The post master kind of half rolled her eyes and VERY reluctantly gave me another pen. When I handed it back she took it between the tips of her fingers like it was a dead thing and then made a huge show of wiping off the pen and Purell-ing her hands. I understand taking precautions but to make such a huge deal about it was very annoying. She's normally a little rude to me anyway but now I'm only going to the PO on Saturdays as she doesn't work that day.

I was annoyed that I was informed via e-mail that I would be covering someone else's shift again instead of being asked if I would cover it.  Fortunately, one of my co-workers who has nothing to do offered to do it for me so I could get actual work done.

I always forgot how awful this brand of 'icecream' is until i have first bite. They keep changing the packaging! It's like a booby trap in the freezer section....blech.

I wish Funimation wouldn't have non skippable previews on their DVDs. I don't mind watching a preview for another show every once in a while but last night I had to take my DVD out and put back in because it was skipping and had to watch the same preview for My Roommate is a Cat twice in a row. I muted my TV the 2nd time.

As we are practically on lock-down here in the UK, (my kid's school closed yesterday and her activities cancelled) I spent the day at home and decided to do a mega hit of laundry whilst spring cleaning the house.

I awoke with a sore throat, bum gravy and a cough but no fever. No lethargy so I thought I'd keep myself moving and useful. The weather was sunny and warm enough to have the doors and windows open so, great, I could do some de-moulding spray too. Husband cut the lawn, kid had a remote zoom dance lesson then played outside, I was feeling much better.

Just finishing my 4th load and then there was a strange noise from the washing machine (front loader) it began to vibrate like crazy, I actually had to hold the machine down! Then the spin cycle went MADLY fast and making a high-pitched whine. My kid shouted out "what's happening?" and I didn't know! I turned it off... waited... took out the clothes.

Checking the Gospel of Google, it appears I have a broken machine! Oh well, it was 14 years old and served us well. Looks like I am on hand-washing duties until we come out of lock-down and after self-isolating. I am thankful for having a well-stocked larder and finding that extra pack of toilet roll under the stairs! Ah 14 days...

I hate when I'm reading a nice fanfiction and then the author switches to first person. I *hate* first person.
I've been feeling quite lonely lately. I found out people from my old department hung out...they never did that while I was working there. It was, like, all the people in my age range too. Ugh.

Sometimes I really can't stand being short and fat. Well, I never enjoy it (especially the fat part), but sometimes the confrontation is too much. I bought this lovely blouse, but those things NEVER sit right on me! Anything with an accentuated waistline looks stupid on me. If I were thin, I'd just buy a small size and everything would be cool. But nooo, I need the biggest size, which is also about a mile longer than the smallest size, so the waistline falls pretty much on my hips...

If it makes you feel any better, a lot of the models and famous people have those clothes tailored to fit them exactly--basically, if they were buying it off the rack, it wouldn't fit them properly either. My understanding is they buy a shirt 1-2 sizes too big, then take it to a tailor/seamstress and have it altered to fit perfectly. So, even if you were a small size (and I'm in the same boat you are, as far as that goes), chances are the off-the-rack stuff still won't fit properly.

I have a sore throat and dry cough, and can't tell if it's allergies or not. I'm assuming it is, since I'm not running a temperature or nauseated, but still.
