Are you supposed to quote John Green books here, or something?

I'm honestly not sure! I came up with a little love story that was pretty good to my mind but apparently not good enough to land the job! XD

Oh man, these are crazy questions. I'm glad I haven't had some of the ones listed in the thread though, I have no idea what animal I would send in my place to a job interview, lol. Maybe I would...teach a parrot to represent me or something, haha.
The craziest one I've been asked is: what superpower I would choose to have. I don't remember what I said, probably flight or something.

No weird questions here but I want to know how you answered yours!

I started by saying that the universe was massive and we only have the means to explore a very small part of it.  I said I remembered an article a few years ago that reported the alleged discovery of fossilised bacteria on a meteorite from Mars.  If that was true (and I haven't researched the matter in any depth so I'm not saying it is or isn't), it's not a huge leap to think there might be cells or other life forms on distant planets.  It probably wouldn't look anything like the life we're used to here on Earth, and whether or not it's intelligent is an entirely different discussion.  I finished by saying it was unlikely we'd ever know for sure, and while it's possible we might one day prove its existence, we couldn't prove that it didn't exist.  Very deep!

By the way, I wasn't expecting so many replies, and some of the questions are amazing... I don't know how I'd answer a lot of them!  Keep them coming!  :)

How about this one: "How come you never called me after we went out a couple years ago?" I had no idea that my interviewer was going to be a guy that I met online and went out with once.

I didn't get this one but an acquaintance did. "If you were a piece of loaf, what kind would you be?"

Loaf?  As in bread?  Or meatloaf?  Or loafer shoes?

If you were stuck on the moon with one other person, who would you not want it to be?

Someone who has a gravity machine.  I want to moonwalk THE WHOLE TIME!

I can't confirm it, but I've heard that Walmart asks something along the lines of, "Did you witness your father's death? If so, do you feel responsible for it?"

How many Luke Skywalkers are interviewing at Wal-Mart?!  Guess they need to weed out the Jedi mind trick users.  "These are not the sale prices you are looking for."

XD

Not exactly a question but my recent job interview for an internship position in a coveted company turned into a 30 minute gossip session with the boss about another company in the same industry.

I got the job and now i'm sitting here in the office typing this lol

Wow, those are some absurd questions.

I've been asked my favorite movies, books, etc. I think the strangest question was when my manager picked up a pen and asked me to sell it to him during the interview.

What position were you interviewing for? I received plenty of role-playing questions like that and I hate it!!

I have been job-hunting since my previous contract ended a month ago.  I was recently asked in an interview if I thought there was intelligent life on other planets.  I must have given a good answer, as I was offered the job.  What's the worst or weirdest interview question you've had?

Oh boy that sure if a weird question. I have not had any of them yet. But I have been at my job for 8 years now.  I have to laugh at some of the other things that have been posted to!

Some of those questions are very interesting, psychology-wise. The one about the father dying is rather disturbing, though, and I sincerely hope it's just a rumour. What if they asked it to someone who'd just lost their father, and the question would trigger a huge emotional trauma?

I've never been asked very extraorinary questions. During the interview for the job I've got at the moment, the head of department and I found that we've both got a degree in English Lit, so he asked me what my favourite Shakespeare play was. I told him (truthfully) that it's "The Tempest", and I got the job, so I guess that was a good answer.
