'Tis the season to be reading

According to my Goodreads account, I have read 16 books so far this year. I'm going to see if I can get another 2-3 read before New Year's. :) Most were e-books, but a few were real books.

A couple were even audio books, but I am not sure how I feel about audio books yet. I think I absorb the words better when I read them with my own eyes. Maybe it would work if I listened to the audio book while reading it at the same time for the maximum effect.

I even ordered myself a (basic) Kindle on Black Friday as I saw it went down to $60. I look forward to getting it in the mail. :mail:

That said, my favorite kind of books are the real ones.

What is your reading status? :read:

I think I've read somewhere between 15 and 20 books this year. I've been on a reading hiatus the last couple of months, but I plan on picking up on my reading again really soon.

20+ books easily. I read every day and feel lost if I don't have a book currently on the go. Only 'real' books for me, e-books just don't appeal to me.

In the past I would have been reading at least 20 a year. Since I got my horse I haven't read anywhere near as many. Love my kindle though

Funny thing is, I have bought over 100 paperback fantasy novels this year. I have only read one.

Depends. If you count graphic novels as books then I've read well over 20. If not, then I've only read about 5 or 6 haha.

I am slowly whittling through the BBC book  list (although there's a few I won't read). I usually read something heavier, like right now I am slogging through Middlemarch, then let myself read something light like Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children. This past year I've kept a reading log on  my Facebook notes and I'll print it out in January to put in my journal/scrapbook and start a new one. I'm always surprised at how many books I read since I grew up thinking I hated reading XD I've read 14 this year and intend to finish at least 3 more by Jan 1. I do tend to read a LOT more in winter due to the weather.

I am dying to read 'As You Wish' by Cary Elweis. Has anyone here read it?

I've always been a major reader, although I can't keep track of what I actually read overall. I can remember what made an impression on me, though; in the past year that's included...
- Colourless Tsukuru Takazi and his Years of Pilgrimage & After the Quake by Haruki Murakami
- The Seacunny by Gerard Woodward
- Pandorama by Ian Duhig
- Of Mutability by Jo Shapcott
- Tortilla Flat & Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
- Junky by William S Burroughs
and then there are old favourites I wanted to read again. I'm also currently reading A Tale For the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki; it's very good so far, she has a great writing style and I'm intrigued to see where the plot ends up going! :)

According to Goodreads I've read 41 books this year (out of a goal of 50). There's actually an unofficial Arena Goodreads group: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/147388-mlp-arena-book-lovers-club

If anyone wants to add me on Goodreads, I'm at this page: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/2384499-kirsten-rodning (Just add a note that says you're from the Arena so I know who you are!)

I'd say at least 20, maybe a few more.  I have a new friend at work that has been feeding me new stuff to read all year!

No e-reader here, although I wouldn't be opposed to having one.
