Long hair Shining Armor FS: future release or prototype?

Today i have received this cutie and i have noticed a lot of differenciesnfrom the actual release of the FS Shining Armor.

As you can see, obviously he has long hair:)

But he has also his cutie mark on the other side, bigger eyes, no glitters on the horn and the hair are in a different shade.

I hope he's a future release. I love him so much more than the original. Well, I actually like the smaller, more slanted eyes on the original better since they cover the indents better, but the whiter body and longer hair more than make up for it.

Oh! I wouldnt be surprised if we get him again, I would suspect FS ponies will be a continual release of the main characters without anyone new, and the hair is certainly much more to my liking...I maintain that boy ponies should all have hair a-la-Fabio!

he kind of freaks me out like that.  I mean I don't love the Mohawk, but something about him with long hair doesn't sit right with me.

Lucky!  If he is from Taobao my bet is Engineering Pilot or marketing sample- especially if there were a few of them.   If there was only one of him ever- than probably a factory error.

The long hair makes it kinda worse for some reason. Can't say i like it.

My first thought was he looks like he's from the Equestria equivalent an 80s metal band.
