I need some advice on cleaning a decorating pony.
« on: September 12, 2012, 11:06:47 AM »
I bought this star Catcher decorating pony today: http://strawberryreef.com/Index/Name/starcatcherDecorating.html
I would like to make her all pretty and new looking again.
I was wondering if it is okay to treat her like a regular pony to clean. Or do I need to take special care in her cleaning?

Sometimes the color-changing gets stuck on one color or another, but I don't think anything drastic will affect her.  Now if you're talking acetone and sandpaper, perhaps... but warm water and hand soap shouldn't hurt her.  :)

For cleaning I've always used baby wipes. for more severe marks I'm not sure. what you could do. :<

edit: I was thinking acitone aswell.

I was considering magic eraser?
She seems to have a few colored marks like paint. I'm going to go give her a bath though.
Does her head come off?

As LBSs she can be prone to getting stuck - make sure if you are giving her a bath the water is tepid do that you dont send her colour too wildly back and forward.

She also has a funny coating to her body which can be surprisingly easy damaged so you may want to be careful of the magic eraser - it will remove her coating in much the same way it can erase symbols. It will of course also be damaged by acetone.

Initially I would try something like baby wipes to get the worst off of her and then go from there. If you decide to risk the eraser just be aware that you could remove the coating and use it on as small an area as possible.

Good luck!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
