I've been offered a lot of help on this forum, so just trying to pay back in anyway I can... :p

I've been keeping, breeding and rescuing reptiles for a long time, and have even been offered jobs teaching about reptiles

If anyone has a poorly reptile they want some advice about, or if they're considering getting one and want some advice, please get in touch

I love Reptiles, but just got rats and I don't think I can afford any more pets. I always wanted a Bearded Dragon. My friend has one and she is called Barney lol:) I think they're quite an expensive pet to get though, what with their tank and their diet and the Dragon itself...

To be honest, I get bearded dragons given to me on an almost weekly basis, don't fork out pet shop prices, check some internet sites, prelvoed and gumtree and you'll find a dragon with setup cheap enough, probably for around £50 - £80, less if you haggle! But make sure the animals you go see are healthy, you don't want to be paying to take on other people's problems!

To feed a bearded dragon,  you're looking at a variety of greens and a couple of boxes of live food a week so about £5 weekly

The main cost is with heating, 12 hours of it a day to be precise, if you're in a cold area you may need to heat overnight too. and with a dragon you need uv lighting which will need replacing every six months or so

The big problem with reptiles is vets, its hard to find vets that deal with reptiles and when you do its normally a lot, a consultation can be £40 before you add any treatment, so its always best to have something set aside just in case.

But saying that beardies (reptiles in general, with a fex exceptions) are pretty tough, so long as you give them a good diet and supplement it well, to prevent any diet related illness such as calcium deficiency (leads to metabolic bone disease) they tend to be very hardy pets, if all their dietary and housing needs are met, they very rarely fall ill

It's lovely of you to offer help for reptiles! I have a leopard gecko named lizard. Totally original name, I know. I don't take her out as much as I did a few years ago because she lives downstairs.

ooo, I love reptiles however, as far as i figured, they are pretty much banned in Iceland (which is just as well I guess, this isn't really a good place for them ).We were about to adopt a couple of turtles though, but they were given to someone else in the end   (and yeah, they were here illegally as much as I could gather)

Woo for Herps!  I've got an 18 yr old Leo, and a rescue Leo mega morph.  Once we get a larger place, I'm hoping to add a ball python to the family, if I can convince the hubby that is!

Ball pythons are my favourite snake, I had one called "shexy"
