Remco Baby Laugh-A-Lot?

So today I'm at the antique store when suddenly, wild Baby-Laugh-A-Lot appears!

This doll is just so freakish and oddly cute that I've been watching out for her for quite a while now. I really don't know anything about them except that they came from the '70s, they creepily giggle, and they scare the living crap out of nearly everyone they come in contact with.

I love everything about them.

The one in the store was $25, looked a bit scuffed up from play, and did not appear to still giggle. I'm just wondering if you guys would say that $25 is a good price, considering that I have no idea how much they're really worth. Should I grab it, try to barter, or leave it alone? For $25 I'd rather have a pony or two, but I am considering it if the more experienced people here think it's a good buy.

Googled that one and sheesh I wish I hadn't, that is one seriously creepy looking doll! Good luck getting a price though

I LOVE that doll!  I personally would not have bought her if she didn't work anymore.  But I definitely want one.

I believe Mike Mozart did a review. You'll want to change the batteries when they get low or she sounds just plain scary (I don't have one but I watched Mike Mozart's review of it under those conditions).

She's creepy as hell even when she sounds normal.  Look for a baby laughs-a-lot commercial on youtube.  I love this doll.  I want her, Brickette (was that her name?) and Baby Secrets for my creepy toys collection.

Honestly thats kind of not fair to me if she doesn't work. If she is dirty and has other issues I would say ask for a lowering of the price.  I think they have a commercial about this doll and yes..she is really creepy.  Sometimes they can be repaired and its just a matter of cleaning the battery compartment. Does she have her rocking chair? Just wondering as she came with one.  The combination of this dolls creepy laugh and her Norman Bates like mother rocker motion...well its just too much.

I remember seeing the commercial for that awhile ag, and its as the others have said.

Im not sure on price, but $25 seems a bit high to me.  Maybe make sure she actually works first by asking if they could test her out with new batteries.

I didn't press the button because I didn't actually think to. I was looking for a pull string, so that was my first mistake. (I forgot the sacred words: "Just press the button, AND SHE STAAHARTS TO GIG-OL!!!") I'm actually quite terrified of whatever sound may come out, but am willing to try next time I go down there. What kind of batteries does she need? I may bring some and ask if it's okay to test her out in the store first. No, she didn't have her rocking chair, but some kind of a replacement type of doll stand instead. It looked nice, but that was part of why I thought that $25 may have been a bit much. She isn't really in bad shape, but she just looks like a warm rag bath wouldn't hurt. Her pigtails are also down, but I know that can be fixed, and her hair is a bit bristley. I don't know what texture it was supposed to be though, so I just chalked it up as normal.
