Well, im glad you ere able to find out :)

Me too  I'm new enough to the FSF world to have never seen some of the more elusive fillies IRL; besides, they are not exactly easy to come by where I live.

:enthralled: Just like mine, with the exception that life has treated her more kindly! Thanks a lot for the photos, Buddafly! I guess we can invert the question: does there exist an alternate Lalana with plain yellow hair or don't people simply have eyes to see the pink stripes?

I've never heard of an alt sweet scent FSF.

Exactly what puzzles me! It indeed is Lalana, and I have reason to believe it is her original hair. Click on the pics below for larger versions.

This is Lalana when I got her. She came in an inexpensive lot from France with 3 other more or less dirty, tangled and/or baity fillies. I first thought her hair was simply a discolored yellow. However, when cleaning her, I noticed she really has regular albeit partially faded pink stripes that continue all the way inside her and are still pink at the roots.

I have washed, conditioned and braided her hair (the straightening will have to wait till I have access to some defrizzing device), so sorry about the wavy pics, there are almost too many reflections to see clearly.

Her hair looks and feels like genuine FSF hair. The horse shows no signs of having been opened: there is an intact paint layer over the seams. The strip the mane is attached to is somewhat loose in the slit; at least nothing has been glued there posthumously. The tail stump is attached to the original plug.

Here's a sample of some yellow and pink-faded-to-white hair on white paper. Sorry about the bad lighting, I don't have much daylight at this time of the year.

So... I don't know what to think.

Off Topic / Resolved: FSF Lalana's hair color (photos added)

So, I recently got my hands on a Fashion Star Filly Lalana in poor condition -  judging by the amount of dirt she was covered in, she had probably spent the last 20 years or so in a potato cellar. Her tail has been cut, she suffers from paint loss and is in need of some serious defrizzing. What struck me about this filly is that she has yellow and pink striped hair, though partially faded when it comes to the pink stripes. What remains of the tail is striped as well. I never saw a Lalana IRL before and I expected her to have uniformly yellow hair, because this is what most photos and info sites claim. I can't post photos of mine right now (I'm at the uni and the filly is at home) but I'll add some later if needed.

So, dear Lalana owners, the question is: do there exist several versions of Lalana, or do they all have striped hair, which would mean that the FSF sites around are just plain wrong?

@mul-ta: The doll is only worth $20 (a deboxed MH Skelita) so I'm going to hope that declaring it as a gift will help it get through customs more easily. Because it IS a gift. Maybe sticking a Christmas card in there will help if they decide to open it, haha.

Sounds like there shouldn't be any problem. If it is a personal gift that looks like a personal gift, they shouldn't have anything to nitpick about.

Considering they are extremely HTF and hardly ever come up for sale, I'm of the mind to say $60 - $90 each piece.  For the glasses maybe even $100 and up.  But then again, not a lot of people collect the FSFs, so sometimes it's hard to price these things.

And for the very reason that they hardly ever come up for sale, it is even harder to price them. Sunglasses @ $100 are way above my price range but it is not to say that there are no people who'd pay their hundred bucks, because Janis. So, good luck with your sale!

I think I can feel safe just calling a few bucks a piece for the pieces I have?

Yep, that's what I'd say. If you had a complete or near complete set, it would be a different thing.

I'd love to see some of your art.  :)
This is currently possible at my dA account (multa, or just click on my home page link). No ponies there though... I may be posting some on the Arena in the future!

As regards FSF clothing, I'd say the wedding gown is the easiest of these to find, even complete. In general, teen fashions seem harder to come by than Fun Fashions but I guess you won't be getting rich with the dresses only, I've seen the Prom Star one sold for something like $3. No experience with the Cheerleader or RockStar fashions though.

I'm a Finn with no first-hand experience meddling with the customs, so please correct me if I'm drastically wrong. However, here's what official information I could extract: since 1.1.2013, if they get stuck in the customs, imported parcels whose total value (item + S&H) is at least 22 euros (about 29$ atm) are subject to 24% VAT (10% for books). For gifts, the limit appears to be at 45 euros (60$). Also, dolls may or may not be subject to a customs fee of 4,7% of total value. I have no experience with receiving dolls, so...

Declaring the item as a gift may or may not help depending on whether the random customs official out there regards it as believable or not. However, they don't have enough resources to check every last package there is. I hear parcels from a private person to another are less likely to get stuck in the customs than ones from an enterprise. Also, small packages are more likely not to cause any commotion, but this is hearsay...

Hope this helps and good luck with your project!

Thank you! :lovey: Yes, Galaxy-Player is alive, well and a father figure to the rest of my ponies.

I'm Emma, known as multa, from Finland and old enough to have played with G1 ponies as a child. Okay, all I had for a long time was a run-down Player who was the leader of my fakie herd – naturally, since he was special and a real My Little Pony. I named him (it was a he!) Galaxy 'cause in the TV series, Galaxy was awesome. Luckily, I have been able to make up for my lack of ponies when I grew up. Not that I have tossed ol' Galaxy-Player either.

I've been around on a (the?) Finnish MLP forum for ages but the Arena is a new, eh, arena to me. My collecting has been sporadic, my herd (consisting exclusively of G1 ponies) is small and will continue to be so, but I'm continuously on a more or less active hunt for some special ponies. In addition to the 1st generation ponies, I love and hoard Dream Beauties (okay, they perhaps count as MLPs here) and Fashion Star Fillies.

In addition to being a pony lover, I'm a History major with a degree in math (go figure) and an amateur comic artist. Other pastimes include horse riding and ballet.
