Just a thought - did you soak the join between the head and neck (where the glue is) in very hot/boiling water first? That can help significantly in loosening the glue and the heads tend to come off much easier and without damage . Hope that helps 
No, didn't do that. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely try that the next time. I don't want to repeat the massacre I did the other day.

So today I took off the heads of some bait duplicates. It did not go well with two of the ponies. It felt like the plastic of the head and body was all one piece melted together. Once I cut through the visible line between head and body I couldn't even see what was supposed to be glue so both ponies ended up with holes from trying to pull and cut the heads off. Not even violently. I don't see how I could have been more careful. The holes are in the part of the neck which doesn't show once the heads are reattached so they'll look fine when put back together but this confirmed my suspicion of taking off the heads being a bad idea to do to a mint pony. Hence the trying this out on bait duplicates. Still, I'd like to be able to do this to more ponies in need of inside cleaning without making holes in their necks. I have a pony in great condition except for tail rust but now I don't dare to touch her.
Is it possible that these ponies head and bodies somehow melted together or were they just really, really well glued? And how do I deal with this from now on? Obviously my technique is lacking.

Today was a 2. Did almost an hour of art. Not optimal but like every other day, I've got other stuff done. I mainly focus on what I need to do each day and the art, well it's just a hobby, so it never comes first. Problem is, if I don't put it first it will never be more than a hobby.

Today was a 1 because there was no time or energy for more. I worked in the garden cutting down trees for a couple of hours which was physically exhausting. I kept up my routines, including working on my art, but only did the bare minimum of 10 minutes of art so it's a 1.

Do you think one day you'll have all the pony related things you want and will consider your collection complete? What does your complete collection look like? For me it's about having every playset, accessory and pony which looks unique. I don't care about having a playset with a box with greek text on if the playset doesn't differ from the regular version. Neither do I care about no country, Italian or other variants of a pony if that variant doesn't look different than the regular one. With that goal my collection will never be complete seeing there are so many rare and expensive variants of ponies. The more realistic goal is to own one of every regular pony, mail order pony and pony exclusive to a specific country, all accessories plus all the playsets complete with boxes. Even that might be unrealistic so my first goal is to just own every regular pony and every playset complete with boxes. G1 only that is. Thank god, that narrows it down at least a bit.

People mocking G1 symbols and G1 in general is taking things waaay too seriously. It's a toy! Made for children! I think some of the newer fans do this maybe because they discovered MLP as adults and not kids. They interpret and analyze all things MLP with an adult mind while we who played with ponies as kids, at least I, fondly remember the fun of that and don't mind that the story behind the toy isn't perfect. The MLP story evolved over 35 years time and that's it.

Yay, glad you identified your fakies! Sadly I have no idea which company made them. Mine doesn't have any markings at all, not even a 'Made in China'.
I remember seeing a website that described them as Little Pretty fakies and said about them coming in mother and baby sets and about there being cats, dogs and bears available, but I now can't find it.

On a Swedish site you can book rainbow ponies pre release. The gift pack with five ponies is released in April and the single packed, six ponies, are released in July. Not sure how that correlates to rest of the world.

Today was a 1 because I only did 10 minutes of art but I've been busy cleaning the house and doing other things so it's ok. I'm thinking 10 minutes is still better than 0 minutes because in those 10 minutes I got an idea and moved forward with it in the design.

If a pony doesn't show any sign of rust, mold and similar, do you still take it apart to wash the inside? Since the heads are glued on, I feel like taking the head off is a bit like ruining it since it will be less in original condition than before.
What's the opinion on this in the pony community? If I sell a pony which head was taken off and the glue had to be cut open with a knife, can I still call that pony mint condition if it otherwise is in mint condition? I don't plan on selling any of my ponies but I don't want to make them worth less either if I one day decide to do so.
Also, when washing a pony without taking it apart, is there a big risk of water getting trapped inside? I try to be careful when I wash mine but some water always tends to end up at the tail hole anyway and I always worry that some has got inside.

It's neither of those I'm afraid. I'm by no means an expert on toy ID, but were they by any chance something to do with Lady LovelyLocks? There were a lot of very hairy animals in that toy-line! Either that or Sweetie Pups, as Tulips suggested.
Also, I have a fakie Pretty Kitty style cat who has hair all along her back as well as a sort of 'mane' and 'tail'. They used to come in mother-and-baby sets and did other animals such as dogs and bears as well. Might be a similar sort of thing?
Edited to add: here's a picture of my fakie. Her hair can be brushed to cover the sides of her body.

Not Lady LovelyLocks. It looks a lot like your fakie cat though. Of all the furry plastic cats and dogs from the 90s I've seen so far this is the one which I think most likely might be what I had. It's not exactly like I remember mine but I haven't seen mine in more than 20 years so I might remember it wrong. It's at least very similar. Do you know what it's called or which company manufactured it? There were also brushable bear figures too, to make this all more complicated

Got a 2 today but all in all it was a good day since I got a lot of other stuff done. I also kept up four out five of my daily routines. I only give myself points for keeping up my art routine though because that's the one I need the most motivation to keep at.
I realized I calculated April 3 wrong, I got a 2 that day and not a 1. That means so far my days have been 3, 1, 2, 5, 2. That's far above my expectations.
