Pony Corral / Re: Pink My Pretty Pony?
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:40:46 AM »
So it's just what Peachy is supposed to look like, but when Peachy is removed from her packaging she fades?

That's such a shame. I have nothing against her yellow colour, I was actually hunting for her when I happened upon the auction, but the pink is so much prettier, in my opinion.

I suppose this means even if I was to get a pink one, it would eventually turn yellow?

Pony Corral / Pink My Pretty Pony?
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:06:37 AM »
I was browsing eBay not a moment ago for My Pretty Pony, and happened upon an auction for one, MIB, that is very clearly pink (With a peachy-pink mane). I was fairly certain she only came in brown with a golden mane and a creamy, banana yellow colour with a peach mane. It certainly doesn't look like the lighting in the pictures is causing the pink body, though.

So I'm wondering, how common is a pink My Pretty Pony? Is she very rare? She's the most beautiful pony I've ever seen and I desperately desire her now (But I have no desire to own one MIB nor pay the price a MIB toy commands).

I saved the pictures from the auction, by the way, and I'd be glad to post them if that's allowed, I'm just not aware what the exact rules are for using images from eBay auctions.

#16, the pale pink blanket, is kind of fuzzy on one side and not on the other with a small square of white velcro in the corner, right? If so, I'm pretty sure it's Fisher Price. I've got the same one with my old dollhouse from my childhood.

Pony Corral / Re: Collecting Toys...

Wow. Sounds like she is the one that needs a hobby. It's true a kid probably would have enjoyed it, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get to!

If it makes you feel any better, children who actually like ponies tend to think collectors are awesome in my experience, not that we're thieves. They think it's neat that we can relate to what they like.

It's sad to think that someone would berate you like that for your interests, but please don't let it get to you! There's always going to be negative people, but it's best to ignore them. Her negative attitude is going to have a worse effect on the world than your toys, anyhow.

Well, it certainly doesn't look like I remembered it XD. I'm going to chock it up to my childish enthusiasm as to why I was always convinced it looked exactly like Whisper.

It's free of marks (Though I can see it used to have a sticker), but I think it's safe to say it's just a cute ceramic. Please do excuse my saying otherwise.

I can't guarantee the figurine I have is official. I know quite literally nothing about the franchise. It does look like her, though, and it came into my possession back in the nineties, so the timing is right. I'll have to check it for marks later, now that I have something to compare it to (the plush tag). I can take a picture, if anyone would like to see it.

That plush is so adorable in a homely sort of way. It looks sort of like a cross between a unicorn and a dragon, with those little shiny wings. Thank you for sharing the pictures ^^

Oh gracious, doesn't he have the cutest little face~ What a precious~

Taking him to a rehabilitation center is a good idea, but you should make sure to call them and explain the situation first. Some centers are very picky about the animals they take, and of course they'll need to know to set up for him.

Ah! I remember these!
I still have a handful of the books tucked away somewhere, and a figurine as well. Whisper was so pretty.

Anyone know if there was any other merchandise asides from books, stickers and ceramics?

Off Topic / Re: Does FiM "Fit" With Everything Else You Watch?
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:27:50 PM »
This is an interesting idea for a topic. I've never thought before what the general pony audience likes to watch asides from ponies. It'll be interesting if we get any major themes between viewers.

FiM mostly fits in with what I watch. I'm a children's show addict. I have Netflix, so I spend a lot of my TV time in their children's section XD. I've been watching Paddington Bear the most lately, but also Thomas the Tank Engine, though I watch that mostly to admire the set.

I also watch Anime and Asian Dramas, though with much less frequency, and Modern Family (Which is truly brilliant).

Oh no, beginner mistakes. They truly are a bane, but I think necessary to learn. My worst, which I'm still kicking myself for, was throwing out (Yes, literally in the trash! I feel so bad) Duck Soup and Brandy when I was a child not knowing what they were (Got them in a mixed bag of other things at a random thrift store).

At least with that to compare my mistakes to, nothing else I do ever seems that bad XD.

Earth ponies are my favourite, though mostly because I can't get enough of the Pony Bride/Bridal Beauty mold. One of these days I will build a bride army, muahaha!

Pegasus' ponies are a very close second. I love how they feel in my hand with the extra added bulk of the wings. Especially Masquerade and Whizzer's molds. So chubby~

I'm very curious to see which species will end up being the most popular.

I hope you don't mind if I pose a question.
Somewhere around here I've got a G2 rubber clay mold set that I can't seem to find on the wiki (Not saying it isn't there, I just didn't see it). I've got all the pieces (I think. Been ages since I've unpacked it. It may be missing paints...) and the box plus samples of  the jars the molds make. I could take some pictures if that would interest you?

That "Ponography" joke was to much. Omg XD. I feel like I should make little underwear for my ponies now.

I always refer to myself as a "My Little Pony Mummy" personally. I'm loving the idea of the scientific names, but they are definitely tongue twisters.

Pony Corral / Re: Your Best "Pony" Memory!
« on: May 12, 2012, 06:24:16 PM »
These thread is great! I love hearing everyone's pony memories and being reminded of my own. You all have shared some truly lovely stories! I enjoyed reading them so much I thought I'd come out of lurking to share one of my own pony memories.

My best pony memory so far actually happened at the start of this year. I was having health problems, and ended up becoming bedridden just before my birthday. I was devastated, because I'd made special plans for a perfect day out with my parents that unfortunately wasn't going to happen. I'd already received my present the week before my birthday (Final Fantasy XIII-2), so I wasn't expecting anything, but nonetheless my mother presented me with a gift bag. Inside was a loose pony, Lily Lightly. My mother had stopped buying ponies for me by now, but she said she knew I had to have this one, because it was special. It totally made my day, and my week actually. It was great to have a new cute little pony to keep me company and cheer me up with her flashing lights and pretty eyes. And to make it extra special, I'd never seen her before, either, so she was a complete surprise. She's my favourite G3 now. I can't help but smile whenever I catch sight of her on the end of my desk.
