Wow, she is stunning! Congratulations on your new addition! :lovey:

You see the two hoof stamp thing on some other ponies as well, typically those with Spain and NC variants. As far as I know they didn't have more than one manufacturer, but evidently they had at least two runs of quite a few ponies! :)

It's a possibility it could be a comic gift, however it's not one I have documented. I don't think I have ever owned the clip, and I had the comic up until at least 188 and also the Friends one to around the same time (I'm not sure exactly when I stopped, but I still have my original 188, so can date it at least that far!). Of course, it's not impossible I had it and lost it or something. There are still some things missing (I swear there is another Barbie box in the loft that might have some things in it)

139 had a Best Wishes card, 144 was gift labels, 183 was a pony bride sticker, 191 is a heart bead bracelet and 164's hair slide was a princess comb (incidentally I must have got that, but only ever remember having one princess comb... although now I think about it I was convinced mine was long gone and one magically reappeared).

176 is a maybe though (we have at least two with tape on the front, but no gift, and no idea what it was, and there's a few after 200 I'm not sure about. Some I'm not sure about with Friends as well though, so there are some possibilities.

Price Check Archives / Re: PC on Russian G1 magazine
« on: April 18, 2017, 02:05:01 PM »
Wow, that is amazing! I haven't seen any G1 Russia stuff before. I noticed the date is very late on as well (wouldn't expect anything pre-1991 from Russia). By that time the UK comics had moved on to a different style/set of characters. As Taffeta mentioned, although the artwork will be the same as the UK issue, it may have a different selection of stories and/or additional material.

I'm not aware of any others in the community. I would love to see the inside of it (obviously would love to own it too, lol!). My mum speaks Russian, so it would be interesting to compare the stories and see how close they are. $100 is probably more than most people would spend on it, but you never know :)

I think snyfez also had some that came out of India with the plastic still around their heads, but I can't remember the rest of the details of the story!

MLP Nirvana / Re: Mexican Blossom, hair cut or variant?
« on: March 20, 2017, 01:42:12 PM »
Mexican ponies don't have glued heads generally so it's easy to "pose" them facing different directions.

You took the words right out of my mouth! :p That was my thinking about the pose as well.

Generally Mexicans have quite long hair, so I would think hair cut as well

MLP Nirvana / Re: Pinwheel Variant, Argie?
« on: March 18, 2017, 02:32:05 PM »
It's hard to know for sure either way, but I have also heard the story about the symbols being added on to more common Argie ponies later on. The vast majority have the same body/hair colour base as one of the original six ponies, so it is plausible. The walking ones are believed to be unfinished ponies, but the symbols may have been added later. It has been discussed a few times on here before, but not for a while.

'Repaired the hair' was a common thing for some Argie sellers back in the day, so sadly it is entirely possible that they are later modifications. In addition, there used to be a LOT of MOC Argies around, and none of these have ever shown up on card :/

If it is the seller in New Zealand I'm thinking of, she bought them in good faith and hasn't really been around the community since we started hearing the stories.

MLP Nirvana / Re: UK Princess Variant and Greek Butterscotch, advice?
« on: March 18, 2017, 02:06:53 PM »
With Greek Butterscotch, I'm not sure if it's fading, or just plain old batch differences! Could go either way, but I'd lean towards the latter.

MLP Nirvana / Re: Do you collect nirvana accessories?
« on: March 05, 2017, 09:49:52 AM »
There are some that I really like, such as Peru ponywear or variant Princess accessories, however as a general rule I don't go out of my way to get the accessories for the ponies, so when they come with them it is an added bonus :D

MLP Nirvana / Re: spanish piggies prototypes or factory errors

I've only seen the mould before as well :) No prototypes, but there are a lot of variations within some of the individual ponies!

Peachy can discolour, but that is pretty bad sunburn if that is the case! Hair and symbols do look like normal Peachy, but the body colour does not. Hopefully pictures of the hooves (or even just text) will help :)

My Tesco had a few really early on, then quickly sold out and restocked with humongous amounts of headband ponies. It took quite a while for those to clear, even with the sale, and only now have the gone back to pealies, but again not very many, so they could go again fast.

Pony Corral / Re: Unusual hoof markings for G1 Brush n grow Curly Locks

I've also only seen Pretty Vision. I think Lady G has one - if she still has it. I seem to remember vaguely her buying one at ponycon one year..? Unless I hallucinated that or it was someone else. But I definitely have seen Pretty Vision. I've not seen any of the others till now :) Congrats on your find :)

I do still have her! She still needs a good groom though, lol.

These do seem to be fairly few and far between, but we don't know much about them at all. Given it's China rather than Hong Kong and that indicates a later release, plus that they appear to have been found in Europe, would assume that they are European, but how they relate to the normal China stamp (before or after?) I have no idea! XD
