Just not feeling it anymore

I've got blind bags, brushables, and Fashion Style G4 ponies. I am still loving my Fashion Style ponies, because they are just the right size, but all of these brushables are just taking up space on my table.... I'm really not loving them anymore. I've put off selling/trading them off, in case it was a passing feeling, but it hasn't gone away. I can't help but think how much space they are taking up, and how little enjoyment I am getting from them....

I'm also NOT loving my blind bags, but they are on a shelf at my job not taking up space, so "out-of-sight-out-of-mind"

Anyone else go through these lulls?

You don't have to have EVERYTHING in your collection - just collect what you want.  If you have decided you're not into the brushables, then sell them and move onto enjoying something else in your collection.

I agree with Squirmy, but don't rush into it. Though if it was a pony you were feeling before and have fallen out of love with her- try restyling them. A new look can change your mind on a pony a lot of the time

I've never had those feelings with ALL my brushables, or any other pony group, but yes, there are some ponies I wanted and got, and now they just annoy me. I'm not thinking about selling though, I want to customize them.

Everyone has ups and downs with collecting thats normal with just about everything in life. Just take your time before you sell - make sure you really dont mind. I find packing something out of sight works best - if I dont miss it, I probably dont need it. If I miss it for the few weeks its packed away, then its not time to sell.

Totally agree.  That has worked really well for me in deciding whether something stays or goes--so far I haven't regretted any of the ponies I've sold or traded.

(If you do ultimately decide to sell some brushables, I'm your girl! )

We all go through that.
I think most of us remedy it the same way... sales or trades.

My advice is to sell some off, collect something else for a bit and the love will come back happens to me sometimes too

Right now I just check the MLP Aisle for any new ponies that are not blind bags or Main 6 (or glimmer wings). last ponies I bought from a retailer was the 4 or 5 from Big Lots that I needed... Most of my Newer ones are coming from a friend on FB right now... as far as G4s.. and not feeling it for Blind Bags any more... it just seems more like a hassle than anything! I had more fun going after the bella sara mini figurines because I never knew who I got!

Completely agreed and well-said. 

I go through moods with my collection and sometimes, though not often, there are ponies that end up in my collection that I either a) don't ever become attached to or b) get bored with.  Those I might pull from my collection, hide away for awhile and see if I miss them.  If I do, they stay in the collection. If I don't miss them, they go for sale.  This usually works.

Thanks everyone. I've had them hidden behind my Monster High dolls for several weeks, and it was that not missing them that made me think it was time for them to go.... I made a posting in the trades forum for the ones that I'm just not that in love with.

Can I just say, though, FS Rarity is just too cute with that fluffy saddle

You don't have to get rid of your entire collection.  I decided to sell off nearly all my ponies and just keep the ones I really liked and my exclusives.  With the G4's I'e decided no duplicates.  I don't need 200 different Twilights or Dashie's just because one has a new hat, or tinsel in their mane.  I'm very happy with my collection the way it is right now.

I also do not collect EVERYTHING! The focus lies on my G1's because from them i get that special pony feeling in my tummy. But i really do not like So Soft ponies...so they are not in my collection... oeps i lied...i have one SS!
And i do not collect G2/G3 and i only buy G4's when i like the pony herself. The same with blindbags...i don't like them...ok they are cheap but here in Holland they cost 2,50/3 euro and G4 around the 8/9 euro. So i save my money better for a G4 or save longer for a special G1.

I think I'm going through a lull too.  Still love my ponies, but I'm really not excited to go pony hunting like I have been.  I know it will return in time.
