I don’t plan to do the club.  It sounds kind of neat but, I would hate to miss out on a doll after paying $10.

Pretty much this. If this was G1 I'd be up for it, but until I see more Abbey or other dolls I'm interested in, this isn't really worth it. And I say that as someone who is willingly part of a band's fanclub despite not having used her discount for ages.

Remembering the chaos with the IT dolls and Jem...I'm also not a fan of this kind of exclusive membership doll acquisition thing for that reason.

With IT, I remember there were a lot of IT non Jem fans who were members and who didn't like/want the Jem range - but bought them on early release anyway to scalp off Jem collectors. Certain characters were very limited in their release, which meant that by the time they went on general sale, a lot of actual Jem fans missed out and prices soared. They made too many Stinger dolls, so those prices stayed lowish, but I remember that there was utter chaos over the Regine/Danse/Video/Clash release.

...I have never been so glad to be in Europe, since I was able to get the last Regine from one French seller. Nobody in the US wanted to deal with European shipping, but we were still in the EU then so no import duty. I also by some fluke whim got Danse and not Clash, who I'd originally been intending to get. And boy was that the right decision. I was able to get Clash later, but Danse? Sold out.

I deboxed Danse but my Regine is still in her box because of the scary prices she was selling for after that melee.

IT have weird rules about when you can sign up to their exclusive club thing, so if you miss that you're toast. It's some narrow window every year in January. I don't know if Mattel works that way, but it's possible you may have to make a decision on signing up long before you know if that year's products will appeal to you.

@Esbayne, the teasers for a new collector Ghoulia still don't do much for me. I have a fair few original Ghoulia dolls from G1 on my shelf, and I have the two-pack with Cleo,  which I adore. But it's kind of an ideological thing for me as well.

My feelings about Ghoulia's reboot are really complicated...but I feel like Mattel should've stuck with her as she was, not tried to change her. I don't know what they were going for with the G3 reboot, and that's problematic for me. I read one blog that suggested her actress was autistic, which may or may not be true - but it's not about that. It's about the character as a whole. Ghoulia speaking zombie for me wasn't about the fact she didn't speak in human words. It was about communicating differently and yet still being an active, accepted part of the group regardless. I think Mattel could've handled her reboot in a lot of ways that still recognised that difference - but I don't really understand Ghoulia as a character any more.

Frankie has taken over some of it. They're clearly complicated because of their construction - but it's not the same thing. It makes me feel that releasing G1 Ghoulia stuff is now kind of a cop-out, because the G1 Ghoulia that represents has been diluted :/

I think I might be more worried, based on the movie, if Mattel was trying to make G3 Ghoulia somehow on the spectrum.

But this is just my personal opinion. Of course I wouldn't judge anyone for making different choices or having a different view.

I cannot wrap my mind around this design choice, personally.
I'm glad some others seem to like it so far.

I like the doll's overall look.  Kinda feel queasy looking at her boots.  But, it's still a beautiful doll.

I think I would drop everything if they ever make Scarah.  I don't know what she's like in the cartoons, but I love her dark 70s vibe and hollow eyes.

I can't decide if I like the new Ghoulia or not... I love parts of her, but all those pieces added together? not sure. If that makes sense. The "Statue of Liberty" headband is a bit weird But I love the spine/ribcage accessory (would've preferred it in different colours, bone coloured maybe, but it might've been too gory/visceral that way? though idk if it would've been any worse than Cupid's ribcage wings...), the catsuit is cool and I LOVE the boots, they're a touch too gory for my taste but the mold is awesome and I hope they use it again. But when you put all these pieces together, I dunno if it really works for me? She's not bad, she is pretty, but, I dunno, she's definitely not one I'd go to the trouble of getting. Not sure if I'd get her if she was a regular release, tbh.

It is lovely to see Ghoulia again though. I hope they bring back more old favourites soon, I'd kill for another Scarah too.

Ghoulia also had the worm earrings in a fashion pack, but yeah Moanica got worm earrings as well.

She was actually up for a decent amount of time for a Mattel Creations drop (discounting outliers like HC Clawdeen and Midnight Runway Frankie) - usually it's under 5 minutes and I believe the shortest were the first two (Pennywise/Grady Twins) in under 1 minute?

Abbey is up for order on Entertainment Earth, I'm watching Smyths like a hawk. When/if she comes into stock, I NEED to personally go get her!!

Fang Vote Rochelle fully revealed - for a price of $90 USD I think it's a bit too high personally as I don't see anything that would make her more expensive than the Haunt Couture ghouls. She's also missing the gloves from her concept art for some reason?
