Regrind is common with him, at least with most of the ones I have seen.  He is wonderful.

You could remove his hair and put it on another Steamer, with faded hair and nice body.

Don't do that.. Then you loose the original inside braid and it just becomes a rehair. Swap heads and tails with a different steamer that has a better body.

You should post a pic of him in the regrind thread that is up right now.   He is still cute even with the regrind. He looks all tye-dye-y.

I´ll join the people who don't mind his regrind. He's absolutely gorgeous and if I didn't have a gorgeous steamer myself, I´d give him a home.
At the end of the day, you can choose who you sell to so I think you should simply ask from the one buying him to promise you they will not bait him and will love him as is, that should be enough ^^

Woo, boy! Seems like Im in the same boat as you, with the same pony too!
I got a Steamer with very pink hair, maybe not quite as pink as yours, but quite close, and I just found out my Steamer have not only gotten regrind, but also cancer on top of that!
Its so sad since a year ago he was perfect...no cancer, no regrind...just gorgeous pink hair...
