What kind of plastic...

Hi!

I'm puzzled.  What kind of plastic are our ponies made of, anyway?  I did a quick search earlier and didn't find anything relevent... anypony know?

For that matter, how 'bout the playsets?

Just pondering and curious on a Friday night while I watch the DS finish world 8 of Super Mario Bros. Wii...

They're made from vinyl, so I assume PVC. I know the blindbag ponies are made from it too. Playsets are probably made from something else, maybe polyethylene.

MLP are made from the same vinyl plastic as any other "doll line"....vinyl is a type of plastic made from ethylene and chlorine, its processed and they combine to form Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) resin or as its more popularly known, vinyl. Its not a popular type of plastic for toy lines I believe but its ability to retain plasticisers and be flexible enough for varied colours, moulds, etc...make it popular for everything from MLP to Barbie.
