G1 Backcards/Boxes? Who collects these ?

I am wondering who also collects these? This is one of my big obsessions in the pony world. I am wondering who out there understands me.

Oh yes. I have boxes for most of my G1 playsets and I love the look of them. Weirdly, one of the few things I still have from my childhood is the box for the Party Pack and the art on that is to die for. I’d really like to have more backcards, I love the stories about the ponies and art that’s included on those, especially the early ones.

I have several from the US release but my main focus is European and UK packaging, so most of the ones I have are from this part of the world. I like those best they're nostalgic to my childhood.

I call it compensating for all the ones I threw out as a kid xD.

That aside, I love all Pony literature, so for me the biggest draw to backcards is the stories. I know a few sites had a fondness for backcard stories too. i love all the different insights to Pony characters, even the way the UK & US ones can often vary (they do, trust me).

I also love the art on them, & my biggest want is either an actual card, or scan of, UK/ Euro Twisty Tail, preferably including the top image on the front of the card, which is of her.

I have the backcard to the Tropical Ponies and the Sweet Steps Ballerinas, I particularly love the backcards that mention unicorn magic. I also like later sets that have four ponies and one story for them all to share because the backcard is part of the set if you get all four.

But I like them more for the art than anything else. The pony exists in art form, not just toy form.

Threads like this make me wish that I still had my childhood backcards.   I thought I kept them but I must have thrown them away at some point.  I didn't have all of them but I remember saying Coco Berry/Chocolate Chip, Mirror Mirror, Baby Pearly, Baby Palm Tree and a few others. 

I love the art on the backcards and it it's always interesting to see how ponies changed from their prototype to the final toy like Hippity Hop.  She's a pegasus but her backcard shows her as a unicorn.

I love collecting backcards/boxes! I don't have any from G1, sadly, but I have one or two from G4. I'd love to have one from G1 one day, the artwork is so beautiful! I have backcards from other toys that I love, too. It's nice to know that you do, too. My family thinks that the boxes/backcards are just trash and should be thrown away. They don't think they're ugly, they just have always liked more room.

I don't really actively collect them, but I have a couple of pony wear backcards and a bunch of pamphlets that came in the packages with childhood ponies. I'd love to have a couple of backcards/boxes to a few of my childhood favorite ponies, if I ever come across them at a reasonable price.

I kept all of mine as a child but they got thrown out.  I’d buy more but they’re easy enough to find scanned online and I’m ok with that.

I don't actively collect them, but I love looking at them for sure! I do have a couple G2 backcards, but G1's backcard art is just so lovely.

Oh! I do have a couple of the Basic Fun retro boxes, though--that's probably about the closest I'll get until I come across something in the wild though

Scanning and uploading my cards is one of the many jobs I seem to never get around to! I have photos of most all of them but my scanner died a long time back, so scanning them is more difficult to do and I'm lazy.
