I was sooo jealous of my friend's baby Surprise and her beautiful Glittering Gem pony.  A pony with tinsel, wings, and an awesome jewel on her forehead? Yes please!

i always wanted her because of the movie, but when i first watched the movie it had to be sometime around 2000 or 2001. and she obviously wasnt in production around then.
i still dont have her now, but i definitely will get her sometime soon! :3

Oh my, there were SO MANY that I wanted!! A lot of them were basic ones featured in the shows/movie because I didn't start getting ponies until year 5.  Let me think....

Fizzy. I had one of those pamplet thingys and she was always the one I wanted most. Never got her, cause after I turned... eight or so, my mom stopped buying me the ponies I asked for and started buying me barbies I didn't.
 
But I always thought Fizzy was freaking gorgeous and the want was soooo bad.  >.<

there where several ponies that I wanted but never got.
I wanted the Megan and Sundace set so badly as a child. Even back then, standing in the store wanting them so badly, I understood my parents couldn't afford them But that Christmas My parents did get me a fakie purple unicorn that came with a purple haired doll. I absolutely loved them. Looking back its that set that makes me realize just how important fakie ponies are!
The other ones I wanted so badly where SS Fifi (Because I had baby Fifi) and Baby Dancing Butterflies. I loved having Mommy baby sets. The only other one I can think of is Lucky.

Bubbles and Seashell.  My goodness.  I longed for them.  I got my first pony at the end of 1984 and by the time I really wanted B & S they were long gone in stores.  Imagine my delight when in 1998 (14 years later!) I found Seashell at a rummage sale.  I have almost never experienced that level of glee in my life.  That restarted my collecting--I discovered eBay the same week!

LOL, I'm sure as a kid I would have gladly cleared the pony shelves.

In terms of ponies that I know I wanted and begged for was Scribbles and Dabbles, Pearly Baby Blossom ("but mom, Blossom NEEEDS her baby!"), and Baby TAF Sugarberry (because she needed her baby too).

I also remember seeing the Family Apple Delight in the store and asking for it, so I was kinda disappointed when I got Family Celebrations instead.

I also begged for Baby Ember with the cassette tape, but alas - she was never mine.

Like most of you: any of the ponies that featured in the movie or TV series I really wanted. But I mostly remember desperately wanting Firefly. I had her baby, but by the time I wanted the adult she was long off the shelves. What I did have was a light switch cover with her on it so I use to pretend she had been transported to an alternate dimension and used that to keep in touch with her baby. 

And I  missed 3 Big Brothers I believe (Wigwam, Chief & 4-Speed). I was genuinely worried about the future of the pony race if there were only a handful of men.

The first pony I ever got as a kid was Skydancer. She wasn't new, we got her as a hand me down from the girls that lived across the street from us. They had apparently hit an age where MLP wasn't cool anymore and gave me the ones they didn't want. I had always wanted another Rainbow hair to match her, but we could never find one. One of the first pony's I got when I started collecting again was Trickles, and another Skydancer. Both are in AMAZING shape, seeing as the ones I had as a kid look like they've survived the apocalypse. :/

I don't remember wanting a specific pony...my memories of MLP in my childhood are very fuzzy, but I do remember wanting a sea pony as I love the Rescue from Midnight castle special. I got a fancy merpony instead, who I absolutely ADORED, but never did get to call upon a sea pony.

OMG just remembered I wanted dream castle so much!!! Saw it in a toy shop on holiday but it was too expensive!
