I used to use it straight, but my Triple Thick is kind of old and has gotten Quadruple Thick.  Needless to say, I have to thin it very slightly now and it does look less "wet" when dried...it still gives a really nice thick gloss though.

This! it thins quite nicely :)

I dip my brush in water first before triple thick. But I do have a bottle which I added some water to thin it out a bit - it works just as well. With it thinner - you do have a slightly longer work time.

Where cani get triple thick? I've not seen it in hobby lobby..

I bought mine at Hobby Lobby so they def sell it there! I've never thinned mine, but my jar is a couple of years old now and it has been getting a bit too thick, so I guess I'd  better start.

I've never thinned Triple Thick and usually apply with a dry brush. Sometimes I'll add a second coat just to give eyes a little more depth. :)
Also, I've bought it at both Michaels and Hobby Lobby.

I always use clear nail polish for my gloss

I'd start using something else. Gloss sealers are relatively inexpensive - cheaper than a good bottle of nail polish. ;)
Nail polish was never designed to be permanent. Even if your customs don't go sticky the polish will break down, yellow and crack.

I just tried to use Triple Thick for the first time this morning, but it was sooo thick that brush strokes were showing so I got scared and did my best to take it off. Will brush strokes show up after the TT dries?

They haven't shown up on my eyes. It sort of oozes together.

You could try to apply it using a toothpick.  I do that sometimes.  Just get a couple of globs of TT on the end (you do the same thing with the paintbrush) and dab it into the eye indentation, making sure to get it in the creases.  Does that make sense?  And usually minor brush strokes or even bubbles will go away as the TT dries. :)

hmlmlp--the G2s are harder plastic...I wonder if that makes a difference.

Thanks everyone! I realized that my problem was that I was being too skimpy with the Triple Thick--once I started using it more liberally things seemed to even out, as you said. Now I have a new problem, though. There are a couple dimpled or ridged areas that look a little messy in the wrong light. Can I fix that by adding another liberal coat all over the eye and smoothing it out or do I risk making the problem worse?

The only advice I can give when re-applying triple thick is wait until it is totally dry, like a couple of days before putting on another coat to correct imperfections.  If you don't it will become white and your poor pony will look like she has really bad glaucoma or cataracts because it will dry very cloudy.
