I've finished my first Decoponies custom! It was so much fun to work on! She's available for purchase here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150776240481 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150776240481)

Pretty girl! I love her subtle shading and her eyes!
-
What a cutie! I love the round beads used as sprinkles.
-
Cute!!! That is a VERY glittery strawberry!
-
Are the beads glued onto the hair or threaded on there somehow?
-
Thank you all!

They're glued with the strongest glue I have, haha. It works pretty well since the hair has multiple strands to catch the bead :).

I love the idea of decoden ponies. I hope you try some more elaborate ones - I always love the decoden stuff that's just really lavish and over the top :D
-
Lovely! I love the paint effect.

So pretty! Nice work!

She's gorgeous, I love the white speckles and her doll-like eyes!
I would suggest that you thread the beads to a few hairs and secure with glue... I don't know, to me it would seem more secure that way even if the glue you're using is strong. Maybe more refined, too, to match the careful and skilled crafting that the pony shows. :)

I thought about that immediately after I had already secured them, haha. It's my first, so it's a learning process :). Thanks!

She's a fantastic first custom, you should be proud! I'm sure someone will snatch her in no time.

Wonderful but question- HOW DO YOU GET THE BEADS TO STAY IN PLACE???! I tried it with my custom and it just didn't work ;--;
-

I used Gorilla glue on top of the hair this time to hold them in place. They've had a chance to dry overnight and even when I move it gently, they stay in place and are not loose at all :). In the future, I will probably thread the bead through a few strands to where I'd like it on the hair and use a toothpick to add a drop of glue inside.

I love the icing on her hooves.. don't know why but that makes the whole thing work for me! :)
