Price Check Archives / Re: PC: Pink Sprinkles (my nemesis...)

Agreed, she is really HTF.  I've been searching for years and after several purchases of 'I-thought-you-were-pink' lavender Sprinkles I am not buying another until I am certain she is a pink one!

Pony Corral / Re: MLP made the Country Music Awards
« on: November 06, 2015, 11:05:50 AM »
OMG my two favourite things together - country music and MLP!    Brad Paisley, have seen him and Carrie Underwood live in the UK, and looking forward to seeing Kacey Musgraves next year, but hoping she is better dressed then!  That outfit is terrible, at best it looks like she got called onto stage before she'd finished dressing!

Thanks Lyraheartstrings for the link, going to watch the awards show now as we can't get it on TV over here :D

MLP Nirvana / Re: Princess "Twins" factory mashup MIB

Slightly late to the party :)  but here is my oddity Honeysuckle.  She is MIB - or IB at least, as the box is far from mint.  I got her on ebay a few months ago simply listed as My Little Pony Cool Breeze MIB so the seller didn't know she was an oddball.  But another collector must have spotted her too as her price went up quite high and I was close to being outbid!  I only have one oddball princess (Princess Prawn ;) ) and pink haired Bobbi so I was glad to get another odd G1 to keep them company.

I don't have either version and she is the very last USA (store release) pony that I need so I hope I will own her someday!

Pony Corral / Re: What generations do you collect?
« on: September 16, 2015, 02:23:46 PM »
I have all gens in my herd but actively trying to complete G1 (currently at 97%) and G2 (currently at 75%, though haven't found any in ages), and trying to keep up with new releases of G4.  Will buy G3.5 if they are cheap and have practically completed G3 so haven't bought one in ages (like maybe two years or more).

It looks like the cutlery that came with the Sindy cream dining set and dresser in the 1980s.

Early days of collecting I was the underbidder on a set of seaside babies with floats but they went for £25 and I had never spent that much on a pony purchase before so didn't increase my bid.  Years later they go for huge prices and I now need Baby Splash to complete my UK releases so that auction still haunts me!

Pony Corral / Re: Where do you find a 'concerned fakie'?
« on: September 12, 2015, 11:41:13 AM »
I have the 'Applejack' style one - I don't collect fakies but I couldn't resist that wibbly face!  I got her on ebay, she was listed as a g4 baby, and was really cheap.

Thanks for the replies - very interesting discussion.  I agree with the comments that UK is used too often as interchangeable with Europe, when each country within Europe seems to have had its own variations.

No one mentioned bride Confetti - is she only UK given she appears in the running pose from USA and other Euro countries?  I did wonder if Baby Bowtie and Baby Lemon Drop (in same pose) and Baby Applejack were on the list.  I had also wondered about the 3 (or 2 depending how you class them) adult sea ponies, Butterscotch with Gymkhana, forward-facing pearly sea ponies and the fan club babies.  What about the lipstick ponies?

Anyone know about ponies from other gens?

ETA:  Taffeta, I'm so pleased you saw my exhibition!  I only wish we'd been able to meet up.  Baby Sugarcake would love to meet her twin sister sometime ;)

Pony Corral / Re: How do you collect?
« on: August 27, 2015, 03:21:10 PM »
I started out by collecting only the ones I wanted as a child, adding to my original childhood herd, but then it grew and then G3 came out... now I collect all 4 gens.  I love making lists and ticking them off so I collect all types of ponies and playsets and accessories.  All other collections have long gone to make way for more ponies.

G1 criteria: loose and in minty condition where possible, complete with accessories or I will spend ages hunting down any missing parts ;)  I collect backcards and playset boxes but try not to buy MIB as I will only open them and feel guilty about it!  I collect all USA and UK including variants.  I also collect Nirvanas - rainbows, Blossom variants, collector pose variants or just any that I think are pretty.  I collect vintage merch, comics, softies, porcelains, petites and mummy charms.  I have one Dream Beauty but no doubt she will gain a companion at some point.  I am only missing 3 USA, 4 UK/Euro and 14 MO to have a complete set of brushable G1 ponies.

G2 criteria: MOC/MIB and I don't open these! I do have a few loose, some are hard to find so will be super difficult to get MOC.  Still got 47 MOC and 1 beanie to get to complete my G2 collection.

G3 criteria: All were purchased new and most are now loose, but I have kept all of the packaging (yes my attic is full of boxes!) - some special ones I even have doubles so I can open one and keep one mint.  I have every variation of G3 ponies, except the giant blank pony and open-mouthed Ribbon & Hearts, but not every packaging/accessories variation.  I have a huge army of Pinkie Pie to show all the variations of packaging and merch.  I have approx. half the G3.5s but I'm only adding to them if they are super cheap!

G4  As G3!  Just trying to keep up with the new ones, but I do collect brushables, prototypes, blind bags, plushies, EG and Funko (regular and blind box) so it feels as if I will never complete G4!

Pony Corral / UK exclusives
« on: August 25, 2015, 01:57:50 PM »
I was wondering which ponies were exclusive to the UK - I mean just the UK, not Euro wide?  I'm interested in all gens but especially G1s. Thanks in advance for sharing your pony knowledge :D

Pony Corral / Re: Buttonbelle and Trixie Breezie Sets?
« on: August 22, 2015, 12:32:33 PM »
In the UK Buttonbelle, Rarity and Trixie sets with breezies can now be found at Argos and Smyths.  I got mine today, along with glitter-globe wings Blossomforth (already have RD and Lily Blossom).

Still waiting for the Power Ponies to come into stock at my local Argos.  And Tesco must have new ponies coming soon because nearly everything is reduced to clear out the old lines, though tbh most of it hadn't been in that long yet!

Pony Corral / Re: Ever have a pony in your collection go MIA?
« on: August 22, 2015, 12:09:41 PM »
German Baby Moondancer is MIA.  I know I received her, along with a few other nice ponies, from a seller but between unpacking them and putting them on my 'new arrivals' shelf, she disappeared!  And she never turned up :( I do wonder if she hid back inside the packaging and ended up in the bin *cry* even though I searched for her.  I haven't bought another to replace her yet, partly in hope she will turn up!
